When members get banned, do you . . .

Legzman

what the fuck you lookin at?
I found a post from him basically flaming all fat people. And going off for nothing. I think that post was the proverbial "straw"

Members don't get banned, Freeones Himself snuffs them out!

I'm a moderator on a Dutch Board, so I don't go after the reason why members are banned. I think I know the WHY...

I just wonder why some get banned once and they stay banned for ever and then there are certain people who I have seen banned several time....one that I know of has been banned over 6 times....makes ya wonder! *runs outa the thread and hides*

wheres doc? I thought I saw him in this thread!?

Mhm...

*leaves thread because cant see doc (and doesnt have anything to contribute to this thread)*

Depends on who it is that gets banned. When I see that ********** has been banned (again), it's really not that shocking, but other times there are posters that have been banned where I do go poking around to see what in the heck this mild mannered board member could have done to get booted.

Do you get any warnings before getting :ban2:?
This is ONE of my forum homes and i'd like to say as long as possible :D
It's pretty active here and i like it that way :nanner:

We are under no obligation to give warnings.

However, we are not "ban happy" - far from it. We most often take bans on a case by case basis for members that are active. (As opposed to someone who joins and immediately posts racist material or trolls or spams.)

I haven't seen a better group of mods anywhere else on the net, no matter what the topic - and I am active on a variety of board types. These guys are the best of the best.

Banned
my friend, "dirtydawg" was recently banned and he can't figure out why. he took some time off from the site for personal reasons, had never said anything too controversial and had never been involved in a flame war or anything, and when he went to log on his screen said "banned. Reason: None given. Date ban will be lifted: Never" .... can anyone shed some light on this? you can look through his last post, he really never did anything wrong, and had been a long time poster. So we were wondering what was up.

Is that a "my FRIEND had a gay dream and hes worried about it" type post...

Sometimes it's a case of quid pro quo...what goes around...but who cares; tis the nature of the Internet, yes??:ban::1orglaugh

If I knew the person, yes, I'll check. I'll admit I tried to find out why a certain member that's currently banned for life was banned (as I obviously won't get an answer from that person & he was banned while I wasn't around), but in other cases it's either obvious or I simply don't care.

I'm curious only when i know the member.

Most of the time, we can see bans comming so i don't check.

Yes I do :D

Especially if I know the banned member, but sometimes even if I dont know them i'll read their final posts to see what happened.

I'm just nosey :hatsoff:
