Lashley's Health and initial title plans

There is a bit of a story behind Finlay's recent WWE US Championship win. Lashley was scheduled for a significantly longer run as a champion. Even if he wasn't, it would have presumed that he'd lose it at the GAB in a two-on-one match. Lashley losing his belt was a bit of a punishment. Lashley was very unhappy with WWE's ruling.

Even though it was one of the first things speculated on, Lashley didn't fail a steroid test, and if that were the case, he would have been suspended for 30 days. The title being taken off of him was somewhat of a precautionary measure due to his health (which turned out to be elevated enzymes of the liver).

HHH and Stephanie's baby

Stephanie McMahon gave birth to a baby daughter by the name of Aurora Rose Levesque earlier last night. It was originally estimated that the baby would weigh in at 9 1/2 pounds, however, it turned out to be 8lbs 7oz. Nonetheless, the baby is quite large and thus Stephanie may have given birth via C-section. Also, Stephanie was dilated enough that going to the hospital right away was considered prudent.

Prior to Aurora's birth, jokes floated around backstage about how the baby was destined to be a wrestler. As it turns out, the baby is a girl and the jokes will probably be put to rest now. Both Stephanie and Hunter didn't know the gender of the baby until she actually gave birth. They wanted to keep it a surprise.

More on RVD's suspension

Apparently the marijuana-and-pills drug bust for Rob Van Dam couldn't of come at a worse time. RVD has always been stuck under the "glass-ceiling" since coming to WWE for various reasons well documented in the past, but his recent run in the new ECW has reportedly started to change that stigma.

The original idea called for RVD to have a ECW World title run that lasted at least through the early stages of 2007, to help establish ECW and RVD as the top guy in the promotion. However, the recent drug bust caused for what was said to be necessary changes and in an immediate fashion.

The word came in almost immediately that RVD would be stripped of both the WWE and ECW titles, which he held at the time, when he violated the WWE Wellness policy. The only real decisions left to make were how to take the belts off of him and how to adjust plans for upcoming television already centered around him since he was forced to be suspended, without pay (which will cost him somewhere in the neighborhood of $25,000) for 30 days.

Just prior to RVD and Sabu's arrest, WWE had plans to give Sabu a really big push (which could and probably are still in the cards for the near future), but it was RVD as a main level player that was effected by the situation. Vince McMahon personally started ignoring a lot of the commotion regarding RVD being in the top spot, and looked to be getting behind him for having great main event matches and carrying the position well. All of that, according to a few sources, is night and day changed now.

One of the contributing factors to RVD being punished worse than Sabu other than the fact that the actual legal charges on both were worse off on RVD than Sabu, was the difference in their reactions. RVD was said to be acting as if nothing major had happened, while Sabu was completely apologetic - even pleading his case to Vince McMahon personally.

Randy Orton Reveals The Reason Behind His 60-Day Suspension

The reason behind Randy Orton's 60-day unpaid suspension back in April has finally been revealed - and it was revealed by Randy Orton himself. As it turns out, the "straw that broke the camel's back" that lead to his suspension was when he decided to smoke a rolled marijuana cigarette backstage at the March 28, 2006 SmackDown taping in The Kemper Arena in Kansas City prior to WrestleMania. Bruce "Brother Love" Prichard found out about it and he notified WWE officials. Orton was already in hot water with management and that action was the final straw that lead to his 60-day suspension.

Orton revealed the reasoning behind his suspension in the September 2006 issue of WWE Magazine - which features Trish Stratus on the cover. Here is Orton's response regarding the suspension:

Why are you always acting like such an ass?

I'm not anymore. Not since my 60-day unpaid suspension. My problems came to a head when I decided to smoke a joint and someone smelled it and stooged me off. You know who you are, so if you're reading this, thanks. But I also had a few outbursts of anger on the road. I get loud and verbally abusive. But I've nipped that part of me in the bud.

How so?

I attended an anger management clinic in Atlanta. It cost 15 grand for a four-week stay. I had to live down there on the campus. The first week I was there, I was like, OK, I'll do what I have to do to get out of here." But then I started to realize, wow, I was wrong in a lot of these situations. I just got this reputation of being hard to work with, being a dick and everything in the book. But the truth is, I don't flip out anymore.

Orton also talks about his run-ins with Rochelle Loewen and Amy Weber, being "God's gift to women," getting "too much too soon," fines, and much more in the latest issue of WWE Magazine.

I hope Randy learned some things at his mangement clinic because that dude has some issues (crapping in a divas bag, calling girls the c-word, smoking weed on the job, and that's just the stuff I know about who knows what else he did that never made public news).

DX & nWo Featured On WWE Survivor Series Poster

Several people have e-mailed me over the past few days sending in and asking about a poster that has been released for WWE Survivor Series this fall. The poster itself features an all black background with the nWo logo, but overtop of that logo is the spray painted DX logo. Underneath that we see the wording, "Are You Ready." The poster looks very legit and I would say whoever made it would have to be a pro, but as far as I know it is a fake. First off, I believe it may be a bit early for the Survivor Series Poster to leak onto the internet. Secondly, I see no chance Vince McMahon would be able to recruit the "old" members of the nWo to make the angle work, seeing as how many of them are now in TNA. Also, it would just be too good to be true to ever see two of the most prominent factions in all of wrestling feuding in a great Survivor Series match, even though they may be past their primes. However, with all of that being said you can be the judge of whether or not you believe the poster is a fake or legit.

His own fate twisted
By Craig Tello

After spending three years combating his personal demons, a refocused and rehabilitated Jeff Hardy is prepared to return to the place where he began his career as a teenager.

WWE.com has learned that WWE officials have rehired former Superstar Jeff Hardy, more than three years after his release from the company.

For this unique athlete, it has been a turbulent, arduous road back to WWE. In 2003, just as Hardy began to make his ascent to the top of World Wrestling Entertainment, he came crashing down, reportedly because of a drug dependency.

After showing up late for several WWE events and demonstrating a deterioration in his in-ring performance, Hardy’s last match in WWE was on March 24, 2003. In May of that year, after refusing to go into drug rehabilitation, Hardy was subsequently released from WWE.

In 1993, at the age of 16, Jeff and his brother Matt, 19, started working for WWE, wrestling against contracted WWE Superstars. It wasn't until 1998 that the brothers were given full-time WWE deals. That year, the Hardy Boyz almost instantly became top-tier contenders in WWE's tag team division.

Both talented risk-takers with dynamic in-ring chemistry, the Hardyz revolutionized sports-entertainment, employing wild aerial maneuvers that did damage to both their opponents and themselves. Capturing both the WWE and WCW Tag Team Championships, the Hardyz made their strongest impact in their epic Tables, Ladders and Chairs Matches with the Dudley Boyz and Edge and Christian.

Shortly after the WWE brand extension in 2002, Matt and Jeff were split apart and Jeff found success as a singles star on RAW. After the split, Hardy began to display his most unorthodox side, adding uniquely colored body paint to his ever-changing hair color.

Perhaps the highlight of his singles career was his Ladder Match with Undertaker for the WWE Championship in July 2002. In a match that no one believed Hardy could win, Jeff brought his abilities to a higher level unlike anyone had ever seen in him before. That night, Jeff did not walk out as WWE Champion, but he earned the respect of not only The Phenom, but of all who watched the contest. People started to acknowledge Hardy’s true talent – a talent that was curtailed and snuffed out due to his addiction.

Holding a number of championships, Hardy was en route to reaching the summit of his sports-entertainment career until it all came to an abrupt end due to his erratic behavior and drug use.

Overcoming addiction is arguably the greatest victory of Hardy’s life. And as a renewed Jeff Hardy prepares to reintroduce himself to WWE fans, one can only expect Hardy to earn his greatest career victories and even larger triumphs when he makes his long-awaited return home.

Bound by blood and fate

Refocused and rehabilitated, Jeff Hardy is prepared to join his brother, Matt, as he returns to the place where he began his career 13 years ago.

As reported on WWE.com, former Superstar Jeff Hardy has been rehired by World Wrestling Entertainment, more than three years after his release from the company. Showing up late for a slew of WWE events and with his in-ring performance slipping, Jeff’s sudden descent three years ago was reportedly the result of a poisonous drug addiction. After refusing to go into drug rehabilitation, Hardy was released from WWE in May 2003.

WWE.com spoke with a reflective Jeff Hardy who was driving through his home state of North Carolina with his brother, SmackDown Superstar Matt Hardy. Talking honestly about his release from WWE in 2003, Jeff said he isn’t as focused on where he’s been, but rather on where he’s going.

“I didn’t need [rehab],” said Jeff adamantly. “When I was released from WWE, it wasn’t just about demons or demonic metaphors that relate to drug use. I failed numerous drug tests because I just didn’t care…didn’t care to wrestle anymore. A sense of me believes that it might have just been a way out [of wrestling],” he added. "That’s in the past, and that’s forgotten about. I’m in a positive place now…and that’s what motivates me.”

Intent on starting anew, Jeff said he doesn’t want to be referred to as “the one who overcame his demons” when he returns to WWE.

“I’d really like to drop that,” he said. “I’d rather it be: ‘He’s back, and he’s full throttle’.”

Having lost his mother at an early age, Jeff said that being off the road for the last few years has afforded him the opportunity to become close with his and Matt’s father.

“I’ve been hanging out with my dad,” Jeff said. “[We] have spent a load of time together; we’ve built a good pasture. One of the most important things to me in life right now is to making sure my dad lives his life to its fullest for the rest of his life.”

Bound to his family, Jeff explained that he’s watched his brother, Matt, on television every week since his departure and he is looking forward to once again joining his former partner in the ring and on the road.

“Two things [Matt and I] have in common more than anything are Pearl Jam and [sports entertainment]. Our creativity when it comes to wrestling is pretty much unparalleled. The things we created – the moves, the new ideas – it just flowed.”

Possibly no one is more excited about Jeff’s return to sports-entertainment and WWE than Matt Hardy.

“Regardless of what’s happened – through thick and thin – [Jeff and I are] there for each other. WWE is his home, and he was put on this earth to wrestle,” said an elated Matt. “I’m ecstatic that he’s coming back home. It makes me look forward to the future.”

The former WWE and WCW Tag Team Champions are equally excited about potentially teaming together and displaying the dynamic in-ring chemistry that both electrified WWE fans and forever altered the WWE tag team landscape.

“What I’ve missed most are the massive crowds that you perform in front of,” Jeff explained passionately. “I’ve missed that more than anything. [The feeling is] untouchable.”

“I would love nothing more than to team with Jeff again,” added Matt. “He loves to go out there and entertain fans and inspire people and tell them they can beat the odds. We were two normal guys who made it to the big time. We want to send that message out to other people. If you have a dream,” he said, “you can chase it. You can do it.”

After watching from home for three full years, the free-spirited Jeff Hardy will soon relive his passion in a WWE ring. Whether it be in singles action or teaming with his brother, he anxiously awaits the chance to take new risks, reach new heights and pursue new championships, even if they are suspended 20 feet above the ring.

“I’m ready to jump off bigger ladders and go through thicker tables,” Jeff said. “I just gotta let it fly.”

Nikkala made me do it!
I just marked out reading that Jeff Hardy story. Man, I'm looking forward to that!

you know, i never liked Jeff Hardy, always thought he was a really sloppy wrestler.
weird thing is, i'm actually glad to hear he's coming back... seeing the Hardy Boyz back would be great.

actually, i'm just wishing the WWE could be like it was 6 years ago.

someone who does look like a sloppy wrestler is Batista. it's like he's afriad of getting hurt or something. just seems slower then he was before. like on smackdown last week it looked like he hurt his leg again from giving Mr. Kennedy the Batista Bomb. just hope he gets back to how he was before he got injured.

Jeff will job for a few months after the Hardy's fall apart and then crawl back to TNA 6 months from his WWE rehiring. IMO

When Jeff Hardy Finnaly appears on TV it should be on Smackdown with Matt and Ashley, who would replace Lita and they would have a Hardy Boys reunion

They would dominate the Smackdown Tag Team division, cause think about it. are there really any decent tag teams on Smackdown?

Unforgiven 2006: Trish Stratus’ Last Match?, John Cena/Edge

According to a media release sent out by WWE, John Cena vs. Edge for the WWE Championship will be the main event for this year’s WWE Unforgiven PPV on September 17, 2006.

Also, there is a lot of talk that Trish Stratus will be involved in a match at the PPV that will somehow write her out of the storylines for a while. She is getting married in late September and is said to be exploring her options for her future. Whether she will return to WWE or wrestling in general is unknown.

Goldberg on TNA would be sweet. i miss seeing him wrestle.

I agree...the one thing that TNA doesn't have is a smash mouth wrestler it would be great see a smash mouth wrestler in TNA. If Goldberg goes to TNA I hope they would use his character similar to the way WCW used Goldberg's character instead of the way WWE horribly used Goldberg.
