Can you explain why you think it is "one of the best and most exciting sports you can watch"?

When you think of the supporters in south Africa last year, how many people went to see the matches and how excited they were to have such a huge event held in their country. When you think of the flair of Messi or the passion of every player. The passion and emotion in a big game is written across everyones faces. If it is the last game of the season to win the title or the final of the world cup,the joy of winning is overwhelming

With over 3.5 billion fans worldwide, football ("soccer") is the most popular sport on the planet. It always ranks at the top of the majority of the credible lists published.

Usually, popularity is measured based on the "number of viewers/fans

The fact that it is the most watched sport in the world speaks for itself

Just realised how well i answered this.

Not feelin' the man suits at all.

I think the Women's World Cup was the most exciting sports event this summer and certainly this year. The Stanley Cup Final series really wasn't all that exciting as a whole (Game 1 to Game 7). The NBA Finals was not exciting; it was more amusing to see if the Heat would win or lose.

Given the NFL and NBA lockouts which amount to nothing more than Billionaires versus Millionaires...people were hungry for real, genuine excitement and the US Women delivered the goods.

I expect a pretty significant interest in the WPS for the rest of its season, and carryover interest for the entire sport for the Summer Olympics next year.

Japan is ranked 4th in the World according to FIFA's rankings, so it is not right to call it a chokejob. It would be a chokejob if Japan was 40th in the world.

I think the future of Women's soccer is totally exciting and on the rise. Look at all the quality teams -- U.S., Germany, Japan, England, France, Sweden, Brazil. Maybe a country like Holland will get its act together, same with Spain and Argentina, and put out a legit women's side.

I want to go see Hope and Wambach play in person. For me the MVP is Megan Rapinoe. She absolutely played like Cesc Fabregas, imo...those crosses, the ability to dribble around opponents, hold the ball, etc...she's a fantastic player.

I think womens football doesnt compare to mens. I could be wrong as i dont watch womens football, infact the final was the only whole game of womens football i have actually seen. Alex morgans goal was a really good one, her pace and power was brilliant to get on to the ball ahead of the defenders and then send the ball across the keeper was excellent. However i think the strength in mens football makes it much better. The way players out muscle each other is great. I only really watched the womens final because football is football and i love it, plus there was no mens football on. The coppa America is great and i feel that it is better than the womens game. I have no idea of any of the female players so i may be wrong in what i am saying and as i say i have only watched one womens game the whole way through. But i think mens football is so much better because of the power and strength you need at the top level. Plus watching players like Messi, Iniesta, Kaka etc is just amazing
