The Politics of the Miss Freeones Contest

Mariah, someone might have mentioned this already, but we need to consider the fact that a lot of votes come from people who do not frequent the board at all. A good portion of votes come from individuals that don't even know what 'OCSM' means/represents.

^^ Edit - this was indeed mentioned already, but I'd still like to reinforce the point.

Perhaps next year the OCSM category could be limited to the ladies that contribute (e.g. Mariah Milano, Spexy Ashleigh, Play With Alisa, etc.), and when I say 'contribute' I don't mean log in once in awhile to advertise. :uohs:

It seems for the most part they have the criteria somewhat down...they are investing at least $30k of their money and based on the fact that the prize money and participation has doubled for the contest in one year...makes it seem like these people know what they're doing.:dunno:

So they have a girl or two where they may not really belong..so there are voters who have simple or complicated methods of deciding who they vote for..nature of the beast.

Most people vote for who they like and they like them usually because the person does what they do well. Doesn't matter if it's s/c or h/c.

Though I was a long time peruser of FO's and a porn nut I'm a newbie to the boards and threads.,, With us guys its usually our third leg that does the driving and what little thinking we actually do, I have been paying attention to the posts -(not just the pics) - and I've been delighted and turned on how smart and quick you ladies are. That's why I have began to vote for the likes of Jane Burgess, Play with Alisa and Tia Ling- to name a few. About the Cams- I'm not a user, but I will rethink them Mariah.

The 'Miss FreeOnes' competition would not be affected at all; leave it open to all of the ladies as-is.

At no point in my post did I raise the notion that the folks at FreeOnes don't know what they're doing. :nono:

great contributions everyone...thanks for taking this thread and making it valid.

I appreciate Freeones and the concept of their site. The don't allow full lnegth videos to be posted, they don't allow file sharing sites to be used and that to me speaks volumes about them.

But when she did she quickly became one of the most interesting, if not somewhat influential OCSMs in the contest.

Further, why wouldn't that potentially discourage some OCSMs from board participation if they knew they couldn't be considered for category weighted on something like board participation? Again...that approach would seem to be counterproductive to some of what I believe FOs goals are.

Not necessarily, but potentially. Miss H. would have qualified for the newcomer category and the Miss FreeOnes category last year, assuming the she hadn't been contributing at that time.

What are FO's goals? I'd say one is to attract adult stars, which the Miss FreeOnes contest is doing. I don't see how limiting one voting category based on board participation would have a negative impact. If a star wanted to be considered for Best OCSM, all she would need to do is post ... it's that simple.

Lastly HM, I draw your attention to the fact that a very famous adult star initiated this discussion, and has expressed her own opinion re. the 'Best OCSM' category, where she questions the fact that a very active OCSM is trailing in this category vs. a relatively inactive OCSM. Reading through this thread, I don't see any other OCSM's challenging or disagreeing with this.

The cam girl category is a good example! Don't vote for your fave pornstar there! Vote for real cam girls!

Ahh thank you. Just so you know Ruby Knox and Aaliyah Love are also real cam girls. They are online a lot and have been cam girls for years.

I agree with alot of the points that you made but sadly, nothing is going to change. The real winners for best OCSM (and Ms. Freeones as well) should be SpexyAshleigh or Play With Alisa, they have both contributed so much to this forum and until just a few weeks ago, SpexyAshleigh wasn't even an OCSM she was just a regular member like the rest of us, they truly are the Misses Freeones along with other OCSMs like yourself and Viorotica, Chica, Ms Hybrid, etc.. You had my vote before on the Ms. Freeones Contest and you've earned my respect for addressing this. Maybe the admins will listen to you.

:dunno:Let people compete and let the voters decide. If it was simply about the preset criteria "we" think, why even subject it to a vote?

My point about FOs knowing what they're doing is like 'Ronald' said last time around, they're not giving away a few drinks. In that case I think they're making the criteria the best as they see it to return the best dividend.

The problem with the OCSM vote is that people who don't know a thing about the board can vote for someone. It's just another place to vote for their favourite girl to them. Of course a girl like Play with Alisa or JaneB deserve to win that one, and anyone who says something different really doesn't know a thing about the board.

This contest is good because it can help some girls get their name out that aren't big time performers. If it weren't for this contest I would never had found Miss Danni Gee or Lindsay Marie and become fans of theirs. Plus alot of the girls have said that winning isn't important to them it's the thought and recognition that they most appreciate from the fans.

Thank you, I appreciate it. The ladies that do cam shows that should be voted for are Aaliyah Love, Ruby Knox, Destiny Dixon, and Renna Ryann. I know for a fact those ladies do webcam shows for hours almost every day of the week. :2 cents:

By the way Play with Alisa has the most posts here on Freeones for OCSM and Spexyasleigh is a top poster as well who doesn't just post during the contest. I'm voting for true OCSMs, including you. But according to you I guess my vote shouldn't count...:dunno:

Not trying to be a dick here, but yes, she should have been. There is no way to predict how active someone WILL become....don't get me wrong, she's cool as hell, and it's awesome how active she has become around here, but I do agree with the idea that there should be a pre-requisite for the category.

I am a huge Miss Hybrid fan, but I wholeheartedly agree with you here. If there had been an OCSM category last time out, then Miss Hybrid would (in my opinion) not have been eligible for it as she had only just joined, and had no posts to speak of that would put her in that category. Now, though she is one of the most frequent posters, and fully deserves not just a place, but a top spot in this category. As I suggested earlier, maybe next year the category should be tied down to OCMS's that actually post regularly. Can someone explain just how Sophie Dee deserves to be 3rd here with just 22 posts over 3 years!

Something I noticed and haven't seen anyone mention is that there is a brief descriptions of the criteria for each category...although I agree it seems quite a few people are not reading them. As far as the Best Cam girl category...they had to call it something....and although I am not familiar with a lot of the names in there...the ones I do know deserve to be there based on the criteria posted IMHO.

For this round of voting I agree categories appear useless, as votes are so spread out. Let's see as the lists get narrowed down if these top vote getters are truly the choice of FreeOnes members. It will be interesting to see if the higher voting power of the more senior members can offset can offset the flood of brand nOOb members casting their (1/4 to 1) vote per day :2 cents:
