Sarah Palin Gives Her Support To Louie Gohmert For House Speaker


Former GOP vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin voiced her support this week for Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX) to become the new House speaker.

During a Monday appearance on Fox News Channel's "Hannity," Palin told host Sean Hannity that Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) should be thanked for his service and should step down.

"I love Louie Gohmert," Palin said. "I love those Texan politicians who call it like they see it and are true conservatives. So, I'd be rootin' for Louie."

On Tuesday, Palin took to Facebook to appeal to House Republicans for their support of Gohmert.

"As you compete to make it to the Capitol this morning through that DC snow, remember that competition is good in ALL things; it makes everyone work harder and producer (sic) better, and it keeps us fresh, active and on our toes," Palin wrote. "It's time for new energy and positive progress in Congress."

She also provided an alternate candidate in the form of Rep. Ted Yoho (R-FL).

"Please consider 'Gunnin' for Gohmert' or going 'Yahoo for Yoho,'" Palin wrote.

Gohmert publicly announced that he would challenge Boehner for the Speakership during Sunday's "Fox & Friends Weekend."

He also publicly thanked Palin for her support via Twitter.

I'm going to ask the question here; Are any Conservatives on this board actually in favor or would support Sarah Palin?

After her showing in the election, I don't think that even her strongest supporters would feel comfortable with her as President. (Seriously, could you imagine??) They like her because she criticizes Obama in spectacular fashion, much like Fox News, which is why her current job is actually a perfect fit for her. But when push comes to shove, I doubt any conservative seriously considers any current Fox commentator as Pres material, including Palin and even Huckabee.

Even that has waned in last couple of years. When her movie premiered at an Orange Co (Cal) theater about two years ago, a reporter assigned to review it said there were maybe only a dozen people there. This was in the Eastern conservative (Megachurch, Disneyland, used to have orange groves, etc) side not the coastal liberal side of the County.
