Worst Movie Ending Ever

I hated A.I. where they seemed like they didn't know what to do with the movie halfway through it. But then again, it might have been good they just ended it to put everybody out of their misery coz the story wasn't going anywhere.

I might take some heat for this but the final installment of LoTR had a terrible ending. I mean that thing just dragged on and on for about an hour more than it should've. I know a lot of the things at the end there were necessare but some were just stupid. If I remember correctly there was one part where a few of the hobbits were bouncin around on a bed like queers for at least 5 minutes and then that part where the hobbits were saying goodbye to the old wizard dude (gandolf?) and they made it like 15 minutes....

Yeah, LotR... they put in about 3 false endings. If I recall correctly they even faded to black a couple of times only to reopen elsewhere. *snore*

I would have to say the worse ending to a movie that I have recently seen would be War of the Worlds...the Tom Cruise one. I mean, whats the deal with the aliens being able to create technology that allows them to ride lightning bolts THROUGH the ground but they can't create some type of filtration system on there giant mechanical walking food processors? UV light much? How'd they know they could breathe our air? They had to have tested it. And it takes them like 2 minutes to keel over and die...all at once. This made sense in Independence Day when they take the alien craft into the mothership and upload a virus but what caused the mass extinction on cue in this case?

That truck rocked!

yeah ! A '55 Pete inline 6 cummins :1orglaugh.

* I like the part where the :anonymous truck driver signals dennis ''coast clear for passing'' (on a long curve - blind) and nearly head on into an oncoming car he goes ! :D

Now dennis is really really mad !

What the hell was that thing that weaver was driving, a Dodge Dart "Swinger" inline 6 ?
Speilberg coulda woulda shoulda issued him a '70 'Cuda or Challenger 426 Hemi or 440 / 6pak rides . . of course it would have been an entirely different movie then :( Ha ! . . Ha Ha !)

spielberg sure knows how to fuck up movies. A.I. coudlve been great if KUBRICK stayed alive and finished it. its a shame that speilberg had anything to do with Kubricks' movie.

I still have to say Invasion Of The Body Snatchers. Sure it was shocking and inventive. But it sucked. No happy ending. I like it when we beat those alien fuckers.

A 1970 Plymouth Valiant (weenie car)

Here's a shot I like to call "Get off my ass!" (Note the rare shot of the trucker's face!)

Movie Trivia:
When Carey Loftin, playing the truck driver, asked Steven Spielberg what his motivation was for tormenting the car's driver, Spielberg told him, "You're a dirty, rotten, no-good son of a bitch." Loftin replied, "Kid, you hired the right man."

Plenty more on IMDB

Back to the thread topic, as far as the ending goes, what resonates most in my mind is that trucker furiously shifting down gears as he heads for the cliff. I swear, even after he goes over, he's still pointlessly downshifting! :1orglaugh

:wtf:
Sorry,I don't know what the fuck you are talking about.A.I. was great from beginning to end.

And Spielberg knows how to fuck up movies?Again,:wtf:

Id have to say WOTW. Tom cruise's son runs over a hill seconds before theres a mass explosion and lives. Fuckin stupid.

While I agree with you on your choice of movie with the worst ending, isn't the scene you mentioned like halfway through?

And yes, it was fucking ridiculous that he survived that... an entire army brigade blown to bits and this whiny son'bitch makes it home to momma before his dad, (who was on his way there the entire fucking time!) even gets there. Wha?

Vantage Point
you can kidnap the USA president, killign a lot of people in the process, and you can't kill a simple child? c'mon...

"I Am Legend" had the worst ending to a movie I've seen recently...and I'm going to call "Hancock" the worst movie ever simply from the dumbass trailers I've seen thus far. I wouldn't go see that film for all the whiskey in Ireland..

C'mon Will Smith. Please read a script before you decide to do a movie. Don't just cash a check....

Ye I Am Legend had a really crappy ending. In fact, I didn't like how the plot turned out at all. Would much rather see further solitude or exploring. Way more interesting and less generic than just him finding some semi-hot girl and be hero. Also, it was extremely corny the way they tried to make it as if it was the real world and he actually saved it.

American Psycho has a pretty stupid ending too.

Million Dollar Baby had by far the worst ending I have ever seen. It wasn't simply because she died. I can deal with a tragic ending. This was more than tragic. It was nihilistic. Clint Eastwood basically told the world that if you can't do the things you love anymore, you might as well just kill yourself. Every athlete who becomes paralyzed. Every scientist who has a stroke. Every painter who goes blind. They should all just take a gun to their head, because life isn't worth living anymore. Don't even bother trying. Horrible.

A close second would have to be Seraphim Falls. I got to the end of that movie and had two thoughts: 1) WTF?, and 2) I want the last 2 hours of my life back. I can't even express what made it so bad. The movie just had no point all the way through. You keep hoping that there will be some dramatic moment at the end that will somehow make it all worthwhile... and then it ends. And there's nothing. Not a damn thing.

What?! Obviously you didn't get the movie then, especially the ending. At the end of the movie it was all in his head. The things he said he did never happened.

The Mist...completely different from the book

I didn't read the book but I hated the ending of this movie to,especially when they were marketing it as a controversial ending when it was just pretty lame.
