Texas Killer Who Killed Over a Stolen Twinkie is Acquitted

The secret ingredient? MY BALLS
My cousin, who is on the Border Patrol, used to live in Laredo and that isn't a really good area. It's kind of run down and crappy.

It makes sense to me. Three punk ass kids broke into that guys home, tried to steal food, the home owner was scared for his life so he defended himself in fear. He had no clue if they had a weapon or anything. He had every legal right to defend himself, so he did.

I feel bad for the kids parents, but it wasn't that mans fault that their kid was stupid enough to try and rob somebodies home.

And be that the subject in question is acquitted, we might refer to the gentleman as "defendant" as opposed to "Texas Killer".

Even though he was acquitted he still killed someone. "Texas Killer" is still accurate. (And I also think he was justified).

I don't see what the fuss is all about. The kids broke into his house so he has a legal right to defend himself using whatever means he feels is required.

....."confronted the boys with a 16guage shotgun. Then forced the boys, who were unarmed,to their knees.....The boys say they were begging for forgiveness when Gonzalez hit them with the barrel of the shotgun & kicked them reapeatedly. The medical examiner testified Anquiano was SHOT IN THE BACK at close range".

Pretty unmanly of Gonzales to shoot a 13 year old in the back while down on his knees. :dunno: Maybe not a murder charge ,but the guy should have at least gotten some lesser charge.
We've turned into such a country of cowards that are so paranoid/fearful about crime that we can justify shooting a 13 year old in the back. Since friends & family know his name & location I wouldn't feel sorry if Mr Gonzales suffered a similiar fate.

I had not read the story and now that you posted that it sheds a new light on it.If he had just shot them that would be one thing but to have them on their knees and then just basically execute them is entirely different.Thats murder in my book.

Whoa, hold on, thanx girk1, I didn't know the particulars of this matter, if the shooter (MR. G.) actually did do what girk1 mentioned, in light of these details I am certainly DISGUSTED @ this (COWARDS) actions, granted I said I would smoke em' if they break into my home! but, if I assessed the danger and had the (intruders) under control and (KNEW) they were an un-armed, harmless, hungry 13 yr olds I would NOT take that life, let alone beat em with the (butt-end) of a weapon!!

MR. GONZALES IS A COWARD AND SHOULD MOST DEFINITELY BE CHARGED WITH MURDER!! :thefinger

I am quite sure MR. GONZALES could have handled the situation without beating / killing one of the kids!! thats just UNMERCIFUL OVER-REACTION!! this man ought to be shamed to death!! :hatsoff:

The youngest boy was 11 years old. I have an 11 year old nephew & he & his little brother have gotten chastised on a couple occasions about retrieving their football/basketballs from a grumpy neighbors yards without telling us.

I can't imagine one of them picking up something that didn't belong to them(which some kids will do sometimes to our embarassment) or setting off some paranoid guy & he shoots them in the back while on their knees begging for their lives:dunno::mad:

You are right he could have handled that situation much, much better. Maybe if the guy was startled & shot into a dark room I would empathize a bit, but as you say he had clearly assessed the situation & even ordered the other kids to remove their friends corpse after he had shot him in the back.
I would not have any sympathy the old man suffered a similiar fate.

This is absolutely disgusting. Funny how we'll call countries where people chop the hands of thieves barbaric, but when it comes to everyday citizens executing people for burglary without trial, we're fine with it.

You should be allowed to use reasonable force to protect your property, not deadly. Who the hell drafted these laws? They ought to be held accountable for this.

The concept of actual private property just baffles some people.

If I enter the doors of a private residence without due consent of the proprietor, I deserve anything that might come in my direction.

We all interpret our liberties differently - What is ones' liberty is anothers' oppression & vice versa. I guess that there are some that would like a community mess hall and leave it at that. :dunno:
