Bill Pullman totally saved the day after that Alien invasion, but his inability to get simple interstellar defense legislation passed before then was what caused the problem in the first place. Worst president easily. Followed by George W. Bush, who traded Sosa.

obama for me

Interesting, none for Bush 41 and none for Kennedy.

I wonder if that is performance based or the fact that they didn't stir up the opposition.

I can see that more for Bush, but I thought Kennedy had more of a response from the opposition.

Obama by long shot. Trillion dollar deficits, no budget for over 3 years, 3 years of stagnant unemployment, the worst economic recovery since WW2. 3 of the most retarded and poorly thought out laws in the history of the country- The "STIMULUS PACKAGE" , Obamacare, and Dodd/Frank. He inherited a recession when it was 13 months old and couldnt even ride a recovery. He lost our AAA credit rating. On top of that he has lost the entire Middle East. Health care costs have skyrocketed and LESS people have healthcare than they did when he took office. We have $3.25 gas at 9% unemployment. Cherish these times because you will never have a president this bad again in your lifetime, Republican or Democrat. He is someone you will be able to tell your grandchildren about. The worst sinve Herbert Hoover.

Darth nailed it right on the head. Well said, darth!

I forgot some things about Obama.

How about the fact that he intentionally allowed guns to get in the hands of narco terrrorists, which were then used to kill our own border agents? How about the fact that he signed an executive order to shut down Guantinamo Bay his first day in office, and the dam thing is still open!! He allowed atleast two non government foiled terrorist attacks to occur on our soil. He prosecuted patriotic CIA agents for enhanced interroration techniques, which helped lead us to Bin Laden, which he shamelessy took credit for.

Why save the world, when you can rule it?
Real hard to choose (Bush II as a kneejerk reaction, obviously.).
So I think I'll let the yanks choose and not vote in the poll myself. Their country, their president, the world's problem :(

Of all time...
#1. Herbert Hoover
#1. Franklin Delano Roosevelt
#1. Obama.

All rubbish, the lot of them.

Roosevelt's "New Deal" wasn't a bad idea, but still milk-and-water.

Rich, Masonic charlatans who cynically mislead and con their population.

If anything, worse even that UK "Prime Ministers".

Don't waste your vote on them - it only encourages them to stand for office.

What did Herbert Hoover do that W. Bush didn't do? I guess you could lay the Smoot-Hawley Tariff on Hoover (or "Hoot-Smalley", as Michele Bachmann says ), but then you have to lay the unfunded, nation building war in Iraq on W. Bush. Both allowed or supported actions and policies that led us into severe depressions/recessions though. So I put them ahead of anybody else.

But if you want to go back as far as Hoover, I'd put Hoover at #1, W. Bush at a close #2 and Warren G. Harding at #3... tied with Nixon (the Corruption Twins). Thus far, I'd put Obama somewhere in the middle, along with Bush I, Truman and Eisenhower.

People like you answer based solely on ideology. But as far as effectiveness and what they've done for (or to) the country, those are my answers, political ideology aside. Leading the nation into depressions/recessions easily gets your name near the top of the list, in my book.

P.S. Since you put "Of All Time" as your header, that tells me a lot about your knowledge (or lack thereof) of American history. Andrew Johnson, anyone?

Worst- Nixon, W.... Carter I get the drift in some ways....
Best - Kennedy and Clinton

Presidents dont "lead" nations into recessions. Asset bubbles such as housing and tech lead nations into expansions and then recessions. Recessions happen no matter how good policies are. They are necessary for the economy to continue to grow longterm. Presidents, governors, and congresses can make recessions worse and prolonged with bad policies however.

So by your logic, as Presidents (and their policies) do not lead nations into recession, they also do not lead nations into recovery?

As you seem to be trying to take away the blame from the Bush administration for the last recession, you will also have to take away the credit from the Reagan administration for the recovery of the 1980's. I don't mean to put words into your mouth, so is that what you are claiming?

BTW, I agree with your last statement. But as you typed that, it seems that you would have realized the effect that those same policies have on the creation of asset bubbles, economic shocks which can lead to recession or depression or just general economic growth: GDP = C+I+G+(X-M)

It's naive (and logically invalid) to believe that a policy, or set of policies, could make a recession worse, but could not set it in motion to begin with.
