What was your favorite candy as a kid?

My favorite gum was Fruitstripe. Remember the Zebra? I'm reaching here but there used to be this rocket looking candy that was shaped like a cone and if you bit into it, your teeth would get stuck. It was multicolored and you could easily stab someone with it. Can't remember what it was called but it was deadly.

i live in Argentina so i had Bon-o-Bon Tita, Rodesia, Tuby 5, Smack, errrrrrr damn they were good i also went for the Snickers i love that one.

<--- Still massively into Pear Drops and Irn Bru bars.

Bottle caps and pop rocks

Dang, I see negator has beat me to the punch with his (?) mention of Marathon bars (aka CurlyWurlys I guess now, but I never heard of those until I searched for Marathons), but yeah, Marathons. Total molar-extractors! Chewy and delicious. Hard to believe Mars opted to stop producing them! Here's some funny info on Marathons:

(No, I'm not a frequenter of this or any similar blog, this was just the first, best link I found about them) They sound like they could be a GREAT porn prop - cowboys, rulers, and challenges to gobble it down as quick as you can:

"Commercials showed Marathon John (Patrick Wayne) riding into a scene. A villain would announce himself as Quick Carl and state something like, “. . . I do everything fast.” Marathon John would toss him a monstrous Marathon bar and challenge Carl to eat it fast.

The bright red package, complete with a ruler on the back, made it stand out in the candy isle [sic] and at the check out during the 70’s."

(If only there WAS a magical candy "isle"!)

Anyway....I was also into Smarties, and good call by Will E on the Chunky bars (didn't they used to make one that only had nuts, without the damn raisins??).

Haha! Oh yeah - Fruit Stripe!!! And the zebra! Do they still make that?

The thing about that gum was that it had a really unique and amazing taste (probably some carcinogenic chemical - haha) for like the first 5-10 mins. but then just turned to bland crap after that... :2 cents:

But I'd still like to have a case of it!

Don't recall the rocket candy - maybe it was regional?

Didn't Marathon bars become Snickers? Curly Wurlys are still as I remember as a kid, though now some folk take it to the Extreme ! Check this out

Whatchamacallit candy bars, Mambos (these fruity-flavored chewy things, like Starburst only better), and my dance teacher used to give us these huge sour balls at the end of class...they were the shit.

Whatchamacallit one of the best candy bars. I think the fruity-flavored chewy things were called Now and Later! Those huge sour balls were sour, they don't have anything that sour today!
