In agreement. Martyrs had been hyped to hell but just gets stupid at the end which doesn't live up to the first couple acts.
Frontiers was really good.
Those french fellows certainly love putting their leading actresses through it!

Also agree with you and Ravenholm: Both films are quitre good, although I also found that Martrys faulters a bit in the last half as well. And just as such like you both, I find it quite a shame. But allin all, still a fine above-average genre film well worth owning, flaws and all.

Stalker (1979)

One of my all time favourites.
I have a confession to make, I have only seen one Tarkovsky movie namely Solaris which I enjoyed just not got round to seeing any of his other films.

Anyway, the last good film I watched was The Damned United. Another brilliant performance from Michael Sheen, this time as Brian Clough in a movie that chronicles his short tenure as manager of (Dirty) Leeds United.

You should definitely check out some of his other work. I personally find Solaris to be one of his weaker efforts, still a classic of course, but films like Stalker, Andrei Rublev, Mirror plus some of his more obscure works to me seem to be far more intellectually stimulating than Solaris does. As I'm sure you've already gathered, none of his movies are easy, "turn off your brain" type films, but they're definitely worth it in the end.

At least I think so.

Conquest- weird ass fantasy flick from Lucio Fulci w/ gore, lots of fog, topless evil bitch w/ metal mask, dog men, zombies, monsters, gore, laser arrows, and other nonsensical awesomeness!

The Drawn Together Movie: the Movie- Awesome! more offensive than ever! Racist and sexist jokes, nudity, 3D lesbian threesome, poop, piss, gore, comic and toon parodies, and more in this awesomely aniumated flick! :D

A League Of Their Own. Tom Hanks is such a good actor, that I want to have anal congress with him.:nannerf1:

Monsters Vs. Aliens
Not too bad for a kiddy movie.

I loved that movie! The visuals are very accurate. The scene when they first face the alien robot is really what 101 looks like in Brisbane. It even has Candlestick Park in the background. When they're in downtown SF, the bit where Susan is walking on Market St. with the Ferry Building in the background is EXACTLY what it looks like. I was amazed at how real everything looked.

Indeed. The visual quality that can be rendered in a relatively short period is stunning.

A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984)

I see you got the new Blu-Ray of the original Craven film from '84 this past week as did I. ;) The transfer on it is damn good as well, I might add. I'm really glad we had gotten this one here in the U.S. with a slightly brighter print, and that I didn't get mine imported from Canada from Alliance last year. The flick still pretty much holds up, but it's mainly the first two very dark Elm Street films I like from that series. As the eventual blu-Ray boxset comes out over the next year and a half or so, I'll just re-boy the second one and keep this, as I honestly don't personally care for the rest myself. But to each they're own.

Must say the transfer and disceate Blu home theeater audio on this is fantasic. The transfer is a lot better then I imagined, and on an LCD TV set pretty much looks as good as it ever did or ever will. Highly recommended.

What? I watched this on my PS3 but it was definitely the DVD version. I'm watching my boxset of the first 7 movies, I've had this set for years.
