I would throw James Harrison into the discussion.

But between the two, I'm going with Tom Brady. 110 QB Rating. Are you fucking kidding me??

pats have the highest scoring offense and Brady's PASSING numbers are superior...

but throw in Vick's rushing stats and a cinderella comeback, he very well might get more votes than we think.

Its gonna be Vick vs. Brady...

Manning has thrown too many ints this year.

The racial issue I was referring to wasn't race in general. What I meant, was his race in conjunction with the fall out that still exists from the dog fighting scandal.

So....you're saying that dog-fighting is stereotypically a black activity? :dunno:

Not around where I live in here in Texas. It more of a "redneck thang". I don't see it as racial at all. It was dogfighting....period. Now, if one happens to be prejudiced against blacks anyway....well, THAT is racial but I don't see the connection with dogfighting.

I think the Eagles are the highest scoring actually...:dunno:

The racial issue I was referring to wasn't race in general. What I meant, was his race in conjunction with the fall out that still exists from the dog fighting scandal. I believe it is hard to argue that this isn't a fact, that society as a whole is quicker to "forgive" a white person, than they are someone of color. My team's quarterback, Ben Roethlisberger would be a pretty good example of that. Many of my fellow Steelers fans wanted him GONE before the season started, and they are back kissing his ass today! I'm white myself, so I'm not that big on "playing the race card" so to speak. But, I would argue, like I did, that given that he is black, will play against his being "forgiven" for the dog fighting when it comes time to vote. And, if everything else is "equal" in the eyes of a voter, that factor will work against Vick & will benefit Brady! It just so happens that Vick is the only black player with a reasonable shot of winning the MVP award this year.

American society forgives anyone who is rich and famous. America, as a whole, has a very straightforward attitude toward ex-cons: You are never forgiven and always under suspicion regardless of race.

AFK..being taken to the vet to get neutered.
Michael Vick is a sadistic scumfuck who should never have been let back anywhere near a sports field. I don't care if he's black, white, yellow, green or purple with orange spots, tits, gills and a trunk ...... he's an insult to sports and genuine sportsmen everywhere and shouldn't be named in contention with any award, real or hypothetical

Why so much hatred, he didn't make those barbaric shits with your dog, everybody deserves a 2d chance in life.He made dangerous foolish mistakes with those dogfights, but as far as he assume that & pay for it, i don't know why he can't play to the NFL.His matches & his level proved that he really belongs to the MVP nominee with Tom "Terrific".

Yeah cause dog fighting is so much worse than rape or murder like other NFL players have been accused of and comeback and won that award.

An award is performance on the field and not a god damn thing to do with whats done off field 5 years ago.

I really hope Vick wins this year. He deserves it.

Did he fuck your dog?

We all saw what happens when Brady isn't the QB of his team. Cassel leads them to a 10-6 record without having started a football game since highschool and does things Brady didn't even do in his record breaking season. Brady isn't the most valuable player in the league. Probably not even top 10. But the MVP isn't about the most valuable player in the league. It's the guy with the best numbers on the best team. Brady will win.

No, I wasn't saying that dog fighting is predominately/stereotypically a black thing. What I was saying is that he is a black man who was convicted of a crime that is considered heinous by a large segment of the population.....the crime just happened to be dog fighting and related torture/killing of dogs. What I was saying is that society as a whole is less likely to forgive a black man who was convicted of a crime.....and is thus more likely to hold it against him indefinitely. Now, outside the black community, the sports media (publicly anyway) and Eagles fans (since he is producing for them), I would suspect that a significant portion of the population still has a very negative opinion of Michael Vick. His recent whining about wanting to get a dog as a pet for himself and his kids, but not being allowed to while he is still on probation probably didn't do anything to improve his image in the eyes of his detractors either.

This would be more valid if Kansas City sucked ass. All this proves is that Cassell ain't all that bad a QB :dunno: also this was the last season that Randy Moss gave a damn about playing.

Would you want your Niners to have Shady McCoy and Desean Jackson or Danny Woodhead and Deion Branch?

Checkmate.

Absolutely

The same here in Louisiana. Floyd Boudreaux(Cajun or Louisiana Red neck) has/had some of the most legendary fighting bloodines in the country , "Boudreaux Pits'.

Pit Bull fighting is mostly/traditionally a Rural /Southern thing. Black & White.

Some lazy journalists have somehow turned this into a part of 'black culture' because they don't understand it. Although because of Hip Hop Pit Bull Fighting has spread farther into the inner cities.

But like Cockfighting (which was only banned here in Louisiana in 2008 ?or so) Dogfighting is a very strong/serious subculture in the South.

Those guys(Southerners) see themselves as professionals, ABSOLUTELY LOVE THEIR DOGS(ironically as it seems:dunno:) and take pride in the bloodlines/ fighting prowess of their dogs.

My heart wants to say Vick should win, but if I'm compltely honest with myself I have to admit it's Brady.

As TitsRock said, MVP = Brady, Comeback Player of the Year = Vick.

With Belichek as my coach it wouldn't matter. It's a system. That's why (most) players excel in NE and nowhere else.

Belichick is no doubt a great coach. He's the best in the league right now. At the same time, Andy Reid has been pretty successful as well. He has been to a Super Bowl and 4 or 5 NFC Championship games too. Vick has no doubt benefitted from the coaching of Andy Reid.

I know someone mentioned Vick as offensive player of the year, but I think that should go to Philip Rivers. Why is he not mentioned in this MVP race? His career year is keeping that shit team above 500 and maybe into the playoffs. Boy deserves some credit.

All about the wins, son. And the Bolts already got HOUSED by the Pats.

If it's about wins, than why are we giving an individual award to someone because their team has accomplished more?

Rivers is more valuable to the Chargers then Brady is to the Patriots. Especially this year. He's done more with less. He's thrown for 4100 yards. 29 TD's and 11 INT's. Antonio Gates, his best receiver has missed significant time due to injury. Vincent Jackson has only played in...2 games? Ryan Matthews, his 1st round running back has been injured all year. His special teams has been historically bad and the defense is nothing like years passed. They lost players on offense and defense and yet, he still has the Chargers in right in the mix of another division title. If that isn't MVP worthy, I don't know what is.
