Why Obama?

Re: Why Obama?

Why NOT Obama ? I wouldn't be opposed to Obama, so much, if he would be elected into the Office Of The Presidency, had there not been a dem supermajority waiting for him. Do any of you voters know how self serving and non representative a supermajority can be ? Supermajorities in governance essentially rule, free of the checks and balances. You see, there is no debate ! whatever Obama wants, Obama gets ! Mob Rule, do you really want that ?

I am hardly in love with obama! matter of fact I am not really a fan, but he is the logical alternative too the republicans!

If there was another party that had a chance too keep both of them out of the white house I would certainly be interested in other choices, but being the left or the right?? I am choosing the left!!

For crying out loud What other choice do I have?? I am just being realistic!! no hard feelings against you (DE) of course!!

I am just trying to understand what the people who vote republican have seen, experienced, or expect too change from the last 8 years of republican :bs:???

Does the war in the wrong place costing us 3 BILLION A WEEK NOT AFFECT THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA??? it doesn't matter too bush / McCain supporters that it is a NEEDLESS WAR IN IRAQ??? the economy is for shit!! people who vote republican can't see the results of bush?? pubs don't think bush is responsible??

C'mon, I mean what will it take for REPUBLICANS TOO REALIZE BUSH DIDN'T WORK!! AND McCAIN won't work either and if McCain wins NOTHING GOOD will come of his 4 years in office and hope too hell nothing happens too him if he wins!! OH NO that RETARDED DUMBASS palin will be our president!!

Well you can't see it either, but if you feels very pasionate for what you believe and see on Obama, I respect that.

There's nothing realistic about how Obama is making all them promises, wait the only thing realistic is more people are going to spread the wealth.

BY ALL MEANS NECESSARY!!! KEEP THE IGNORANT RETARDED RELIGIOUS ZEALOT OUT OF THE FUCKIN WHITE HOUSE!!! she is the TERRIFYING REALIZATION OF McCAIN WINNING!! :nono: :ban:

THE WORLD WILL BE IN GRAVE DANGER IF SHE BECOMES PRESIDENT!! :nono: :ban2:

Yeah and let's get the wayyyy out there leftist who's priorities are going green, even if it means paying more for gas or coal or to be forced to go green and for the gay movement, forget about National Defense, economy and tax breaks that's wayyy to unimportant to them as is the fairness of everyone equal. (trust me Colorado has been taken over by them already)

BTW you are not electing Paling for President, you don't know when McCain is gonna die and if anything you should be worried about Barack lack of experience, is like electing a nurse with barely two years or experience to become the head of the Hospital.

What concerns me the most about Obama is that he's selling more bullshit than McCain and when it comes to honor what he promised, well don't be disapointed or trying to blame Bush or someone else for him breaking his promises.

McCain opposed Bush on many ocassions and went against his own party, if he voted with Bush on some stuff then How many of the majority democrats voted along with them in order for it to become law? So the all democrats are like Bush?

Palin shouldn't be on the ticket period. That was like marrying the prettiest cheerleader without actually taking her on a date first.

While McCain opposed Bush on some issues, such as the Bush administration's constant blocking of the 9/11 Commission's investigation headed by Tom Kean of NJ, his basic politics ARE the republican party's and he has spent a lot more time bashing Obama with ridiculous stereotypes and fallacies like Joe says he's a socialist, (Note: they didn't say it, Joe said it), than actually having any clarity about how he will work out the details of the Obama plan he has so recently adopted.

My neighbor said, "McCain is the Manchurian Candidate". No, I didn't say it, don't quote me.

Bush has been so bad, (aka republican party), why would anyone want to risk that again? With his approval rating the lowest in history hovering around 20%, most people by far can now see the blatently obvious of which volumes have been written.

The author of the book I'm finishing up today claims that, "If George Bush were sodomizing a goat on the front lawn of the White House, conservatives would say, That just proves his love of animals"!

Tell your neighbor that in the new manchurian candidate movie they guy happens to be black, portrayed by none other than Denzel Washington.

I appreciate the way you protected the identity of that sodomozed poor goat.

Well I am going to get my free coffe from starbucks by just showing my "I voted" stiker wanna join me and be friends again? :hatsoff:

So what he was black. As in most things in this campaign the guys actual race shouldn't count for anything or override any perception of his intellect.

In the 64 version he was white.

Rain check on the coffee, I just made a fresh pot. Thanks

The difference in the two movies is a sign of the times of each.I have only seen the original(seen it several times) and for the life of me don't think there was any blacks at all in it that I remember. In 1962 blacks were for the most part invisble in movies and TV unless they were playing maids or servants.Wasn't till the later 60s that started to change. We really have made progress in the last 40 years for someone like Barak to even be considered for President ,much less be on his way to winning which I think he is.An historic event which all americans should be proud of.

At least we all want the best, only thing is we have different perspectives on what the best is.

Well stated. After tonight, I would hope that we can all get behind the new president and, through his leadership, see the manifestation of bipartisan efforts to enact the needed changes that will improve the current situation, regardless of our political leanings. To have another failed administration would be in the best interest of neither right nor left nor anyone in between....only to those who wish us harm.

The secret ingredient? MY BALLS
Obama is having his rally here in Chicago at Grant Park tonight. I wonder if it's such a good idea for him to be having an outside rally, where any crazed maniac with a gun can get to him. Call me a worry-wart, but I'm kind of worried about tonight.

I have dealt with the Secret Service & it doesn't work that way as they have secured this area weeks in advance. Everyone will have to pass 'checkpoints' to enter the Park enclosure, but God knows what will go on outside this area & away from the candidates.

Not saying a determined person can't get to a elected official, however.

As far as I know, from what I've read in the paper and seen on the news, you just have to print out an e-ticket to get in. Then, they check your ticket and ID at a checkpoint, make sure you don't have "anything" on you and then let you in.

That's not what I'm worried about though. Grant Park is a HUGE place and it's not that far from extremely large skyscrapers, which could potentially be a perching point for a sniper. Obviously, they'll have armed guards on the look-out for such things, but...dude, downtown Chicago is gigantic place. There's a lot of places that someone could hide. Obviously, I hope it doesn't happen, but I'm just kind of on edge about it.

I agree a really ,really determined person can get someone if they wish, but not as dangerous as cruising the streets 10mph in an open convertible.

Are you going? It would be a trip if Obama loses & people there absolutely lose their freaking minds & trash Chicago:eek: especially after the built up frustration from 2000 & '04.

Hell NO, I'm not going. :1orglaugh There's going to be soooo many people and it's going to be insane. It would probably take me 3 hours just to get home from there, due to the amount of people taking the train/bus. So, nah...I'll sit here at home, thank you.

I think Obama's acceptance speech will be one of the seminal political moments of my lifetime. It should be an astonishing moment for our country.

Will it be a complete blowout or a comfortable win? Will the Dems secure a filibuster-proof Senate?

Lots of great drama tonight...

Question: what the fuck are we going to do tomorrow with no election coverage and with us stuck with the current presidential albatross for many more months....(go back to wanking?)
