Chuck Berry for me, your choices: probably Stevie Wonder or Elton John.

Exactly! How the hell Chuck isn't on the list baffles me. He is pretty much a god as far as Rock n Roll is concerned. What about Fats Domino as well? They are in their 80s but they are still alive.

Prince hands down. I would like to see any of these living legends do a cover of Erotic City to change my mind.

You actually didn't put Bob Dylan on that list? :dunno:

I think the answer is self explanitory. The two greatest living music legends right now are both Minnesota natives - Dylan and Prince. :surprise:

prince?
get the fuck out of here.

its without a doubt chuck berry.
followed by mccartney, jagger , keef, townshend, daltrey page, brian wilson, ray davies, johh fogerty, ossie osbourne, tony iommi neil young, roger waters, jon anderson, all the members of deep purple circa 1972, bowie, alice cooper, john lydon, angus young, ric ocasek, tom petty, michael stipe, billy corgan and j mascis of dinosuar jr.( he basically was the role model for most grunge bands)

to me these are the ones alive who influenced rock the most and i really dont know if mick or keith deserve to be on the list and clapton is just a good bluesman who influenced very little.
i also think dylan and springsteen were not too influential either, theyre just unique.

i'd like to thank greg centauro for putting me over the million rep plateau.
maybe soon i will, but not now.

A lot of opinionated posts we have in this thread so far. :dunno:

No biggie, I understand music is a personal thing, like me trying to play Lil Wyte for my hippy cousin and playing Dylan for my boy are both meaningless endeavors. Whatever, I like it all.

I still think Dylan and Prince - if not the BEST musicians alive right now - are the most influential.

Little Richard may not be the best but he belongs on the list.

"He claims to be “the architect of rock and roll,” and history would seem to bear out Little Richard’s boast. More than any other performer - save, perhaps, Elvis Presley, Little Richard blew the lid off the Fifties, laying the foundation for rock and roll with his explosive music and charismatic persona. On record, he made spine-tingling rock and roll. His frantically charged piano playing and raspy, shouted vocals on such classics as "Tutti Frutti", "Long Tall Sally" and "Good Golly, Miss Molly" defined the dynamic sound of rock and roll'
