Roger Moore.
Timothy Dalton.
Pierce Brosnan.

And in that order.

Or a scotchman!
(yes before all you purists say it I know he had a scotch father & a swiss mother but its still wrong!!)

It's Scotsman, not Scotchman :thefinger

And it's Scottish father, not Scotch father :thefinger :thefinger

Sean Connery took it owned it and made it his own. All the others are imitators to the crown.

Uh-oh. Looks like I'm going to have to stand alone and say George Lazenby is closest to the books. Fleming's Bond is a bore compared to Connery, and Lazenby's wooden performance really matches it. I also liked On Her Majesty's Secret Service: the skiing getaway, the flirting girls, the mountain battle, and the tragic ending.

But my personal favorite was Dalton--I really dig the cruelty of his Bond.

Lazenby was actually pretty good- he just suffered from being in kind of a crappy Bond movie.

I also liked Dalton a lot, as well as Craig, but for me, I liked Roger Moor the best (with a qualifier)- I think Roger Moor was the best Bond in his first two movies. He fell off sharply after that, or at least the movies did.

But before you say "Moonraker", I say "Never Say Never Again"

:D

& being crap. I HATED him, right from the off with his "this never happened to the other fellow" self-referential line (groan)
To be fair I think the producers got it wrong in trying to go for too similar a physical type to Seen Canary. & it would have been better for him to do this as his last film, with the plot bringing his version of 007 to a tragic end.

I like all the Bonds.
But the new Movies with Daniel Craig give me the feeling, that James Bond has grown up with me.
When I was a kid I loved Sean Connery and Roger Moore as Bond. - And still do.

Maybe Connery is the cool and tough hero every boy wants to be. Lazenby is a short attempt to get more serious, but still trying to be like the idol. Moore is kind of puberty, enjoying jokes about sexuality etc.. making fun of what is expected from you. Dalton is fully grown, but still quite unexperienced, trying to be taken serious. Brosnan, extremly professional and detached, a young adult full of self assurance, straight on.

Craig finally self reflecting, between the lines.
Maybe the action often is the main thing you see. Bond as the ruthless fighter and even killer. But if you watch carefully, his face, his expressions, tell a whole different story. He is in doubt, or would be, if he had the time. He is blunted, but doesn't want to. He doesn't enjoy what he does. Killing isn't easy. Killing isn't glorious. And someday you will die with your face in a washing basin at a public toilet. Helplessly twitching.

I really enjoy it in a new, different way.

It's good to be the king...
Sean Connery - best by far.

Lazenby had a tough act to follow, as for Moore, except for Live & Let Die, I thought his other 007 movies sucked...

Craig has made a good start thus far.

I'm not particularly a film buff in any regard, never have been. If that makes me less sophisticated, so be it. Any who....... I know that Connery is the best but Roger Moore was my favourite, the guy is / was just so cool in every way !
