Re: The Official NCAA College Football Thread!

Hopefully the Texas/Ohio St. game will be a good game.

Real College Football fans love the Mid-Majors ...

Several in the Conference USA, Western Athletic and the occassional Mid-American team. Teams that keep it close, keep it exciting, even if they don't beat top 25 schools regularly. Also the same schools that produce a number of knock-out NFL prospects who are drafted in the mid-to-late rounds but then excel in the NFL when they have the supportive cast of equals -- unlike over-rated high picks that came from top teams who flew on the wings of others. The same teams don't act arrogant and try to whip up on I-AA, or get their non-conference I-A wins from Sun Belt teams.

Kids who play the game, and who were often overlooked by bigger colleges. Sometimes that comes back to haunt them when they see the recruits they passed over score on them and win the game in an upset. ;)

Week 2...and could be the game of the year. #1 Ohio State at #2 Texas. Ohio State owes Texas for the home field loss last year.

GO BUCKEYES !!!

Sorry!
One word for you: Chizik

Ohio State inside the Texas 20 no less than 4 times ...
Result? 4 field goals.

29-0 as Texas' D coordinator, and undefeated since even before he came to Texas back at Auburn. The man is a defensive genius. He doesn't need a top 25 program to do it either -- he spent 2 years before Auburn at UCF and they had a top 10 defense both years too.

That's a testament to how good of a D coordinator he is, and I don't see Ohio State reversing his capability. ;)

Re: The Official NCAA College Football Thread!

Well, tehe Texas/Ohio St. game was a big letdown. I was hoping it'd be a good game and come down to the last minute. Or atleast alot closer score then it ended up being. Once texas fumbled the football on the goal lineearly in the first half and Ohio St. had a big return, Texas was out of it from then on! Texas never recovered from that mistake.

No streak lasts forever? ;)
Although I'd like to keep my "streak" up and lasting forever when it comes to Ashley Robbins! ;)

Re: The Official NCAA College Football Thread!

Man, there's TOO many good games this weekend!

Nebraska at Southern California
Michigan at Notre Dame
Louisiana State at Auburn
Florida at Tennessee
Miami-Florida at Louisville
Texas tech at Texas Christian

I better replace the batteries on my remote! :crash:

Re: The Official NCAA College Football Thread!

One of the few times this year I will hope for a Notre Dame win.

My 2 favorite teams are Ohio State...and anyone playing Michigan! ;)

That is sort of my mom's philosophy. She has two favorite teams, whoever are playing Michigan and Notre Dame. When they play each other, it's the only time she grudgingly roots for the Wolverines. :1orglaugh

As a Ohio State Fan, I am always torn when it comes to Michigan. I kinda of root for the Big Ten... But the darn Wolverines
