What Ari said is exactly true. I never had a wish list until I was asked about it a bunch of times. I never expect to get anything from it but when I do, it's a really nice surprise. Guys aren't buying girls things b/c they think if they do they will fuck them..at least not my fans. Many of them remain anonymous! And what Mariah said is true as well..many people do not have a clue as to how much the girls who interact with their fans work and spend time on things like Twitter, Instagram, Tumblr, Vine...etc. It's a nice way to say thank you and it really makes me feel appreciated. My birthday was last week and I got a bunch of things from my wish list, what's wrong with that? Sure, I could afford the things on there myself but that's kind of the point..I mean, can't you afford the crap you want for your birthday or Christmas or whatever holiday? But still people ask you what you would like so you come up with a list of items that you want but might not ever buy for yourself.

I've gotten gifts from people I've done work for in the past. Pretty sure they just wanted to show their appreciation over my doing a good job and going above and beyond, and that it wasn't in fact that they wanted to fuck me. If it was I'm sure many of their wives would be bothered by that...

Some people like to show appreciation. Like leaving a nice tip at a restaurant or bar (which is something I'm prone to doing). Makes you feel good, makes the person who gets it feel good. Everybody wins.

Personally, while I don't have a wishlist...the only thing I've ever asked for is a fucking garden gnome and I'm still waiting.

maybe a different perspective will help you understand it. For one thing porn girls and girls who have websites often inter-act with their members or fans personally. Answer email, instant messenger etc Websites don't make nearly the money that they used and so much of the content is traded freely between losers who rant "I refuse to pay for porn" yet are the first to bitch when quality drops or updates aren't as frequent as they used to be.

Some guys are just generous and like to make someone smile that they like, be it personal or someone who is a fantasy of theirs. I get a lot of emails from fans telling me thanks because when they were lonely or in Iraq or wherever my movies made them happy. I'm sure all the other girls hear the same thing. So if someone who has appreciated the time you've given them or the happiness your content has brought them, why begrudge them that?

My suggestion to you is to take a good hard look at your life and why you have that chip on your shoulder about what other people are doing for other people which doesn't affect you in any way whatsoever.

This question came up recently with RGIII here in town. Why would or should regular, average people give wedding gifts to a multi-million dollar athlete/superstar? And why, or why, does this star accept these gifts? Here is a good, quick read on this type of gifting phenomena. My opinion is if you want to gift it, then gift it. And if you're a star, you should thankfully accept these gifts. Go RGIII and go ladies. You have every right to feel happy and appreciated.

I won't dispute what you said at all Ari. I agree. I don't know what pornstars or others earn, but I imagine it isn't anything close to a star QB for the Redskins. That being said, many of these athletes take pride in donating back to the community. And more of my point about the fan is that it makes the average Joe feel good because they gave a gift to someone they admire and who brings joy to their lives. I'm sure in RGIII's case, it led to personalized and autographed Thank You cards.

I'm with you. The huge popularity of porn shows just how many people are into it, yet the chicks that star in it still seem to attract abuse and criticism as if they're criminals or something. Sending them items from their "buy me stuff" lists is just a way of simultaneously showing support for the girls, and saying "Fuck you!" to their (often hypocritical) critics.

I don't really see a problem with buying gifts for one's favourite pornstar. I prefer to consider it as an act of appreciation. Now of course, I do place limits on what I think is sane appreciation. For instance, some knob bought Madelyn Marie a Ferrari F458 (which was subsequently keyed). I could perhaps have understood something of this magnitude if I thought that Mrs Marie were actually all that attractive, but alas, as the saying goes, "Different strokes for different folks."

There's someone that sells those on etsy. I've been thinking about getting one, but shipping is so gawd damned expensive from the US to the NL. If I can find a plastic gnome, instead of plaster, I might be able to do it myself though........
