maybe a different perspective will help you understand it. For one thing porn girls and girls who have websites often inter-act with their members or fans personally. Answer email, instant messenger etc Websites don't make nearly the money that they used and so much of the content is traded freely between losers who rant "I refuse to pay for porn" yet are the first to bitch when quality drops or updates aren't as frequent as they used to be.
Some guys are just generous and like to make someone smile that they like, be it personal or someone who is a fantasy of theirs. I get a lot of emails from fans telling me thanks because when they were lonely or in Iraq or wherever my movies made them happy. I'm sure all the other girls hear the same thing. So if someone who has appreciated the time you've given them or the happiness your content has brought them, why begrudge them that?
My suggestion to you is to take a good hard look at your life and why you have that chip on your shoulder about what other people are doing for other people which doesn't affect you in any way whatsoever.

Honestly when I first started camming about 4 years ago I was very awkward about the idea of a wishlist. I grew up pretty damn poor and I really hadn't experienced so much spoilage.
Don't be so quick to assume that girls are materialistic cunts just because people want to show extra appreciation.. just like there are a lot of nice, kind, NORMAL guys who spend money on us. Their reasons are their own. Sometimes it's something to wear for a show or shoot, sometimes it's just because it makes them feel good to be in a position to give gifts to lovely women, some guys are even into financial domination or like to spoil a chick like a princess. Sometimes it's really practical items like photo equipment to help a model improve her content, video games they want to play with her online, a book they think might inspire or might help her with school.
The bottom line is guys ask girls repeatedly for wishlist links, most of us created them because they were wanted and asked for, not because we're all desperate for presents.
I've seen a lot of girls use their wish lists for charity, or do general things to give back. I've even seen fans help girls get items they needed to start a different career.
Sometimes the help I've received from fans via my wishlist has helped me to afford to help my family more, just like plenty of these ladies including myself, have also encouraged our fans to spread some of that generosity around via charity work & donations.
In the end, a thoughtful gift or useful item just feels nice to receive and nice to give. Don't underestimate the power of paying it forward, I've seen these girls do some amazing things for other people.
