So, as I sit at home on a saturday night painting some fucked up shit...and go through my CD collection and dig out the soundtrack to Blade Runner..one of my favorite movies. Ridley Scott to me is a visual genius.

I always thought that this movie could have had a sequel...but then again, maybe it would have so much over-the-top CGI, that it would look too much like a video game...kinda like "Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow".

Naturally there are other movies out there that could use a sequel or should never have had one made in the first place....any suggestions?

Blade Runner 2 - the Replicant Revolution... It's not going to work
Monty Python's Life Of Brian - The Free Peoples Front of Judean People Have Nothing to Revolt Over... Nah
Indiana Jones And The last Pacemaker - nope.
Donnie Darko 2 - Jet Plane Boogalooo - doubtful
Terminator 4 (s)he's back for more! - tenous

The mario Bros movie should've had a sequel. It certainly gave the impression that it was. What an awsome movie. Bob Hoskins, what a legend

I don't think Rambo First Blood, The Exorcist, or Amityville Horror needed any sequels.

Oh - and there should've definitely been no sequels for this flick:

Just about every movie that has a sequel really shouldn't. But there are sometimes the odd one thats better than the first installment. Example I don't agree with Om3ga here, I think X2, X3 was a lot better than X-Men itself.

I've got nothing against X2 poggy, but I hated X3 - too many characters (some out of character), too many plots (I actually liked DaVinci more, and that was a surprise).

But then some feel I'm just being grouchy about X3 because I used to collect the comic.....

No way. Beverly Hills cop 2 was the best. I sadly have to agree with you on the third one though.

It's hard to make a sequel nowadays let alone a "trilogy". The first movie in any series can be a little rough because it has to do so much. Introduce the characters, tell a story, and have somewhat of an ending just in case it makes no money. Look at the first Terminator...or the first Alien. Their sequels far surpassed the originals box office take.
"Men in Black" should have only been one movie.
And why the hell is there a Dr. Doolitle 2 & 3 without Eddie Murphy? Tell me those sequels weren't spewed out to suck the cash from the soccer moms with their 6 and under kids?!

I waited and waited for Thelma and Louise 2. They had said they were thinking on it, that the idea was that the car reached the other side and that they disappeared into Mexico. They never did it. :dunno:

I still say it could be done, bring them back. 15 years later. Their children now grown, husbands finally not grieving remarried and happy, everybody's life in a different direction

Enter Thelma and Louise to turn it all upside down. Great plot don't you think?

I cannot remember any movie the sequel of which is at least the same quality or even better than the original one. But it might be only a momentary lapse of my memory...

Good: Saw II
Bad: Blair Witch 2

Good: Godfather 2
Bad: Godfather 3

Good: Dawn of the Dead
Bad: Land of the Dead

Good: Rocky II
Bad: Rocky V, and the upcoming Rocky Balboa (Rocky VI) looks to be worse!!

Good: Final Destination 2
Bad: Jeepers Creepers 2

Good: Star Wars Ep 5,6,3 the Empire Stikes Back, Return of the Jedi, and Revenge of the Sith respectively
Bad: Star Wars Ep 1, the Phantom Menace. Two words: JarJar Binks.

They should definitely have stopped after the first matrix. The second one was boring and the third made me want to kill whoever stole that 2 hours of my life.

X3 was the best of the 3, if anything why make the first 2?

Matrix 2 was bad.

I heard people bad mouthing Ocean's Twelve but I watched it last night and it was not that bad.

Scary Movie 4 - the same old jokes over and over again.
Austin Powers: Goldmember - See comment above.
