What about Negative FX,Siege,SSD and the likes?

This is true. Then there were other bands that went more the hardcore route like Slapshot, Life of Agony, and Sick of It All.

I've never really been that big into punk, not that I hate it or anything,I just never got into much of it,but the little that I do like are Operation Ivy,Rudiments,Gorilla Biscuits, would Big Black be considered punk?

Oh,and I forgot to mention Bad Religion.

I don't know if they are considered punk, but Propaghandi is fucking awesome as well.

The pure punk era is long time ago (70-80). I started to listing to bands more from the post punk are or so called hardcore. Nowdays the media is stripping off the punk feeling, abuse it and making money from it.

Here a few of very great bands, saw most of them live on stage. What is even better If you know what I mean.

Cro Mags
Leeway
Killing Time
Sheer Terror
Judge
7 Seconds
SSD
Warzone
Sick of it all
Agnostic Front

Today I like Deftones, the record "the white pony" is awesome.

There are some really great hardcore/punk bands in there Naraku! Great taste, Jawbreaker has always been my hands down favorite, their attitude toward the "judgmental punk" always drew me in, w/ songs like Boxcar and the like. Great band.

-Some others
Nofx
Bad Religion
Propagandhi
None More Black
Kid Dynamite
"Old" AFI
The Lawrence Arms
Hot Water Music
Good Riddance
Smoke or Fire
A couple great new-er punk bands that you may not have heard of:
Title Fight
Young Livers
