I'm thinking about repainting her...it's been that color for 13 years.

I dunno, she's a nice looking ride. I like the color. If you want to spend money, what about flames or some pinstriping.

:2offtopic I could spend the rest of my life watching a good pinstriper work. Mainly because I'm completely hopeless at it.

I'll get it painted black, and have a friend do it. That paint job cost me $150 bucks, and I'll be able to get a decent base coat/clear coat for a couple of hundred bucks. I would put a top notch paint job on it, if it was something I knew I was going to keep forever, but I'm not sure anymore. I can't ride like I used to, and all of my riding buddies are dead or sold their bikes. If I get a newer one, it will have the paint job this one was going to have. Black, with blood red ghost skulls, or purple/blue ghost flames. We'll see. But thanks for appreciating her...wanna buy her?

I wish, but I'm so broke that I couldn't leave town if it cost a dollar to go around the world.

I hear ya right now... my goal was to by one this Spring, had my eye on a nice BMW cruiser, but with a giant IRS bill that came this month, looks like that dream is going to wait a while...

I grew up riding, but haven't had a bike since college. I miss it

Nice bike. Comfy for 2.

Doesnt really classify as a motorbike, as its only 70cc but this is what I ride

They sell dirt bikes with smaller engines, that qualify as motorcycles. If you can use it to get your endorsement, it counts. It may not attract the trashy, leather halter wearing kind of girl that will do dirty, dirty things in public...but if you like it, and you're having fun, so what.

Well, I traded the old girl in...broke my heart, but I'm getting too old to lay on a cold garage floor, to wrench on an old shovel head, and I couldn't afford to keep her, and buy the new one. I was sure I would NEVER have another blue bike...just because I had one for so long...but she caught my eye, and it just felt right, so I went for it. I started out working on a deal for a bike similar to mine, only much newer. It was black, with silver flames, and laid out like my old one, (forward controls, drag bars, etc.), but I saw this one...which I named Jezeballe, out of the corner of my eye, and when I sat on her...it was sooooooo good. The first four pics are how she looked when I brought her home, then I changed the pipes, and front rim (the last three pics), and replaced the race tuner...it had a Power Commander, I put in a Screamin Eagle. It has a 96" fuel injected twin cam engine with a heavy breather air intake, and a 6 speed transmission. The old one was 74", and a 4 speed.

The new bike is looking good! Sometimes change is good, hard to do but it is good!

That, my friend, is pretty. Nice colour, and very nice rims.

I'm curious, just for comparison's sake, what kind of mileage does it get?

Thanks man.

I think about 40-45mpg...I haven't taken her on a long ride yet. The old one was about 30mpg...but it was a rocket. I don't have enough space to list everything I did to her....but it cost me about $3000.00 13 years ago. That's just the engine.

I didn't know it when I bought the bike, but the color was a special offer, in 2007 only, called Jake and Elwood Blues. It's cool, but kinda sucks too...now if I want to repaint her, I have to but all new sheet metal.

I picked out the front rime...I hate spokes, but the rear rim was on it, and is over sized. The tire is a 200, instead of a 180.

That 200 likely screws with your speedometer. You should have a friend follow you and keep track of your speed when you put your hand up, or something. It may avoid tickets later...

That's not bad mileage for that bike. It will be interesting to see if it is better or worse on a long trip - with my BMW R1100 I get about 60 mpg in town. On the highway I get about 66 mpg. But I also drive like a granny.

And you need to find a good paint guy. He'll match that, and if he's worth his name, he'll know how to mix that year of paint. That info is out there...
Having said that, may you never need paint. :)

It's been on the dyno. The new Harley's are all computerized, and electronic, any time you do ANYTHING to the bike, they have to dyno it...for 3 hours...at $70.00 per hour . I know what you're saying, but when they set it up, for low, mid and high rpm performance, they set the fuel injection, and all of that happy horse shit. I have a problem with the throttle...I like to crank it all the way. It's gotten me arrested on the old bike...probably will on this one. They got me doing 103, in a 35...long story, but I did avoid the fleeing and alluding charge.

As far as the paint goes, I know there are guys that can match it. I meant, if I want to change the color, or do flames, etc. I have to buy new sheet metal, so I can store the special order tank/fenders, because I like to have all of the original parts just in case. If it were just a standard factory color, I could paint right over it.

A Beemer is always going to get better performance then a Harley...it's not for attention whoring, it's for touring and transportation. I worked with a guy that had a K1100...he put 14,000mi on it, in one season. He belonged to a BMW club, did the "4 corners" run. Had a suit he could plug into the bike...fucking rode all year, as long as the ground was dry. I used to do March to November, or the first snowfall. Hell, I would ride in Jan., if it were dry...but no more. I'm to old for that shit. late April, to late Oct., no rain, no wrenching...I doubt I'll even change the fuckin oil myself anymore. I wanna ride, I'm done digging for the right socket!
