It's been a few months since Lady passed and we were considering looking for a new pup when a friend called and said he had a pup that an army friend had abandoned at his place when he got out of the service and he couldn't handle the pup.

Say hello to the rescued pup.

Nalle - a wonderfully sweet, energy-packed, 4-5 month old blue nose pit that we added to our family three days ago. She has settled in nicely at the bottom of the family pack - but not before Fat Baby, my small female cat, drew blood and successfully removed herself from the bottom of the pecking order.

Fat Baby, Candy (my camera-girl/editor/roommate/best friend), and Nalle (after Fat Baby had completed her attitude adjustment on her).

And she has a stocking fetish.......

Busted!

So far we're at three "accidents", zero non-puppy items chewed, she heals beautifully and even runs next to the bike well, has exhibited no disturbing fear or aggression traits and she loves oranges and bananas.

Vet checkup later this week.

Oh - and she loves water.

She is gorgeous! Pit Bulls are banned over here in the UK but my cousin has a dog that looks just like that, they go under the name Irish Blue Staffordshire Bull Terriers.

Mr. Daystar

In a bell tower, watching you through cross hairs.
I'm not a fan of Pit Bull's, but she is cute, and I hope you have good luck with her...hopefully no one fucked her head up before you got her. I'm glad you've moved on, I how hard it can be sometimes.

Aww she's really a cute pup, pap! :)

Thanks guys.

Nalle is turning out to be a very socially balanced pup.

But I am insisting visitors follow the house rules - NO HYPER PLAYING WITH THE PUPPY! Keep the excitement level low and within minutes she lies at (on if she can) her new friends feet and chills.

So far Nalle has demonstrated no noticeable separation anxiety, no food aggression, and a healthy respects my property and space - meaning no chewing on anything that's not hers and she stays off the furniture (except her couch and the "lookout" chair by the kitchen window), stays out of the laundry room, the bedroom and doesn't crowed me at the doors or when I'm getting the bike out of the garage.

She heals perfectly for me and we've even mastered the beside the bike trot although she's a little lazy at times. ;)

She responds much better to unspoken commands than spoken commands and is very quick to pick up on one's body language and emotional state. I don't even need to verbally or physically scold her - she can read my disapproval in my mood and knows she's done wrong. Her need to be part of the pack (family), and to therefore please the pack is all you need to control her.

Nalle also demonstrates many attributes of having above-average olfactory abilities for a pup her age.

On the down side, she's not yet 100% house trained and she's still a little possessive of her toys and is fairly stubborn. She's also just as comfortable as the alpha as she is as a member of the pack so in the event of no strong pack leadership, she will rule the house. In fact, this is the reason she was removed from her last home. Basically a defective owner that didn't understand dogs and never should have had one in the first place.

Oh, and she snores as bad as my mother.

You may remember my guardian Great Dane called "Dog"

He passed away peacefully (which I was very happy with as I would have hated him to be in distress or have to be put to sleep) in his sleep at the end of January and I can not face getting another one.

I just can't bring myself to even think about getting another. Has anyone else ever felt that way and does it pass.

My Dalmatian and two German Pointers, who are brothers are completely lost without him.

On a happier note, these are my pointers who have just had a hard day trying to dig the rabbits up that, live in my garden.

Notice how they like to cover the leather sofa with mud. This is to make it tastier when they decide to eat it.

Brotherly love...

Hey, isn't that a title from Mandy Flores clip store?
