I just got back from my second showing. I have to say, it was way better the second time. Maybe it was because this time I didn't leave to take a piss and miss a crucial moment? Or maybe because I went with my girlfriend instead of my friends. I don't know why, but this movie was way better this time. Heath's performance really got to me this time. He is bloody amazing (Though I still like Two-Face more). My girlfriend loved him, too. After the movie, she coudln't stop talking about the scene at the mob meeting.

Yea especially with Heath Ledger.. He was a big reason why I loved TDK.

Absolutely!!! The movie itself is awesome, but Ledger's performance, especially when he's explaining about his father is riveting.

the part in the mob meeting when he made the pencil disappear was the best!

That was genious both times. When that scene came up, people applauded. The scene where he mets Two-Face in the hospital, wearing the nurse outfit and wig, and says "Hi" is also classic.

(And, I've noticed the scene where he is talking to Batman in the interogation room and the Joker says "They'll cast you out. Like a leper." I'm the only one in the theatre that find that funny.)

It's not "lemur", it's LEPER, cast out like a leper.

And the award for "Biggest idiot of the week" goes to... Me!

I would like to thank...

I'm just... going to change that...

I've finally got an opening this afternoon to go see it only a week or so late, but I'm excited.

Saw it for the second time and I liked it even better than the first. That one scene where the joker goes ''Why so serious"? just gives me the chills every time. Do you believe that two-face is dead? I definitely dont bcuz it shows the coin landing on the heads side which means he would live.

I saw it last week. I didnt think it was as good as Batman Begins, it was too long and they tried to cram too much into one film. Aaron Eckhardt got more camera time than Heath Ledger and Christian Bale combined. Considering it was a movie about Batman there was very little of Batman in it. The director seemed too occupied with setting the scene.

As regards the next Batman film; there were loads of hints throughout the dark knight that suggested catwoman would be one of the next villains. Perhaps the most obvious being when Wayne asks Lucious to design him a new bat suit. He asks him will it protect him against dog attacks. Luscious responds that it should but it will also protect him against cats.
Its obvious that the next film will focus on Batman being demonised by the Gotham citizens and him trying to seek redemption. I would imagine that a possible story line would be an unknown villain starting to terrorize Gotham and Batman receives the blame and a witch-hunt ensues. Batman then will have to simultaneously stop the villain from killing more people while at the same time not get caught by the police. Knowing Chris Nolan, he will probably focus on the internal struggle Wayne/Batman has of doing good but at the same time being demonised by the public.

Okay, I've finally seen it. I'm utterly amazed. I wasn't familiar with any of Heath Ledger's roles before this one, but that was utterly astonishing.

Heath was also great in "Brokeback Mountain" as well. Yeah, I made jokes about the movie like everyone else, but upon hearing Ledger was cast as the Joker a few years back, my curiosity about his performance in that particular film was at a all time high, and I am happy to say I was not the least bit disappointed. And to be perfectly honest, it's THE film prior to TDK that essentially convinced me that Ledger would make a great Joker.

I agree, but with regard to the new film I have to wonder if they'll really be able to keep getting more mileage out of the "hero has to turn to the dark side" theme. You can only make that movie so many times before it gets very old.

Please no Catwoman....I can't see how she can work in Nolan's *realistic* vision...I do think a female villain is needed in the 3rd, I just don't know which one.

Riddler
Bane
Black Mask

^^^This is where I think I want it to go..

I think Catwoman could work very well but not as the main villain. She's a cat burglar and could work as the second villain involved in the story. In fact if you read "The Long Halloween" you'll see how well Catwoman could work. If they do go with Catwoman I hope they don't do the whole resurrected by cats angle. As far as the main villain I say go with The Riddler or throw Hush into the mix.

Media Hyped Mega Bullshit!!!!

I wouldnt go that far.

Saw it. Not bad. I liked the first one.

.. and.. I dont really know what to say about this one. The beginning felt tacked-on. Too fake. Guy in the courtroom taking a gun to Dent? Pfft. The joker? Wasnt introduced. He just.. appears. Which is alright, since that might be explained in the third movie OR you can go by the story he told Rachel as backstory. (Speaking of.. I didnt like Katie Holmes *OR* Maggie Spoogenthal... so I feel no guilt for either of them in their respective.. losses. So to speak.)

However.. the joker was an excellent enemy. He was intelligent, he was kooky yet sadistic.. and unlike all these one-shot throwaway movie bad guys.. (DARTH MAUL?! ONE MOVIE?! WTF!!!!Vader got 3 movies AND the prequels.) he's still got plenty of fight left in him by the end.

Harvey Dent. He's half the story in this one. Premature end, if you ask me. Granted he was really careless at the end, there. Oh well.

There wasn't supposed to be a backstory. Nothing would do him justice. Nolan said that he "just is The Joker". He is absolute. Besides, having the multiple backstories like they did in the movie is even better. It's not the movie, but in the comics he says "Sometimes I remember it one way, sometimes another... if I'm going to have a past, I prefer it to be multiple choice!"

The Dark Knight is incredible. It deserves all the praise it is getting. Good to know it's even better seeing the second time because I'm going to see it at least two or three more times.
