The do most US of A citizens drive cars with 4L engines thread

Maybe I'm wrong, but the impression I get of US cars, is that even a grandma will be likely to push a 4L lump of unecessarily sized metal around. I would say that in England the average car would be around 1.6-2L, but my impression is that 2L is maybe considered to be a small engine in the US, here we have like1.1L's, and people actually drive them around. Are 1.1's even sold in America? and what's an average size engine? what's small? and what's actually considered big over there?

The small cars in the US i.e. the Honda Fit, Toyota Yaris etc. are in the 1.5L range. Most cars fall in the 1.8L-2.3 L range. Of course what throws everything off is that we have a lot of people driving pick up trucks so that's where the big motors come in.

No...most Dodge cars above the tiny sub coms have the 3.5 L V-6. Same for the Chrysler (300, Crossfire, etc) with a 3.5 or 3.2 L hot engine...( 3.2-liter 18-valve V6 engine for the Crossfire ).
My Dodge magnum has the 3.5L High Output six; goes real fast and gets 25+ mpg at 75 mph and carries a lot...with mucho room inside. Same engine as the standard Dodge Charger.
Things are way different since I had my '73 Cadillac Sedan with the last year of the 472 C.I. V-8...va-rooom!

I have a hover car. It runs on garbage and pointless threads. Thanks for the fuel! :hatsoff:

Why does everything have to be "The (insert theme of thread here) thread"?????

If in the future, someone has a question about the size of the engines in Americans cars, are they to be directed to this thread? Since this is the "do most US of A citizens drive cars with 4L engines thread"??

I was thinking that myself, "the do" part started off funny, now its a pain in the ass reading thread names.

Yes. I think I have a 1.1 in my lawn mower. ;)

Americans don't know how to make cars, they don't know how to drive cars, and they've now proven to not even know anything about them ...

I'm watching some specialist videos
When I was in LA a couple of years ago, I hired a small family car. A dodge with a 3L engine that pulled like a chicken and had the top speed of a snail. Where the hell did all the power from a 3L engine go? I used to drive a Renault 5 GT Turbo, a 1.4L turbo charged engine pushed 0-60 in a fraction over 7 seconds and a top speed of around 125mph.

The engine in mine is a 3.7. I would consider something smaller if I lived in a city. I think FIAT is bringing the 500 over here and were finally getting the good Ford Focus. I could live with either of those. As for the GWhizz or whatever hairdresser car the OP drives? No thanks.

I drive a Honda CRX 1.5L 38mpg on reg gas. Most people around here (S Cal) drive an SUV with a V8 getting about 15mpg (if they're easy on the peddle).

Well currently I own 2 trucks one is a 1997 Dodge Dakota 3.9L V-6(the largest V-6 available) 4x4 this gets about 21mpg.

My other truck is a 2001 Dodge Ram 5.9L V-8 360hp this gets about 13mpg(it will reach 14mpg once in a blue moon if I'm lucky )this one is also a 4x4.

I will never drive anything except a 4x4 truck living in Nebraska 4x4's are basically a necessity. Plus I do a lot of hunting and the areas I hunt a 4x4 is a requirement.

Oh look, a conceited German. We know as much about cars as we do about stopping National Socialists - quite a bit. Shut your cake hole! :fight:
