Why America is Finished

Not really, I'd say a large majority....

6.451 billion billion people versus 305 million people (assuming that this estimate of the amount of people in the US at the end of 2009 is correct and that everyone in the US is a member of supporters of a more modern and moderate immigration policy, which obviously isn't the case.)

True, but most of China is desert (the Gobi) and large populations can hardly survive for a longer period of time there. I suggest you read something about the great march of Mao Tse Tung & read about the hardships the people that followed him went through...

Also true, but your birth rate is also higher than any western country in the world, besides Albania and Ireland. (excluding islands in the pacific & carribean which still belong to western countries)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_birth_rate

As for the crime rate, pollution & increased traffic, it's always higher in cities, everywhere in the world. Thuis has little to do with immigration, but with the lack of possibilities for the people living in the city.

If schools are overcrowded then I suggest you build new ones. If hospitals are having financial problems, fund them.

Every major environmental group is also fighting against overconsumption and for the Kyoto Protocol, which the US has neither ratified or withdrawn from.

Considering that a lot of people fled Europe to America during the '40 I doubt that this claim is true. Also read below...

As you can see, immigration had little to do with it.

Germans completed the the first computer (the Suze Z3) and the first American computer (the Atanasoff–Berry Computer) was partly invented by John Vincent Atanasoff, or in Bulgarian, Джон Винсент Атанасов. the son of a Bulgarian immigrant.

The US space program was innitiated because they could take it that the Russians got into space first. If you goolge "NASA russian technology" you'll also see that today the NASA is heavily dependent on Russian technology.

I thought that WWII was partly won thanks to a nuclear weapon? A technology that could have never been succesfully developed (at the time) without the knowledge of a person called Einstein?

:sleep::sleep::sleep:

There's no claims there, those are facts. As you pointed out, America is growing at an alarming rate. So we should just keep taking it in the ass, you suggest??? You want to keep throwing money into the toilet school system that doesn't work? How about you? And a FYI, Wikipedia is the least credible source on the web. Just curious....your'e from the Netherlands? Why are you commenting on the immigration policies of the US? Do you want to use our country as a trash can of sorts for the worlds undesirables?

And a FYI, Wikipedia is the least credible source on the web.

As an independent source, yes, but it wasn't in this case. Check the references if you don't believe it, such as this one. Same data by the looks of it, but sorted numerically on Wikipedia. Credible enough for you?

The Suze Z3 was an electro-mecanical computer. The first PROGRAMMABLE ELECTRONIC computers were the ten Colossus machines used in the UK during WW2.Some Americans worked with them at Bletchley Park and used knowledge from this to design and build the ENIAC computer. The Atanasoff–Berry Computer was not programmable.

If you want to know why America is finished don't turn to gumball machine pundits like Michael Savage, but rather individuals like Noam Chomsky, Chalmers Johnson, Naomi Klein, Paul Krugman, Ralph Nader, David Walker, Gerald Celente, practically every western philosopher e.g. critical theorists, of the past 100 years, Lyndon LaRouche, and ah, yeah. The U.S. has been running on an unsustainable system for a long time.

In that case it's the UK, not the US. Still, it says enough about the credibility of what was posted.

No, just stating that the US being full is a crappy statement. If you want to limit immigration, try to come up with a better excuse.

Blah blah blah, tisp tisp tisp.

This has to be a joke?! This is your response to my post?! Oh my f*****g god. No wonder half the world thinks that most Americans are retards. And that's a really sad thing.

It doesn't really even justify a response,...
You know why you wrote that? Because you don't have a response. You have no idea what to respond to my posting.

...considering that most people know a lot of these ideas/terms are interchangable in many different context.
No, these terms and ideas are not interchangeable! They are defined by science (history, political science, social studies). Just because you and a lot of especially conservative Americans don't know their proper meaning or have no idea how to use them correctly, does not mean, that you can abolish their specified definitions, axioms or theories.

Whether you like it or not, many people consider your type to be a variety of different things: perverts, communist, atheists, murderers (child killers), etc. Just like Michael Savage calls you, in my OP.
My type?! You don't know me, powerpuff girl. You're lumping together peverts, communists, atheist, murderers and on top of that apply this to anyone like me who has a decent political education? Where I come from, that would be considered an insult. If that level of education and argumentation is the future of the US, I'd say 'Good Bye America'.

And if you can in your opinion name me anything, then from now on you're name shall be fruitcake, fruitcake.
And that's the last I'll say in this topic. There's a nice saying in German which goes "Argumentiere niemals mit einem Idioten, denn er zieht dich auf sein Niveau und schlägt dich dort mit seiner Erfahrung." (Never argue with an idiot, because he'll drag you down to his level and beat you with his experience.)

Ummm, that the MAJORITY of it's citizens want to end, or at the very least limit it. That's a bad "excuse"? GTFOH

Your'e rambling. Your'e trying to come off smart, but I'm not sitting here acting like I'm a rocket scientist, nor am I going to submit to you that I don't know what terms like "anarchist" and "communist" and "liberal" stand for. Many people fit under some of these ideologies in different ways/different context. Go back and listen to Savage; he's saying virtually the same thing.

You want to call me 'fruitcake', then your name is charlatan. It's fitting for you. Get lost.

The secret ingredient? MY BALLS
@Bloodshot Scott
You know, it's pretty obvious that you are one of those people who have absolutely no idea, what they're talking about. Mindless repetition of unsubstantial phrases. America is full? Excuse me, but that's a load of bull. A really big load of bull. America still has enourmous potential. Just because most of the money and ressources are misused in (and on) the part of the country that's still running, doesn't mean that one can't evolve and enhance the country. You just have to shift to politics and economy that have lasting effects and achive sustained success. Countrys like Japan (127 million people on 377864 square kilometers), Germany (83 million people on 357023 square kilometers), or Great Britain (60 million people on 242910 square kilometers) still evolve and still let immigrants in. And you want to tell me, that America with just 288 million people on a huge landmass of 9809155 square kilometers is full? I can't even laugh about that statement...

You seem to have it out for BSS for some reason, so allow me to interject...

How can you compare immigration in Japan, Germany or Great Britain to the United States? I can't even laugh about that statement.

Do you realize the amount of people who try to illegally cross the US border on a daily basis? My cousin is an officer for the United States Border Patrol. His station alone, which is responsible for no more than a 5 mile stretch of the border, catches dozens of illegal immigrants every single day. And, that's only in a 5 mile stretch of the border. As well all know, the United States' border is much, much larger than that.

People don't flock to Japan, Germany or Great Britain like they do to the United States. Comparing them is like comparing the fighting skills of Mike Tyson and a 6 year old girl.

ARE you advocating murder ?

You imbecile ! Do you not understand the gift that you have in this nation ?
to respect others with differing opinions free of a government interference ?

You sound like an indoctrinated 15 year old kid !
Murder ? Did you realize what you just said ?

If I had to take a guess, and I'm not clicking on that clip because anything from "stormfront.org" isn't worth the bandwith or time spent poking inevitable holes in the material, but if I had to take a guess, Tubular was probably satirically retorting to the clip. :dunno:

Are we really going to get into a discussion about who shouts louder--liberal commentators or Wacko commentators--or who collects more death threats?

Bush/Rove/Cheney purposely drove the wedge between Conservative/Liberal viewpoints the past 8 years. I applaud Obama for trying to build a consensus but I also worry that the Republicans will be successful in their obstructionist agenda and all that will happen in the next 2 years is 15% unemployment in the nation and even more Republicans losing elections in 2010.

The UK has undergone massive immigration from Eastern Europeans, this isn't illegal as all EU citizens can live where they choose.Nobody knows how many because there's no border control but it's probably about 3 million. This would correspond to 20 million in the US.

Don't overlook that America was MADE by mass immigration , those who got there earlier felt that once they had a place there were too many more coming in.It takes time but the economy will grow to take them.

It's funny that immigrants are starting to leave the U.S. because of the economy. The standard of living just keeps getting worse and worse. Most of the Eastern Europeans think that they will advance here, and then they find themselves working at a bar or in retail and barely able to pay their rent and put food on the table. Some life eh? It's sad actually since a lot of the ones I have met are extremely intelligent university graduates. Too many people, not enough jobs, and it will continue on that path until someone figures out a new system.

I should probably clarify why I say a new system. It's because even if you create more jobs (as the Messiah proclaims he will do) and continue to build and develop through industrialization in order to employee people, this eventually hits a dead end, and is unsustainable, not to mention that it is turning this planet into a pile of contaminated shit. So these world leaders need to take a long look in the mirror and instead of figuring out how best to exploit people, they should figure out how best to manage, maintain, and stabalize this new globally interconnected world we live in.

Immigrants don't leave, they are emigrants if they do.
Your argument about sustainability makes no sense-the people you mention have simply changed places. The planet is sustaining them wherever they are.
The US population was 23 million in 1850,76 million in 1900, 161 million in 1950 and it's now a little over 300 million. These massive increases went hand in hand with rising living standards and life expectancy.

Correspond? Eh, I don't think you can really make that sort of argument when it comes to immigration. That's like saying "2 immigrants moved onto my block this weekend, and that corresponds with 45,000 in New York City, so it's about the same".

Don't overlook that America was MADE by mass immigration , those who got there earlier felt that once they had a place there were too many more coming in.It takes time but the economy will grow to take them.

Technically, almost every country is "made" by mass immigration. What's your point?

I thought conservatives argued that the death penalty wasn't murder.

Devil's advo - What about the "liberals" who "argue that the death penalty wasn't murder" ?

Are you suggesting that liberals and conservatives, alike, march lock step to a particular drum beat ? Take a sample and you'll likely come to find that individuals may identify themselves as one or the other, however, when it comes to particular issues, they're Pick and Choose.

:glugglug: Cheers to classical liberalism :glugglug:

You'll have to explain that one. How does an increase in population result in an increase in the standard of living? To make it easier, let's say five people moved into your house, would your standard of living be higher?

My argument isn't that there have not been any technological advances, obviously there have been, my argument is that this system is not sustainable. It's built on exponential growth, and this is just not possible, for a variety of reasons. Our current systems are systems of exploitation and these standards I'm talking about you can see as it correlates with the buying power of the dollar. Even when you take into consideration inflation, a dollar does not buy what it used to, and it continues to fall. To add to this wages, and more specifically minimum wage, has not risen to match the inflation of the currency. Living standards also went down for many reaons, one in particular has to do with the complete drop off in manufacturing services in the U.S., largely due to corporations moving their factories overseas and hiring immigrants to work under the table, or for dirt wages. What in technical terms is referred to as outsourcing. Free trade has also crippled the working class in the U.S. because they are incapable of competing with 50 cent an hour Chinese workers. America no longer produces anything, and it consumes something like 25% of the worlds resources. See the problem? 300 million out of nearly 7 billion, and they consume a quarter of the planet's resources. How do they do that you might ask? Do you think the will just go on? You think the bartender won't cut off the booze?

Didn't I already mention that I was being cheeky and using a stereotype to make a point? I'm well aware of the fact that people can mix their moral standards as they want, which more or less was the point (at least indirectly, as it had to do with blanket statements based on political labels). I certainly do, though I tend to lean towards what is considered liberal.

I don't care one way or another whether the death penalty is murder or not, that's just a matter of semantics and a waste of time. I'm not against it because it's morally wrong, I'm against it because it serves no practical purpose and some of the arguments for why it is justified can be used to justify essentially anything, ranging from a single murder to a Holocaust-level genocide.

I'm going to ignore the rest of the conversation, as it's really none of my bussiness, but this is just bullshit...
Europe has a population density of Density 70/km² (181/sq mi)
While the US has a population density of Density 31/km2 (80/sq mi)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_population_density
Of the 238 countries listed, you're on a nice 180th place, so no, the US isn't full at all...
Ummm, did you consider fertile land?
A better comparison might be east of the US Mississippi.

Lies, damn lies and statistics. One statistic rarely gives you any of the story.
