WWE Raw & Smackdown Weekly Thread

I actually ordered SummerSlam this past Sunday, and ended up feeling ripped off and disappointed. That show, along with this week's Raw and SmackDown, made me realize a few things:
1) John Cena vs. CM Punk is the only compelling thing they can do with their full-time roster. Everyone else that I would pay to see is either part-time (Lesnar, Rock, HHH, Undertaker, etc.) or no longer with the company at all.
2) Daniel Bryan has no direction whatsoever, and it's a shame because he has been getting some of the best crowd reactions for months now.
3) Title reigns are getting longer, but now mean less. Layla has been divas champion for over 4 months, yet they hardly even let her on TV. It's a damn shame.
4) Eve can wear a dress that makes her look fat and still be sexy.

i caught the end last night, they are trying their best to make Punk a heel,even though it's like "through his eyes he is just doing things for HIMSELF", didn't they run this gimmick with him already? when he had a bodyguard or something about a year or so ago? the guy was HUGE as a face just leave him a face! i guess they need to heel turn him cause who else is there to be the heel? and a damn good one... the BEST IN THE WORLD!
Just looking at the list of characters from the WWE13 game that was posted by DSOTM73- i think the only true heels that they have are Big Show and the MIZ. where is daniel bryan? face ?? Heel ?? just a gimmick character at this point?? someone to make a mockery of week after week?
It was bound to happen once they've ran through Big Show and Kane, the monster guys can only get the main event spot every so often. And they continually make guys like Ziggler, Del Rio, Miz, etc. look weak against the top guys - no reason for it, either. Barrett needs to be in the fold, and the last time he fought Cena he was getting buried, literally, under chairs.
That makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. It could be a pretty good match, but as a WM match it means nothing. Why would you have 'Taker put over a part-timer to end the streak?
Whoa, where did that come from? Nobody said that!
Did anyone watch Raw tonight? The show overall was bland, but that ending was the best one I've seen all year. It was intense as hell. CM Punk choking out Lawler, yelling at him to call him "BEST IN THE WORLD" with blood all over his face is the type of thing you never see these days.
That was my point. Why have the the match if nobody is going to buy even the possibility of 'Taker losing it? At least with Triple H there was a doubt about the outcome because he could have put himself over as an ego trip. You have to have some sort of suspense or the match doesn't matter.
You don't watch Taker matches at Wrestlemania for the outcome. You watch them to see one of the best ever steal the show.
i watched,i thought the ending match was boring,anti-climactic ....as did the dead crowd! there was no heat whatsoever on that fight cause it had no implications-you knew lawler wasn't going to win,it was just a one-sided beat up someone to beat up someone match.
i found the best part of the show was Kane going over his life starting at childhood! "i buried my brother alive.........twice!"
i think they need to stop with the mocker of daniel bryan and get him back to being a top guy,he was that for a time wasn't he??!
There were rumors that CM Punk was gonna drop the title to Cena, Cena drop the title to Rock at RR and it would be Rock vs Punk at Wrestlemania. Whether this happens or not is anyone's guess.
Seems like week after week, WWE gets more and more stale while TNA continues to get better and better. I know this is a WWE Board and I'm ah lifelong fan of WWE myself, but they need to start stepping things up. They've got plenty more talent they can use on both rosters, but yet it's constantly the same people. People like McIntyre and such have to constantly compete on Superstars or are forced to job matches on Raw or Smackdown. It's time for new faces to be in the mold, not just the same ones every week.
They won't start pushing the pace until they believe they have legitimate competition. Of course, people who watch TNA know that they are legitimate, but since they're so much younger than WWE, people don't want to acknowledge it. WWE hasn't been very edge-of-your-seat since they competed with WCW. Once Vince bought it in '01, they lost any competition. Stephanie McMahon has been in charge of the creative department since '02, and, well, you know how it's been for this past decade.
i am not sure if this came over for everyone watching RAW or just locally (im in NJ) NJ/NY area
but they showed a commercial for the last RAW of the year in the tri-state area on OCT 22 at the IZOD center
and the main event is a 8 man tag team with (if i remember this correctly) John Cena/CM Punk/Sheamus/Randy Orton Vs The Big Show/Dolph Ziggler/Daniel Bryan/Alberto Del Rio ........ how can almost 2 months away they promote the main event of the show? or is it just said and that "CARD IS SUBJECT TO CHANGE"?

^ They just give a b.s. card to entice people into buying tickets to the show. They don't really know what it's going to be yet. As you said, "Card subject to change", as it says on the screen during the advertisment. They all say that, so then they can say whatever they want. That match is still possible, but that's all.
I know that for SmackDown, they have the advertised main event as a dark match after the television taping is finished. Not sure about Raw though.
