The Politics of the Miss Freeones Contest

Unfortunately any contest like this always comes down to a popularity contest. I think Freeones tried to fix this by weighting the votes so maybe the deserving girls win.

It seems like this is always the main gripe with these contests. There are those who always post here, participate frequently or troll (like me) and then there are those who sign up once. The admins did a great job by weighting votes. However, it is still not going to really break down the random sign-ups to vote for the names that they like.

I commend all the hard-working ladies who post here frequently, voice their opinions, and respect their fans. Some think their pussy is too high priced to do that. In the end, the members who frequently acquaint themselves with you Ms. Mariah will truly make you feel special. It never takes a contest to do that, although $10K does help...or whatever the prize money is.

Keep the votes coming members! I've voted every day so far vigilantly. Ms. Milano just won votes from me, as I wasn't familiar with her, or her intelligence. It just so happens I haven't trolled the same topics.

sorry, but EVERYTHING is political... my kids are educated without mention of specific things. advertisers walk right to the edge of being 'naughty' and the networks that profit from them decry the horrors of pornography. Right or left of the aisle, there is distressingly little difference in politicians, who are only interested in building and keeping their own personal power.

I assume pornography is much like any other business... you get into it through someone you know, and with rare exceptions, personal networking plays a vital role in success and progress.

Actually, the skin industry (industries) and comedy seem to be the only areas of American life that have consciously or otherwise made any attempt to resist the 'PC' world being pushed on us all... It does not change the way people think to not say a word or phrase; it just gives a lever by which people can categorize us... sort of the opposite of what you would think the PC police are championing.

Are the categories in MissFreeOnes impure? Entendre aside, probably (entendre assumed I hope so), but you hit the nail on the head saying all contests are f'd in one way or another. You could parse the categories into another 10 or 12... you could apply more rigorous standards to who can compete...

Honestly, though i still think the biggest skew all of the contestants face is the women who are savvy enough to interact with us on the FreeOnes boards. Your names are the ones we'll know... your photos are the ones we'll have seen most recently... And thanks to a delicious leveling (or favortism) mechanism, we the members have a greater vote.

So I would hazard a guess you're gonna do great things this year. Because we've SEEN you (and thank you thank you, i really mean SEEN you) here. I know I've remembered you were actually here, not just trying to get some additional press!

Like some others have said before: a lot of people are just gonna vote for their favourite model/pornstar in every category and don´t give a second´s thought to what is is they´re actually voting for. This is a pornsite after all and there´s always lots of people on pornsites with a sheep mentality and the IQ of a jellyfish, so if their favourite model tell them to vote for them in a contest they´re gonna do so, no matter what the contest is about. I bet most of the people who have voted in the "best official site" category have never even been a member of the site they´re voting for.

Seems like we are all pretty much in agreement in this thread......Mariah, I could not agree with you any more. The main problem I had last year was a certain somebody showed up out of the blue, posted like crazy until she won, and then fucking disappeared.......never mind the really cool OCSMs that post here damn regularly.....the were totally and completely forgotten, and that sucked.....

However, my FreeOnes brethren have made me proud.....certain people have shown back up...again out of the fucking blue...like you said, whoring for money......but it appears as though that shit will not fly again......

It is a giant popularity contest.....at least this year the votes are weighted....scores of noobs can't influence the tide like last time.....and I personally only vote for the OCSMs who actually give a shit and are actually HERE on a regular basis....you know, the women who take time out of their busy days to converse with us lowly slobs. We the fans appreciate the time they spend here.....it's high time they get the respect and recognition they deserve from us. So, for me, members like you, Chica, Vikki Vette, Jane Burgess.....too many too list......THEY are the ones who get my vote.

I swear to God if somebody wins......and you know who I mean.....if that happens, I'm fucking outta here.

I agree with alot of the points that you made but sadly, nothing is going to change. The real winners for best OCSM (and Ms. Freeones as well) should be SpexyAshleigh or Play With Alisa, they have both contributed so much to this forum and until just a few weeks ago, SpexyAshleigh wasn't even an OCSM she was just a regular member like the rest of us, they truly are the Misses Freeones along with other OCSMs like yourself and Viorotica, Chica, Ms Hybrid, etc.. You had my vote before on the Ms. Freeones Contest and you've earned my respect for addressing this. Maybe the admins will listen to you.

Well I wouldn't say I deserve Miss Freeones...I mean I've mostly been here for the chitchat, and community - and seeing as I JUST became OCSM just last week...I mean...yeah. I've provided my personality and conversation for years here, but as far as entertainment quality goes, I don't deserve that title. I barely have a section, and my website is mostly comprised of a blog with a few pics, and links to my camshows. But I guess it depends on your definition of "Miss Freeones"...is it the woman who's provided the best sexual entertainment for the members of Freeones, or is it someone who's contributed to the site and gave her time to get to know the boys here? I think until and unless the creator of Miss Freeones clarifies wtf Miss Freeones stands for, its hard to say WHO deserves it. To me, like I've said, its a fucking honor to be sitting amongst most of the girls in the contest, but I agree, its a bit irritating to see girls fly in once the smell of ten grand wafts their way, start posting hardcore content to win the dicks of the voters and act like they've been contributing here for years. Hence why you won't see me trying to bribe guys to vote for me...I know I won't win, but knowing that the guys that voted for me voted because they appreciate me and my contribution to the site, means far more to me than knowing I had to bend over to try to win votes. I'd rather have the votes of those who already like me, my camshows, my blog, my contribution here...maybe I'm being cheesy, but if I'm going to win anything here, I'd want to be acknowledged for being a deserving winner (I'm speaking of OCSM category here) rather than a girl who only pops in when moneys up for grabs. :dunno: *hopes this doesn't offend anyone*

The problem with the OCSM vote is that people who don't know a thing about the board can vote for someone. It's just another place to vote for their favourite girl to them. I've had DOZENS of guys ask me wtf an OCSM is, and what the OCSM category is about. I bet most of the voters have no clue what OCSM means. Shame they couldn't have restricted that categories voters to board members only.

You've hit the nail on the head on this one. In hindsight, I'm puzzled as to why the categories are so broad, as it seems we could eliminate 90% of the problem here by simply narrowing the qualifications to enter to win and who fits what category.

The contest is designed to encourage us all to participate, and send our surfers, friends and fans to Freeones. It does a good job of that and I wish Freeones every success - They deserve it!

I tried to make sure that I was only entered into the "proper" categories, but I bet not all the girls even bothered check.

Yea, I'm going to up my posts to the free ones board, but that was the intention of the comp wasn't it?

Mariah, you are a smart and feisty lady. I did vote for you in the cam section, but will redistribute now after your comments - I saw one of your cam shows during last year's competition and thought that you were deserving of the vote, but I get your point.

I too wonder about the OCSM category. One thing at least is that the voting is now weighted in favour of those that are MyFreeones members and the longer time a member the more you vote counts (for me - over a year = 4 times the weight), which makes it a little better - still not perfect. Maybe next year, then OCSM vote could be limited entry by posting frequency i.e. average number of posts/day.

This takes into account the number of days since the last OCSM became a member of the board up until their last post on the board.
The top 10 in the OCSM competition has in 3rd Sophie Dee with just 22 posts since she joined over 3 years ago, in 7th is Lupe Fuentes with a stunning 5 posts, in 8th Jessica Jaymes with 21 posts, 10th is Phoenix Marie with a missive 68 posts in 2 years. Lovely though they are, why are these girls even included?

Mariah, someone might have mentioned this already, but we need to consider the fact that a lot of votes come from people who do not frequent the board at all. A good portion of votes come from individuals that don't even know what 'OCSM' means/represents.

^^ Edit - this was indeed mentioned already, but I'd still like to reinforce the point.

Perhaps next year the OCSM category could be limited to the ladies that contribute (e.g. Mariah Milano, Spexy Ashleigh, Play With Alisa, etc.), and when I say 'contribute' I don't mean log in once in awhile to advertise. :uohs:
