Who’s better? Coldplay or Radiohead

radiohead and coldplay are not anything alike just so you people know. i dont know where that came from but its crazy.

from an artistic point of view radiohead is definitely better. despite their commercial success they have musical ambitions (they have really developed from the alternative rock-background they came from), they are pretty innovative and a source of inspiration for many other bands (although maybe "kid a" was not as revolutionary as some people think, consider late talk talk or bark psychosis). also they have great lyrics and the melodies thom yorke comes up with can hardly be beaten. probably they are also better musicians, technically.
personally i like radiohead's more melancholic style and have always found coldplay kind of boring. coldplay have a slight "indie" attitude but fail to make really serious and deep music.

EXCUSE ME!!!!!!! Do you even know what emo means? Coldplay and U2 are not even close to being emo

I would suggest you take a look at this link and learn what emo is

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emo_(music)

Fall Out Boy and My Chemical Romance are emo, there music is totally different than Coldplay and U2

What I was saying is that from the stereotypical standpoint of what is considered to be a footnote is whiny vocals. I find that Chris Martin whines on a lot of Coldplay songs. I know what emo is. I'm a fan of Husker Du, Fugazi, Jimmy Eat World, Cap'n Jazz, American Football, Weezer, some Dashboard, and Death Cab. Not to mention that I used to work at an alternative radio station

A lot of people don't know it, but Kid A and Amnesiac is/are one album. They just couldn't fit (or didn't) feel they all fit together.

Also, the last song on Kid A, "Motion Picture Soundtrack" was recorded during the OK Computer sessions. They also didn't feel that that track fit on OK Computer. What a dope song.

Anyway, it looks like good news from the Radiohead camp:

NEW ALBUM
While no new Radiohead album is in sight, the band has been road testing new songs during their 2006 tour in Europe and North America. Since completing 2003's Hail to the Thief, Radiohead fulfilled their contract with EMI Records and where under no obligation to release another album.

Various members of the band have stated that there will be a new album, though just when it will be out is unknown. Ed O'Brien told Green Plastic that the band plans on doing some sessions with Nigel Godrich after the tour is over.

If we had to guess when the album will come out, it would be Summer/Fall 2007. Don't hold us to that. ;)

Hope that shit is dope. Everything else that comes out nowadays is LAME. I just don't buy shit anymore.

Ii just ordered the Thom Yorke CD on the internet. I am looking forward to hearing it.

Your'e not gonna like it. I like Amnesiac and I don't really like his solo joint. There are some nice tracks on there i.e. "Black Swan," and "the Eraser." The latter of which Kanye West just took the whole beat/song/chorus and rapped over it on his latest mixtape.

Then again, I hated everything else since Kid A when those came out and now I love them so....

But you said you hated Amnesiac, so I'll bet you hate his solo.

:2 cents:

You want to hear snippets of TY's solo? Here:

sonic youth.

but that's just me.

I agree but between the 2 - RadioHead..

Coldplay is a talented band, but just another Brit-rock band following in the footsteps of U2 (Irish I know), Oasis and Blur...

It had to come down to it- The Velvet Underground takes it all...

hmm, that's like asking is it more fun to watch paint dry or grass grow.

They're both about as boring as lukewarm bath water.

I like Coldplay, they have some pretty awesome songs IMHO.

Oh Lou Reed and The Velvet Underground easily win

Not a fan really of either. Radiohead is better though IMO.
