Suppertime! Suppertime! Hey Fellas, What'd You Have For Supper Tonight?

All you can eat snow crab legs from some Szechuan Chinese joint. They were so good I didn’t even eat anything else from the buffet.

Some great Seafood Paella and a bottle of wine with appetizers and dessert at a neat, small Spanish place on San Vicente just south of Beverly Center named La Paella. The wife just had a second helping of flan that she emptied out of a bag.

A couple of pieces of Chicago deep dish pizza, from Antonio's. It was filled with meatball topping, and sausage.

1 lb Beef Brisket
1 lb Baked Beans

From Brian’s Texas BBQ at Farmer’s Market on Fairfax & 3rd. Sure was good.

Did you take home? I hope so.

Friday at Rossi's was a fish day. I missed it but got treys yesterday morning. A half of cakes and 2 of fish. Yea, I paid but I have enough fish packed into my freezer for months. Good stuff they make.

Did you take home? I hope.

Yes. I had a burrito for lunch there then went over to the BBQ stand to pick up the brisket and baked beans eating that for dinner. That place has some great BBQ.

Anyone visiting LA should have lunch at the Farmer’s Market. It’s right next to CBS where you can catch a show and also by The Grove where you can do some shopping.

"In case I forget later:" the classic Easter dinner: ham, scalloped potatoes, niblet corn - washed down with some riesling, followed up with a slice of strawberry cheesecake.

What do you mean by catch a show at CBS studios? Is it like you can walk up to a desk person and buy a ticket to something? Or is it a thing where you ride on a bus and watch shit going on.

I'm sorry but I don't know LA shit. Never been there. Yea, I know, a hamster can book a flight to LA and back. I'm not such a travelin' guy. Now, if I can get to Santa Anita during my trip, that's worth going. Get cabs for those lunches. Dino ...you may be the Mario Perillo of LA.

Dino, what are cabs like there? Are they sharks like in Poughkeepsie or "Hey poppi. $5 for a ride."

You can get tickets online for shows like The Price Is Right and other stuff. They used to come into the Farmer's Market, ask you if you wanted to catch a show, then give you tickets.

I enjoy taking my wife out to dinner. She works hard as a nurse, comes home and takes care of the house, and is a sweet gal who puts up with my goofy nonsense. I find different places to go so we are always trying new things. I'll find something interesting on Yelp and show her and see if she likes the idea. I would say I'm pretty decent finding foreign-type food and very moderately priced places. LA is a melting pot so pretty much every country on earth is represented. Glad we finally hit up that Spanish place last night.

I made a big roaster of homemade kielbasa (by my friends and myself), and put it on top of 2 jars of homemade sour kraut (a couple of my friends put up batches, a couple of times a year). My mother in law made a ham, there was sweet potatoes, and a rice, asparagus, and potato salad, Diablo-ed eggs. There is a piece of apple, pear crumble coming my way latter, when the wife gets home.

Diablo-ed eggs. Time to share. What is your secret ingredient. For me it is a dash of mustard. Go ahead. What does an ass hat do to make eggs more yummy? Hot sauce not included. Hot sauce doesn't count since it is ...hot sauce. Much like ranch dressing. Everything tastes better with hot sauce or ranch dressing.

Had family over for Easter dinner. We had so much food I had to make two plates. One with sliced turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, biscuits creamed corn (I put turkey gravy on everything) the other plate had green beans, sliced Honey Baked Ham, deviled eggs, stuffing with gravy ( I put gravy on everything, I like gravy) I am stuffed. I won’t eat for another week. Oh and sweet iced tea. Pecan pie for dessert.

I'm sorry Bob, I didn't make the egg's. Just the kielbasa and kraut.

BC, I do the same thing at those family feasts and they think I'm weird. They don't get it. Why pile a mountain onto a plate that will be cold half way through? Make a regular plate with half the selections then take a short digestion rest. Make another small plate with the goodies you missed. Deserts? Have small pieces and remember to have a sample of the things people made on their own. My family always sends home plates. I caught on to that and give the gift of plastic on Christmas. A nice Tupperware set and a cheap Ziploc set. 90% will be in other people's houses come the end of the year. You did send people home with plates, didn't you?

Hey AssHat, group kielbasa several times a year? This conversation needs to be moved to the Niche and Fetish Corner.

You know that I can't buy a steak thicker than 3/8" local. I have to get them from my boss that lives near a place called Adam's. It's a small chain of supermarkets but ithey are Amazon of brick and mortar food. Everything and anything to eat. It's pricy but they run sales on a regular basis on their very good meats. Boss picks me up Porters and T's while doing his every weekend BBQ. Fresh k on sale at $2.79 in the house.. I'm cooking it now.

Paella. I do love seafood, and rice is the best grain there is.
