The Spurs wanted to wear their uniforms tonight too but their team couldn't get them ready in time. As protests go it's pretty lukewarm. Nash has gotten in trouble before for speaking his mind (he opposed the war in Iraq before it started). The idea that politics doesn't belong in sports is misguided I think. If you believe something is wrong and someone is putting a microphone in front of your face, you should speak up.
Michael Jordan spent his whole career avoiding any political activism or controversy or even activity. He could have changed the world, but all he did was sell shoes. Steve Nash has 1/10th the talent MJ had on the court but I admire him more. I guess it doesn't hurt that I agreed with him about Iraq.
The Suns are a business and that means they need to reach out to Hispanics who are a big percentage of the population in AZ. Not only that, they're the only ones who are having kids. Ahh now you see why they drafted Robin Lopez!
I only wish that the my Knicks were in the position to have to decide what kind of uniforms to wear in May.
