Yes I can and I will. lol.

I was a crack addict. And I KNOW (as strongly as I can know anything that I cannot actually know - if that makes any sense) that my life would be better then it is if I had not have been tricked into using crack back in 1999.
Would my life be ALOT better? Maybe; maybe not. But I guarantee you it would be better.

Wow! you are tenacious mcrocket! I don't think there are many people willing to reveal that in public! I can't imagine what kind of strenght you must have required to achieve that feat... I started trying quitting smoking about a month ago and it feels terrible, I must get rid of that filthy habit and your comment is another incentive to make it! thanks

With all due respect to people...this is getting a bit out of hand.

We are talking about a person that (I assume) none of you ever knew personally. It's sad and all...but many of you people sound like you just lost your personal friend.
If she was ugly, none of you would be going on like this.

4 U.S. soldiers died in Iraq today (apparently). Now I was/am against the war in Iraq. But even I have to acknoledge that these people volunteered for a duty (probably) because they thought they were helping their country (and maybe the world). Naive, maybe. But a noble sentiment nonetheless.
But you never hear any of the over 1600 men and women of the U.S. military who died over their mentioned in a thread. Not even by Americans. But one once gorgeous pornstar dies at 29 and the thread goes on and on.

And say what you want about the war over there (which, as I typed, I think is silly and the U.S. should get out); is anyone suggesting that any of those 1600 were less worthy of praise and RIP's then a once beautiful pornstar? And most of them were much younger then Chloe Jones was.
Oh, but hers was sudden. We don't know how it happened? She was a troubled person who led a fast life with some medical problems. No wonder she is dead. I wish (especially for her kids sake) that she was not. And if it was from natural causes, that would be sad. But I bet you her lifestyle contributed, in some way, to her early demise. And she picked her lifestyle. So her death, as far as I am concerned is at least partly of her own doing - until I hear eveidence to the contrary.

And like I said...if she was a run-of-the-mill looking pornstar; no one would have mentioned it. But because she was once a babe; many act like they will miss her so much.
You should miss her no more then any other human being that you never knew personally. She was no better or worse. Just, at one time, MUCH better looking.

So I am not saying shame on some of you or anything. But she is not the first pornstar to die recently. But she is the best looking that has died in a LONG time. So she gets the longest and most heart felt sounding R.I.P.'s.
So the bottom line is; sorry people; but some of you are, at this point in your lives, rather too focused on looks and star power. If she was just an average looking pornstar - few of you would have noticed or cared. And to me, that is kind of sad. Not horrible. Just kinda sad.

Well said I agree 100%

Thanks buddy. But I believe that you let people know the worst about you up front. If they cannot handle it - then I don't want to know them anyway. You get interesting reactions from people when you tell them you are an ex-crackhead (as you could probably imagine).
In terms of quitting; thanks for the compliment. It was hard; but perhaps differently then most people would think. Crack is NOT a physically addictive drug. But it IS emotionally VERY addictive. So it is more a test of your emotional strength then your physical strength (good thing too, since I have SUCH a low tolerance for pain and discomfort).
Nicotine - as you obviously know - IS physically addictive. So in some ways it is harder to quit smoking then crack. So don't feel bad. I used to only smoke when I drank and got high; so when the drugs and the booze went away - so did the smoking. But I think it would have been MUCH harder had I smoked all the time.
SO hang in there man. What your doing is VERY hard. So everyday you stay off - in my opinion - you should give yourself a little pat on the back.
I should add; that when I quit all that nonsense I did replace it with one other vice - food. SO I gained 35 pounds or so. And being 42; I am having a harder time dropping the weight then I did quitting crack.

MAN...all these human vices. They are good for absolutely nothing.

Again, thanks for the good words. And I truly hope you make it.

One interesting thing about the human lungs is that they apparently have an incredibly good recovery ability. I have read that even not smoking for a few hours has a positive effect on lungs. They don't just feel better; they actually get better. So quitting is definitely worth it. You CAN have relatively healthy lungs again.

Okay, after reading let me just say, anyones death is something to be mourned. Whether it is a single mother who leaves a child behind, a soldier whom died for his country fighting a war that some people agree with and others don't, or a gorgeous and very succesful pornstar who not only spent much of her life making movies and pictures to please her fans and still have time to raise a child. Every person is important.
Thus, I give my condolenses to her family and friends. Her death saddens many.

Now to get off the subject...
McRocket, your are very well read!!! Quiting smoking is an incredibly difficult thing, but quiting cocaine is hard too! Your body has to go through withdrawl from the decease in catacholamine release and that can be pretty nasty too. Give yourself more credit! Anybody who gets over or is attempting to get over any sort of addiction is a person worth admiring. Oh, and you are right about the smoking thing... 15 years of non-smoking, and your lungs are as healthy as they were before you started (barring that you haven't done permanent damage already with emphysema.

Thank you for the compliment. But I am 42 and have much spare time - my degree of well readness (is that a word? lol) can be credited in large part to age and boredom. But I thank you nonetheless.
Speaking of well read - you seem to be one of those on this forum that may indeed be the definition of the term. You certainly know alot (and you obviously speak well). Might I enquire as to how you have come to know all these things? I do not think I have ever heard of the word catacholamine. What is that? Is that the ingredient in cocaine that casues the brain to slow in it's re-absorption of dopamine, and thus produce the high. At least that is my understanding of how the drug 'does it's thing'.

An impressive posting - at least to me.

Oh. And though it is belated...

Happy Birthday.

Sportyone has said that the cause of death was liver failure. I feel very sorry for Chloes family and all her friends and I feel especially sorry for her children.

Actually I don't think liver failure at 29 is so unlikely, the articles say that she was under a lot of prescription, and you only have to take a look to a few common prescribed medicines and you'll realise that one of the possible side of each of them is liver failure... that's because the liver is the organ in charge of processing every kind of intake you give to your body. It's amazing how us humans are so vulnerable without knowing it.

BTW. I just checked in the internet for the spelling of the word...
Hepatitis
I checked it at http://www.thefreedictionary.com/hepatitis, .... the freedictionary is a very good tool, you might find it useful from time to time

To start, let me say I have no clue exactly what happened to Chloe, and I especially have not had the time to look a lot of it up.
To answer mrocket's question, I have aquired my knowledge because I am studying to be a doctor. Let me reiterate that, I am STUDYING to be a doctor. I am a medical student and not a doctor, so I do not pretend to have all the answers.
On that note, to answer some questions brought up. Yes, many different prescription and over the counter drugs can cause liver problems. For example, tylenol in high doses is liver-toxic, and its toxicity is enhanced with alcohol intake. This is one of thousands of examples.

As for hepatitis... hepatitis is inflamation of the liver. It can be caused by outside sources (i.e. drugs/alcohol), inside sources (like a body reaction), or other sources like a virus. These virus' are what most people think of when someone says hepititis. There are 5 main Hepatitis Virus' (Hep A, B, C, D, E) Hepatitis A and E are aquired orally and usually only lead to a mild hepatitis that eventually resolves completely. Hepatitis B and Hep C are aquired through fluid exchange (blood transfusions, sex, etc..). Hep B usually is removed via your own immune system, but 5-10% of the time becomes a chronic, life-long infection. However, it seldemly causes complete liver failure. Hep C is similar to B, but becomes a chronic infection more often. Hep D is the bad one. It usually leads to liver failure. The interesting thing is that one has to be infected with Hep B to get Hep D.

Ultimately, an article that says Chloe died of liver failure is more of an amiguous answer. Liver failure can be caused by so many different things that one can't narrow it down without knowing more. On that note, it most likely points out that something else happened since liver failure tends to be associated with a cause. However, lets remember that her medical information is confidential to her and her family, and that the only info we need to know is that she passed away.

Once again I give condolences to Chloe's family, friends, and fans.
