Who would have thunk the Republican Senate would return to caring about deficits? Blow it up with unnecessary tax cuts and then go:

Thune (R-SD): “Whoever is in the White House I hope they realize how serious the debt crisis is and how important it is that we put measures in place to address it ... And hopefully when that vote comes around, we’ll have some of those reforms.”

Cramer (R-ND): “To be honest with you, you’ve seen the last of Republicans passing giant packages,”

Graham (Hades) brushed off a question about potential charges of hypocrisy from Democrats if Republicans revive alarm over the debt under Biden. “We got here together, right? I’m not saying the Republican Party is the answer, we’re not. I’m saying the answer has got to be something like Simpson-Bowles. There’s got to be some shared understanding of the problem,”

Very difficult to believe anything they say at this point. Started lying in 2015 and never stopped. Why stop now. in for a penny, in for a pound.

I saw this a few times. Looked right over it. I did a double take. I just realized you said Lindsey Graham was from Hades. Hilarious!

I say a bit about it yesterday. Again, no surprises here. That said all Presidents do a lot of pardoning in the last few days so not really unexpected. Often sneaking in cronies with the rest. Here though they seem to be proud of pardoning fellow crooks and weasels.

Hahahaha, oh boy! Looks like you guys aren't the only ones with a corrupt national leader. ScoMo (Prime minister of Australia Scott Morrison) has just been exposed for taking his treasurer and a bunch of mates on an air force plane to the big smoke where they spent $5k on a christmas party. That's right, 5 thousand dollars worth of misappropri-fucking-ation!

I mean, your guy has spent $142 million on golfing and is straight up selling PRESIDENTIAL PARDONS, but ScoMo is a badass too!

P.S Happy Friday y'all. I just got home on a Friday night, which is my favorite time ever. I'm gunna have a good one, make sure you do too. Except the trump voters. You have a shit one because you've earned it.

Trump mulls preemptive pardons for up to 20 allies, even as Republicans balk

Ahole Trump will try to do a lot of damage to the government before he leaves the White House on January 20.
There is still enough time for a large scale false flag attack or disaster that will allow Trump to declare a national emergency or marshal law, and stay in the White House indefinitely. Psychopath Trump is now desperate, he will try anything to stay in power to avoid prosecution for his crimes.

Didn't Rudy do something like that to stay mayor for a few extra months? 😉

Forget about "moving on" from Trump — the nation can't heal without accountability
https://www.salon.com/2020/11/29/fo...-the-nation-cant-heal-without-accountability/

Trump should be convicted and executed for treason and for causing the deaths of hundreds of thousands of Americans.

Good article. The last part really nails it:

...the fear is that by holding Trump accountable, Biden's administration would be implicitly passing judgment on the millions of Americans who voted for him.

To which I say, good. Consider, for instance, this year's Republican National Convention, a lengthy whine session about "cancel culture" from the various speakers. These were people so unused to facing consequences for their actions that the idea of lost dinner-party invitations seems like a painful price to pay for trying to to end democracy. Trump's voters thrilled to this, enraptured by the idea that they are entitled to lash out at anyone they like, and should never pay even the slightest price — not even a disapproving look from a liberal — in response. They've grown soft and childish in this environment of no consequences, unwilling to take on even the slightest responsibility to their neighbors in the midst of a pandemic.
It's time to stop coddling the easily hurt feelings of conservatives and instead turn our attention toward the nearly 80 million people who turned out — despite extensive efforts at disenfranchisement — to bring the Trump presidency to an end. What do we owe those Americans, the ones who actually did their part to save this country? Instead of demanding that they do more to pander to conservatives' injured feelings, why not, for once, repay them for their hard work with justice? After all Trump has put this country through, that's the least those who stood up and resisted him deserve.

The problem with holding the SOB accountable is the fact that we are about 6 inches from a shooting insurrection. All It would take is one asshole in Michigan or? to fire one shot in a Capital protest somewhere or a Trump rally and away we will go. I am surprised it hasn't happened already. Glad, but surprised.

If they're not held accountable they'll just do it again and again until America is mourning the democracy it once was. trump supporters need to be held in the contempt they deserve and those who have had to put up with it for the last 4 years need to be able to witness it. They violated human rights, US laws, US constitution, the concept of truth itself, and are right now attempting a coup to overturn election results they don't like. You can't keep ignoring it, or pretending it didn't happen, or diminishing the severity by labelling it "politics." It's not politics, it's morality and decency. If you're in the US, half the people you see every day have neither of those things, and they need to answer for what they've done, fought for, and supported these last 4 years. If you just let them get away with it because you're afraid of what they might do then your country is already lost.

Otherwise, as the article says, healing won't happen.
