The Politics of the Miss Freeones Contest

I was just looking at the results of today's voting in the Miss Freeones contest and realized how fucked up contests are. Freeones does a great job and this contest does a lot for many of the girls who are new to the contest and gives great exposure to them, like Miss Hybrid who came from nowhere last year and is now a solid name in the business. She can credit the Miss Freeones contest for that.

I will give you an example. Miss Freeones is broken into categories for different niche's of the industry.

Miss Freeones - Best Euro Babe - Best Cam Girl - Best Adult Model - Best Newcomer - Best Official Site - Best OCSM

now the Miss Freeones category encompasses everything in one.

Best Euro Girl - ok, I get that one too.

Best Camgirl - Phoenix Marie? Nikki Benz?? Me?? Sophie Dee?? Kelly Divine?? we are PORN STARS, not cam girls first of all. Now don't get me wrong, I appreciate being in the current #4 spot in this category, but I don't belong and there are others who should be in my spot. In my opinion the hottest camgirl period is CamwithCarmen. Seriously that is downright insane that she is in 18th place?? Gisele is on a very popular cam network and a beautiful girl who works hard and keeps her presence. I take nothing away from her. But those of us who are NOT camgirls should be removed and let the real camgirls duke it out for real

Who the fuck is voting in this contest anyway? REALLY??????? I am happy to be in the #3 spot but I don't deserve it. I don't post as often as I should but I'm up near 900 I think. I'm good for a few pic posts a month and to answer questions on priavte messages but that doesn't qualify me for BEST OSCM. Miss Hybrid? Absolutely! Vicky Vette? For sure. Gisele does a great job too.

I just wish that people actually considered what they are voting for. You might wonder why the fuck I'm bitching since I'm in the top 5 in every category. But I don't deserve to be. I shouldn't even be in one of the categories to begin with, much less be ahead of many girls far more deserving.

Originally, even Nikki Benz was up for Best Euro babe, if I remember correctly.

It seems that the definition of the term is debatable. As stated by Petra before the contest started, every girl holding a European passport is eligible as Euro Babe.

I beg to differ, because I only consider those ladies Euro Babes who primarily work in European productions (Private, DDF, 21Sextury, etc.) The currently best ranked whom I consider a true Euro Babe is Sandra Shine in #7.

I hate to say this but if this was a category for last year I would have actually voted for Nina since she is one of the few people like Sandee that runs her site herself and does most of the work on it, even page layout and stuff. However if you just even glance at her thread you will see all the complaints that have popped up on it lately about the content or lack thereof and the slowness things come out, and as much as I hate to say it and the fact I have even defended her a little about it in the past, the complaints seem more legitimate than they have been before.

At one time Puma was one of the biggest people on the board and one of the most frequent posters, but that was years ago. There would have been a time where she would have gotten votes from me in multiple categories, but for all practical purposes she has been retired or at least semi-retired for years now. I hardly see any new material from her and she doesn‘t post like she used to.

I don't have a problem with somebody that's just a solo girl or who doesn't do hardcore. The quality of their work, how good looking they are, and their personality mean more than that. In fact you probably don't want to hear this but the vast majority of hardcore girls out there probably would rather be able to do what the top non-hardcore girls do and to be doing as well as they are. The reason they don't do it is because they can't, plain and simple. They aren't good enough either in looks or some other factor and that's the nicest and simplest way I can put it. While the there might be a very small handful of hardcore pornstars that do hardcore stuff because they actually like it that much most of them do hardcore instead of just adult modeling is because they can't make it otherwise and aren't good enough to pull it off. I'm not a member to the sites of the people you have listed, but I have a feeling if I was I wouldn't be any more whelmed by them than most of the non hardcore sites out there.

I would also note that a lot of the OCSM that have a high post count and are active members of FreeOnes is kind of deceptive. A lot of those people are feast or famine when it comes to that and I have seen a lot of them disappear for months if not longer after they post a ton of stuff in a short time and then disappear again. (Although that still better than the people that hardly post.) I would look better upon somebody that post consistently one or twice a week for years on end than somebody that is gone for months, but post three hundred times in two weeks for example, especially if they take part in other threads than their own.

I think part of the problem with the Cam Girl category and the others like the Best OCSM is that FreeOnes should have better defined what the categories where about instead of just listing a title for them and that's it. Even if they can't really make people vote in a strict parameter they should have a least tried to list what the criteria for each category is, and what about it people should be voting about. I would have rather had it where the Cam Girl category was more limited to people that are perceived to be mainly cam girls, even if that would have called for a judgment call by the powers at be of FreeOnes and they would have had to turn some contestants away from the category. I would also like to see them list just what is different between best OCSM and the Miss FreeOnes category because some people might see it as the same thing when it shouldn't be. Still, I know there would be people out there that would just blindly vote for whomever.

More proof that this is just a giant popularity contest. People are going to vote for their favorites regardless of anything else. That's pretty much why I don't bother participating.

Sorry Mariah, but you're preaching to about 10% of the voters here. Many just vote for whatever porn star/model they like the best regardless of category. Even though freeones created specific categories intended to focus on specific merits, people don't like to consider who deserves the vote and instead they just pick random girls. It kind of pisses me off that people who have never posted here are voting for the best OCSM too. Close it off to the ones who have less than 50 posts. :2 cents:

The real winners for best OCSM (and Ms. Freeones as well) should be SpexyAshleigh or Play With Alisa, they have both contributed so much to this forum and until just a few weeks ago, SpexyAshleigh wasn't even an OCSM she was just a regular member like the rest of us, they truly are the Misses Freeones along with other OCSMs like yourself and Viorotica, Chica, Ms Hybrid, etc.. You had my vote before on the Ms. Freeones Contest and you've earned my respect for addressing this. Maybe the admins will listen to you.

Well one positive is that the deserving girls are doing a hell of a lot better now than they would be last year when it really was a popularity contest as everyone's vote was equal. So you didn't even need to post anything here as long as you had a shit load of supporters on Facebook, twitter etc.
