Respect the girls of porn!

The word 'whore' usually has negative connotations, and when someone calls another person a whore, that person usually intends to say something negative about the other person. I think we all understand this (and it is true regardless of what meanings of terms you can find in dictionaries). In any case, it is not the words themselves that is the issue, it is the (negative) attitude that (normally) comes with them. This attitude can be displayed using other words as well.

Actually, if you are a mature adult with a grasp of the language, the use of any word can be determined easily as to what the intention of the speaker is.
The translation is up to the listener, and you may apply childish meanings as you wish.
Most employees whore themselves out, and many people do things not up to the highest moral standards for monetary rewards. Whoring...
When I am given nasty or excessively hard work to do, I do it as required by my "contract" with my employer...I take his money, I do the job.
When the line is crossed and I feel personally disrespected, I stop being an employee and leave.
A whore continues to work at what is required, beyond any sense of personal respect.
Or even starts at that point, as in doing vids for someone who doesn't respect them, for an audience that loves to watch but despises them, and they hate the work but take the money...that crosses the line into "whoring".

But...calling someone a whore is disrespecful, even if they are on a corner selling their worn out ass. "Hooker" is nicer...:D

The difference is using a verb to describe an action, or a noun to describe a person.
I can respect a person, even if I don't respect an action they have taken.

Sorry for the delay in answering.
You are very right my friend. But what I wanted to project is "If looked closely, may be some or all of us behaved a little 'whorishly' if not slutty one time or other." and that is irrespective of gender.
But that doesn't excuse my omission. Thanks for the correction.

Hi there! I kind of red your posts in the wrong order. When (after posting my reply) I red your earlier posts I totally grasped your point (... I was a little slow there). So I think there really was no need for a "correction"! :)

Hmmm... I really don't see any direct disagreement with what I said, since I talk about how we treat persons (and not actions) - but perhaps it was not your intention to disagree. Anyway, tell me, if you enjoy them taking these actions (i.e., having sex on film) (do you?), how can you not respect these actions? Or do you not respect your own "action" of enjoying it?

Long live porn stars they rule.

Total respect for all porn stars.

I respect the business as a whole for spinning the collective heads of people like radical conservatives. And since the women seem to have a lot of power in the business, I respect most of them!

I respect the few that use it as expression for their (lack of a better word) art.
I do find it harder to respect the ones that seem to take it beyond the common boundaries of acceptability and tastefulness, there have been a lot of scenes that have made me physically ill within the seconds it takes me to click off it. And worse mentally, by trying to understand why and how someone could allow themselves to me put into that situation... On the other hand there is obviously an audience for such material and in a way I think it says more about the person who watches it then it does the actress playing the role!

I guess, I see both sides of the debate... But, the one opinion I refuse to listen to is with their right to do what ever they want to, with their lives... To many people have given their lives for that freedom for me ever to take two differing opinions in to account!

I guess what I'm saying that while some have my respect(well as much as a person can have without actually meeting) others don't... And that's fine!

OBTW, it's never acceptable for a man to call a women a "slut, whore or c-word" see I can't even type it!
But, it's a non-issue as a real man would never even consider it!

Actually, I agree with you completely (at least almost completely :)). You also bring up an important issue that I think has not been attededed to in this thread before: that about the right to do WHATEVER one wants with ones life. I agree with you. There have to boundaries. But it's quite hard to "define" them, and it is also difficult to see how to "implement" them. Societies that regularly force people into doing or not doing this or that tend to be "not so nice". I think we need to do more thinking and work in this area. Personally I believe it boils down to some more thorough change (in attitudes and ways of looking at other people and oneself). In any case, also those who do things with themselves that they shouldn't do deserve some respect, and I think this claim is close to what you say in your OBTW (with which spirit I of course also agree). :glugglug:

Pretty much:glugglug:
Society and the ones whom believe they are more entitled to setting the guidelines of said society, will always try and dictate their archaic ideology onto the masses(or at the very least, on ot the poor sap sitting next to them)!
And that's fine, they have just as much right to preach their disdain as I do to ignore it! I just wish they would practice the lead by example analogy rather then the "do as I say not as I do" way of life!
I refuse to watch cable news networks cause all it is is people trying to tell me how to live, if it's not that, then they are constantly sharing their opinions on topics... I don't need that, just give me the frickin news!

Sure, there are lot's of things I don't agree with but, I've found it much easier to let others live how they want to live, while I live how I want to!

Is it easier for you to respect the dudes "pin-cushioning" her and talking to her in that way? Or the people watching them doing it? If so, why? If not, then you just seem to find some sorts of pornography bad... I guess... and if so, as far as what you described is concerned, I tend to personally agree - but I still respect the girls doing it (as humans); I just find it sad that they have to do it - and I can promise you: it was not them who originally came up with the idea of doing it (so if doing it is "bad", then we should disrespect the producers of this kind of pornography most).

This thread isn't about the guys. It's about respecting the girl's of porn. Do I respect the guys? Have you read my descriptions of porn guys? Short answer- no, I don't respect them. There are women in the porn biz that I do respect, but that's because they have respect for themselves, and have earned it.

Throwing out a blanket statement about how we should respect all women in porn is as ludicrous as saying we should respect all politicians, or all women, or all pro athletes.

Respect is earned.

Well... I haven't seen that much disrespect being expressed towards pro athletes, so I thought the point was a bit more relevant in the case of porn (and, actually, but sadly, women in general) ... but perhaps I haven't paid enough attention to the "respect-for-pro-athletes-debate".

Guess this thread is (almost) dead... but perhaps that is good? Perhaps it means there is some concensus about respecting the girls of porn (and other girls/women)...

I don't respect porn girls more than any one else. I don't even know anything about them other than that they're hot and I like wanking to them. Profession has virtually nothing to do with the amount of respect I have for someone.

I missed reading this post...but as long as the thread isn't 3 years old...
You are making a rather childish assumption that everyone here watches all porn, and enjoys the same things.
I have my own particular taste in women and sex...and while I have dated all kinds of females in my life, and lived with precious few, I have my preferences about right and wrong that only apply to me.
When it comes to an act, I like it or not...but while I don't rule out how cool the actor/actress may be, I don't always respect the people in an industry automatically.
Hedonis expressed this quite well...

I mostly prefer looking at models, and have never enjoyed watching other people having sex. I only like it when I'm involved...
So? I don't judge others for their favorite things, unless I personally find their actions not up to my standards for human conduct.
My business, my personal standards.
As long as they don't attempt to force you to act in a way that I approve of, it's no one's business what anyone feels at their core belief.

Automatic human respect is a given with certain types of people, and many lose that respect for someone as time goes on and familiarity breeds comtempt.
Others respect no one except themselves, and act respectfully only if they need to, or are beat down enough.
Guess who I prefer to keep company with?

I knew a super babe working at a Strip Club, paying for her Law Degree by dancing. I still remember her, and the huge respect I had for her.

I was set up for a biker robbery/beatdown by a dancer I was hanging with, guess how I felt about her?

I spent years with a proper lady, who turned out to be the biggest "whore" of them all.

Life is a crapshoot in so many ways...closing doors due to preconceptions just keeps a lot of great experiences and people out of someone's life.

Some square pegs are truly wonderful, but they won't fit through a round hole.

Whatever...:2 cents:
