The idiot suits at Hollywood didn't know how to market the film in the first place. But yeah, I defintely agree that Trick 'r Treat is a great horror film.

Big thanks. Yeah, I'm happy that for the most part, the reviews of the Blu-Ray and standard definition DVD have more then solid or at least solid.

I know for some big time genre fanatics like us, it didn't live up to the hype, but I'm sorry, it was a damn fine film for it's final running time. I honestly would have like for it to go on about another 15-or-so minutes, with some more fleshed out characters, but it IS damn well shot, mostly well written, had solid E.C. Comic book type atmosphere and shocks, and an effective original score and hot women. If people prefer more pointless torture films to this or less profesisonal shot Full Moon studios type no budget efforts, then I don't know what to say to'em.

It shall become a Halloween seasonal stable around my apartment and future household, as I plan to grab another copy or two in the coming weeks to hold onto, as it's a new favorite film of mine, in the top twenty or so. I'm sorry that to some it didn't live up to the hype, but I honestly don't get the few reviews online that hated it. I mean in THIS day & age of pointless remakes and one too many genre film sequels to franchises that needed to die off in the mid '90s, it's more then fitting and great seasonal entertainment. Maybe we'll even get a longer director's cut down the road.

And I almost forgot: Indeed, Hollywood has truely gone even more downhill ove the last 15 years or so (there's that time frame again, I know). They TRUELY fuck up a lot these days. I barely go to the multiplex maybe twice a year now, unless I know it'll be original and interesting in the vain of Inglourious Basterds, ect. I can't be bothered to pay nearly $14 for an adult ticket these days ofr routine entertainment that isn't really my bag. Oh and I see I made some simply mistakes in my last message, such as meanign to say "Trust me,..." at the end and I also meant "massive sequel potential" in there. My bad. :)

2012
Good action and very entertaining, kind of leveled out for the retarded level of cliches.

Evolution. Julianne Moore was especially sexy in that movie.

I really like Evolution, it's one of my guilty pleasures. Any time I see it's on TV I can't help but watch.

" Snag it!"

Snag it?

"Yeah. Come on, snag it and put it in the bucket."

I've seen this movie, the black dude dies first. YOU snag it!

:D

I have a pretty random taste in movies.

Seen so many movies lately, but unfortunately hard to name a recent one that grabbed/surprised me. Have to say Star Trek would be the most recent one that was good. JJ Abrams did a great job, great acting, good story, everything.
PS: this is a great thread, I'm seeing lots of movies that I'd like to watch!

The Day the Earth Stood Still with Keanu Reeves. I liked the original 1950's movie too.

It was rather decent, I will admit. Not too shabby. Just a few things bugged me about it.

Batman: The Movie (1966) A great campy flick, shark repellent spray had me in stitches. Also Lee Meriwether is the sexiest Catwoman of them all, Im including Halle Barry in there too.

Oddly enough, I just watched my Blu-Ray of it (yes, the Blu-Ray; got it off Amazon earlier in the Fall this year) of it a few days back; not even four days ago now. And it's still a great, super fun campy ride. I pretty much like all the hugely popular versions of Batman in our very westernized media (rather it's the original late '60s television series, the first two superior flicks from Tim Burton [some modest flaws & all], or the seminal classic '90s FOX Kids TV series). But indeed, the original '66 movie, which was modest budget for it's time, will forever hold a big, honestly goofy yet warm-hearted place in my heart.

And I'll be damn'd if I don't agree with you that indeed, a young Lee Meriweather was indeed puuurrrfect (meant to be said with just the right delightfully cheesy yet alluring to a pre-pubeasant kid as can possibly be said)
in her signature role. Gotta love those old school L.A. actresses as opposed to the more modern school.
