Michael Jordan spent his whole career avoiding any political activism or controversy or even activity. He could have changed the world, but all he did was sell shoes.
A huge part of that is probably because he was making huge amounts of money off of a corporation that was using exploitation and sweatshop labor that he let use his name and he endorsed. There wasn't any way for him to speak out about any political or social issues without being a gigantic hypocrite, which he would have been. Combine that with the fact he was not willing to make less money by doing the right thing even when he already had an enormous amount and he was stuck.
He might of tried to avoid activism, but he did change the world. He made it worse.
