I think the rotten economy and the uncertain outlook on our futures has left everybody a little less fun loving, I see it everywhere, people are somewhat stressed these days. :dunno:

I agree with you on that. I'm actually more concerned now than I was in 2009. We seem to truly be stuck in the mud now. At least in 2009, we got the tires spinning. I think the incredible uncertainty is affecting our moods.

And combined with the overall dower mood (both here and in Europe), I also think the social networks are drawing a lot of people away from message boards and forums. This same topic has come up on a couple of other (non porn) boards that I'm on, and that's what many of us think. So what's the answer? I say we draw straws and the one with the short straw has to go **** Mark Zuckerberg. Hey, it may sound extreme. But as a fellow once told me, "sometimes in life, ya gotta dig a hole."

I've done some research on the old days and found that they weren't that bad. I could go for the old days.

Nuh uh! I'd probably be a superstar among the old school generation. In fact, you jive turkeys can't handle me. Where's my time machine?

If you have something to say, spit it out. As long as you're offering constructive feedback, you're not going to get ******. If you're using it as an opportunity to drag the mods you don't like through the mud, then that's an entirely different story.

There are mods we're supposed to like?

In my opinion they do and I don't comprehend any problem putting them there. In fact, I could make the case that they would do better in the Babes section. But, fair enough. Either way I'll be here tomorrow and so on. I was able to say my piece and none of it is meant personally at the mods. Individually, I like them just fine. But if I see them all in the same car, I'm shooting at the tires. :D

From what I have noticed when threads such as these are placed in the Babe section they have very few replies. Nevertheless I do agree this may be a better place to place them perhaps in a Babes Talk or some such sub-forum. This may also draw more folks over to that section who only go their to browse the other Babe threads. I have also thought this may indeed be a good idea for some of those lurkers who wish to post more often on said topics but do not due to their current locale in the Talk which is often a different ***** from the rest of the forum... at least in my time here.

I have to agree with Mayhem and teh Grasshopper on this issue. These poll-threads could easily be replaced to the babe section, after all, it's all about them. As for the other examples Mayhem gave, indeed maybee perhaps you should split up the Talk section in a serious items part and a non serious items part?

I remember a few years ago having to break up a group of some 'popular' members for creating a little group to specifically harass newbies. So I think it was just as hard back then for newbies to establish a personality as it is today.

We had certain 'intolerant' members of newbies back in the day and we still have them now. And if one of them goes away, we'll have someone step up and take their place.

Obviously, all sad, desperate losers IRL. :2 cents:

Man this thread makes me feel welcome as a relative 'newcomer'. ps I think the atmosphere here has become a lot nastier since Obama was elected president

It's clearly Obama's fault. What the hell are we going to do when he gets reelected?
Best pray to God (who Obama neglected to mention in his Thanksgiving Day speech) that doesn't happen

My signup date shows 2008, but I only posted here a few times from 2008 through 2010 -- there were even times I forgot that I even had an account here! A year ago, I logged in on a whim ... and have been posting on a daily basis ever since. After reading thru the posts on this thread, I regret missing out on some good times and quality posters. But having said that, I really like FO as it is now. Some folks are very witty, charming and cool, while others are simply very nice and sweet, and the mods have always been understanding and supportive. Looking at pix of naked beautiful women is all good, but it's the members here that keep me coming back. :sunny:
