The Three Stooges.......Best Comedy Team Ever ?

Most things Wright/Pegg/Frost have done together have been very good, even if the influence of one or the other was understated i.e. Pegg & Frost each having small cameos in the amazing Look Around You. Spaced was a superb sitcom that captured a particular British subculture of it's time, Hot Fuzz was brilliant. I haven't seen The World's End yet.

I will have to check out their other stuff too.

Yes, i agree about Larry in that i felt he was underrated. Can't remember about the one where he was the aggressor. Shemp was great. Sometimes just the facial expressions did it for me. Curly was Curly. Besser was just okay and as for DeRita, yea, the movies were pretty sad. Never paid attention to the cartoons.

I saw the movie you asked about. I guess i was expecting more. The movie was a disappointment in that regard but i do like Will Sasso in his acting ability. The original Three Stooges will never be able to be duplicated in my opinion. They are in a class by themselves !

Here is the Larry short I was talking about. He Cooked His Goose. If you have watched a decent amount of Stooge, you will notice it to be distinctively different from the rest.

Rather than taking up space with more links, you can do a Youtube search for the Larry Fine interview with a 16 year old Tom Bergeron. Yes, the same Tom Bergeron from the dancing and funny video shows.

I wouldn't of remembered that one if you didn't post it so many thanks ! Yes, Larry being the aggressor was a change and even the dog barking at the beginning caught me off guard.. Still enjoy and laugh watching these guys ! I'll also have to check out the Larry Fine interview.

Can't argue against the Stooges. They were superb. I'm a Marx Brothers man meself, although I do allow that they have a less sizeable body of work and a couple of their movies were lame. I've often wished that the Marx Bros. would have made a career of 15 minute shorts like the Stooges did.

I think the Marx Brothers were better too. They did a lot of physical comedy like the Stooges, but they had better one-liners and were musically talented as well.

I have to listen to more of that interview but just listening to the music is classic and one quote in the first part by Larry.....''Our comedy speaks for itself''. Agreed ! Such good stuff.
