The gang better be taking care of those hostages, because if they don't make it out safe, they've literally killed off any chance of repeat business.

The reason Somali pirates were so successful (at first) is because all the crew & cargo of the ships they took were returned unharmed when the ransom was paid.

Well, at least some good news. Oddly enough, they're quiet about whether the money was paid or what led to the release. It doesn't look like it was the commando raid we were hoping for though.

It was reported a less-than-requested ransom was paid, but not by the U.S. government. Sounds like their organization came through for them.
