"I have decided to part ways with @ImpactWrestling," Joe wrote. "My very best to them moving forward, and my eternal thanks to the fans."
Powell's POV: Joe was a key player in the new heel faction Beat Down Clan.
He hasn't indicated what the future holds for him, but I would love to see WWE sign him. That said, I think he can do well working independently and in Japan.

TNA Makes Brazillian TV Announcement Official
As we reported nearly a month ago, TNA is heading to Brazil TV. Now nearly a month since we broke the news, TNA Wrestling is officially announcing the deal between Esporte Interativo.
TNA DEBUTS IN BRAZIL ON TOP SPORTS NETWORK ESPORTE INTERATIVO
Rio de Janeiro (Thursday, March26, 2015): TNA IMPACT WRESTLING has arrived on Brazilian TV screens for the first time ever, after a deal between the company and major free to air sports broadcaster Esporte Interativo (EI).
The new partnership, which began this month, brings TNA Superstars including Kurt Angle, Lashley, Bobby Roode, Jeff Hardy, MVP, EC3, James Storm, Gail Kim and Taryn Terrell to one of the world’s largest and fastest growing TV markets.
Flagship programme IMPACT WRESTLING will first air on Esporte Interativo every Sunday at 10pm. Fans will also be able to watch TNA’s monthly PPV and One Night Only events, as well as TNA Xplosion – which will broadcast every Monday at 7.45pm. All shows will be repeated throughout the week, so as many fans as possible are able to tune in.
Programming will air in Portuguese, thanks to a dedicated Brazilian announce team.
TNA will join global brands including the NFL and the UEFA Champions League on Esporte Interativo, which can be seen by 105 million people in Brazil and is also the home of MMA in the country. Turner Broadcasting, the television arm of the American media group Time Warner, recently became the sole owner of the network.
TNA President Dixie Carter said: “To partner with Esporte Interativo, a major Brazilian network with a reach of more than 100 million people, is another significant chapter in the incredible TNA international story and an important milestone as we look to expand across South America.”
Kurt Angle says WWE treated him like a nobody when he contacted them about a comeback
The return of Kurt Angle to WWE is something a lot of fans are interested in, and to which the company itself publicly kept the door open.
But according to*an interview the Olympic gold medalist gave to Sports Illustrated, they weren't nearly as receptive in private negotiations.
I haven't spoke openly about this, but I opened up my options and was going to decide between TNA and WWE. I wasn't going to leave TNA unless WWE was offering a fair deal.
This is the most we've heard from someone who took part in those discussions instead of just rumors. And while almost all accounts of the dealings between Angle and WWE have made it sound like a one-sided affair, and this one is no different, it's still surprising to hear how disinterested Vince McMahon and Triple H were in bringing back one of their biggest stars.
Attempting to facilitate a deal with the man he'd always dealt with in the past, and who the article paints like a father figure for Angle, Vince McMahon, didn't get him anywhere, as Kurt says he was referred back to Paul "Triple H" Levesque. Versions of the story that have gone around in the past had Angle trying to go over Levesque's head to Vince when he didn't like the younger man's answer, but here the current TNA champ says he tried McMahon first and was directed to his son-in-law:
Paul is in charge. I found that out when I contacted Vince. I've always had a good relationship with Paul, so I didn't consider that a problem. But he decided they had enough talent.
For the Vince McMahon who I knew, enough was never enough. He always wanted more. I don't know what was going on over there, but they even canceled our meeting. I never went to see them. They didn't even sit me down and talk to me.
It blew my mind. It was as if I was a nobody, that I wasn't Kurt Angle. From a wrestling standpoint, they just weren't interested. But TNA not only stepped up, they gave me everything I wanted - the dates, the money, and it's no secret that I've went to rehab in the past, and they gave me time off.
You talk about a company that's loyal to you, and you want to be loyal back. So I
didn't pursue the WWE any further. When it comes down to it, you've got to stick with the people who want to take care of you. And [TNA president] Dixie Carter took care of me.
But I'm going to be straight with you. The WWE would have made more money this year if they would have signed me. That's no secret.
He talks about matches he could have had with guys currently on the WWE roster, including Daniel Bryan, Brock Lesnar and Rusev - bouts he's all confident he could safely and entertainingly deliver. But while Angle doesn't it address it in the interview, obviously the health concerns that lead to his initial release are still there, along with whatever other bad blood may exist between he and Hunter.
And now, he's saying he's okay with not going back:
I don't know if they just thought I was too old, but obviously they're not watching our product. Triple H is the same age as me. It was hard, but at the end of the day, I'm really happy.
Will I ever go back? I really don't care. I'm happy to be here in TNA.
TNA is happy to have him, as is their new broadcast home, Destination America, who reportedly pushed for his current title reign and are touting Impact Wrestling's contribution to growing their brand. While he's disappointed that TNA couldn't lure Paul Heyman to the fold, he's happy with the company's direction.
And contrary to reports that he and WWE parted ways over his not wanting to take time off during his injury and addiction-plagued day in the mid-aughts, Angle's comparison of Carter and McMahon does indicate that, at least this time around, WWE was not interested in giving the 46 year old a softer schedule:
If I wasn't feeling good, Dixie would tell me to take the night off - and she wouldn't dock my pay. I can't say that ever happened in WWE. Vince is great at what he does, but so is Dixie - and I know my body is going to hold up in TNA.
Check out his whole chat with*Justin Barrasso for more on his favorite matches from his whole career and a humblebrag story of grappling with Brock when the collegiate wrestler tried to take down the Olympian in Lesnar's early days in WWE.
What do you think about this version of events? While most would agree that WWE is right to have concerns about Angle's physical health, are you surprised they didn't try to work out any deal? Given this, do you think we'll ever see him in a WWE ring again?

Taz Quits TNA Wrestling
Taz has quit the company. He tweeted the following moments ago:
Like to thank TNA Wrestling for the opportunity to apply my craft for past several years. Best wishes to them in the future.
UPDATE x 2: According to sources, Taz and TNA are at odds, reportedly over pay issues. Taz did not come to a planned voiceover session in Nashville, TN this past Thursday. This session was set up so that they could lay down commentary for several weeks of iMPACT! episodes. The pay issues led to Taz effectively refusing to get on his flight from New York. The pay issues for TNA employees was something originally reported back on April 12th. Earlier today it was reported that TNA talents have started to receive checks.
Taz has removed all mentions of TNA from his Twitter, which some say is to send a message to the company. Josh Mathews did commentary for Friday’s episode solo, but that could be changed as they have until Thursday to record new audio and get it to Destination America to air on Friday. The site also adds that TNA recently gave Al Snow a tryout as an announcer.
UPDATE: Here is the latest regarding the story about TNA talent having issues receiving their pay. the issue was resolved over the weekend and TNA talents have now started to receive checks. TNA sends out paychecks on the first of the month and employees usually get them several days later around the fourth. After the eighth day and no checks being received by the talent, people were starting to get concerned.
Also, a source in TNA management stated that talents would be receiving their March checks earlier than scheduled to try and make up for the recent delay.
ORIGINAL: Despite settling in on a new channel with Destination America, TNA’s internal issues are far from over. According to reports, TNA Wrestling is currently dealing with some behind the scenes issues with the talent roster. The trouble is that TNA is allegedly behind on paying its wrestlers. According to the reports, many talents have anonymously reached out to several internet sites and claimed that TNA is behind on their payments.
One wrestler went as far as claiming that TNA is behind two pay periods. Another has claimed that there are wrestlers who are still owed money going as far back as February. Currently, TNA does not have any dates scheduled until the next live episode of iMPACT! Wrestling, which is set for May 8. The pay issue is becoming a growing source of frustration for the roster, who are now working more independent wrestling dates in order to supplement their income.
Also, TNA office sources in Nashville, Tennessee are confirming that the pay issues are legitimate. In addition, even though a source allegedly denied that TNA was behind on two periods, the source did admit that TNA has recently been behind on getting paychecks to roster talents. TNA is said to be in the process of trying to get a handle on the pay issue. TNA’s paychecks are sent via Dallas, Texas and not in Nashville where TNA is headquartered. Dallas is the home of TNA’s billion dollar parent company, Panda Energy. Another issue is the result of Panda Energy moving its offices, which is still currently ongoing. However, the Panda department that issues TNA office and roster paychecks was reportedly “completely closed.” This is what apparently led to there being a backlog of checks for TNA in recent weeks. It’s not that the company is having money issues before those rumors begin.
The recent taping of numerous One Night Only PPV events in Orlando, Florida reportedly caused a lot of payroll expenses as well. The company was not getting revenue from those PPV tapings because they were free, since they were taped at Universal Studios. This was another factor for the backlog of checks that have not been paid out to the roster.
