Respect the girls of porn!

this issue is really interesting to me as of late because i am a porn fan who doesn't respect the porn girls.

phil has answered the important part of your post, convincingly. There is no point in rehashing the same.

I've a question mario.

When a person gets entertained, paid money to be entertained, rejoice in the part the entertainer has played for his entertainment, but does not respect the entertainer; what does it mean?

To me, he or she, as the case may be, has no respect for himself/herself and his/her own taste.

Do you agree with me mario?

Every woman deserves respect. Every breathing, living human being does. Its fine if you don't respect their line of work, or what they choose to spend their time doing, but when it comes to how you treat them or talk about them as a human being...respect should be given.

Thats just my opinion...I somewhat work in the industry so I'm a bit biased, but I've been called a whore more times than I can count and it does kinda bum me out because at the end of the day, I am NO different than any other woman out there. I go to the grocery store, I run errands, I have family and friends and a spouse and pets and I watch Greys Anatomy on Thursday nites....I just happen to have a more sexual job than other women. Who cares?!

that is actually a very fair and very understandable analysis and let me re-explain myself. like many of you have said pornstars are people too and for that matter they deserve the natural respect all human beings are entitled to. so it's not that i disrespect them as human beingss but i have no respect for them as pornstars. i hear you all stating that pornstars are similar to any other woman or man butu just different in the fact that they have sex on camera , and again i sat that that is fair. however if i am not going to disrespect them for having sex on camera i also owe them no respect either. the one difference between a porn star and any other woman is that she has sex on camera. that is sadly not enough for me to worship and adore them:bowdown::bowdown:. now i know some of them love their fans and honestly put effort into their work, that is something i can respect. you won't catch me respecting someone just on the mere fact that she or he is pornstar though. to me that is the equivalent of respecting someone just because they breathe on camera. i'm sorry i just can't honestly say i respect them without lying to both myself and all of you.:hatsoff:

Correctly said Mario. Thank you for the explanation. If we look deep, we will find your words are true regarding any entertainer/person. Respect is earned, not by default but by action. And it has got nothing to do with race, gender, age or profession.
Thank you once again, mario.

People call pornstars sluts and whores because that is what they are. How else would you describe somebody who fucks random people on camera for money?

:dunno:

Just because it's their "job" doesn't mean that what they're doing isn't slutty or whorish. It's funny, but people will call a slutty girl a slut at the drop of a dime, but when that girl does it "professionally", those same people seem to change gears and try to defend those girls' actions. A slut is a slut.

Now, as far as disrespecting them goes...

Personally, I don't disrespect pornstars for doing what they do. I don't think of them as bad people or "beneath me", but, at the same time, I'm not going to pat them on the back for doing what they do either.

Well, being a relative newbie here, I think it's great that some members have been able to actively exchange ideas with some porn stars here. I haven't really come across anything disrespectful during my time here and if I were to meet, say, Nina Mercedez, I couldn't imagine treating her disrespectfully or others unless they were to treat me in such a way.

Slut
Slut\, n. [OE. slutte; cf. OD. slodde a slut, Icel. sl["o]ttr a heavy, loglike fellow, slota to droop.]

1. An untidy woman; a slattern.

Sluts are good enough to make a sloven's porridge. --Old Proverb.

2. A servant girl; a drudge. [Obs.]

Our little girl Susan is a most admirable slut, and pleases us mightly, doing more service than both the others. --Pepys.

3. A female dog; a bitch.

whore
(hôr, hōr) Pronunciation Key
n.

1. A prostitute.
2. A person considered sexually promiscuous.
3. A person considered as having compromised principles for personal gain.

intr.v. whored, whor·ing, whores

1. To associate or have sexual relations with prostitutes or a prostitute.
2. To accept payment in exchange for sexual relations.
3. To compromise one's principles for personal gain.

[Middle English hore, from Old English hōre; see kā- in Indo-European roots.]

Word History: Derivatives of Indo-European roots have often acquired starkly contrasting meanings. A prime example is the case of the root *kā-, "to like, desire." From it was derived a stem *kāro-, from which came the prehistoric Common Germanic word *hōraz with the underlying meaning "one who desires" and the effective meaning "adulterer." The feminine of this, *hōrōn-, became hōre in Old English, the ancestor of Modern English whore. In another branch of the Indo-European family, the same stem *kāro- produced the Latin word cārus, "dear." This word has several derivatives borrowed into English, including caress, cherish, and charity, in Christian doctrine the highest form of love and the greatest of the theological virtues. · Another derivative of the root *kā- in Indo-European was *kāmo-, a descendant of which is the Sanskrit word for "love," kāmaḥ, appearing in the name of the most famous treatise on love and lovemaking, the Kamasutra.

I draw attention to the meaning of these two words.

If looked closely, may be some or all of us behaved a little 'whorishly' if not slutty one time or other. :D

I think you perhaps read too much in to the original points I wanted to make when I started this thread. I was of course referring to the respect owed by any human being. What I turned against was simply the kind of jargon you sometimes (quite often) see when guys are talking about girls/sex/porn, and which treats porn stars (and often, sadly. also other girls) as though they deserve NO respect (not even the one we both seem to agree that they do deserve). Of course you don't have to adore or worship porn stars. But I do find it odd that we who like watching them should take what they're doing in front of the camera to count against them. There is no need to be more disrespectful to porn stars than to other people. That's all. Surely, some things that people do can make us lose (some of) our respect for them, and that is true of porn stars as well. But if the mere fact that they work with porn should do that, then I think our watching the porn should do the same for us. And the reason is simple: We should lose (some) respect for the porn stars only if what they are doing in front of the camera is wrong. But if that is wrong, then our participating in it by watching it is plausibly wrong too. I don't think that having sex in front of the camera is wrong, but I do think there is lot of wrong-doing within the porn industry (some - but far from most - of which is done by girls who also have sex in front of the camera), but that is another issue.

that's true, and isn't it weird though that there are plenty of people that only care about making money, and I may add do much more harmful things for it than give orgasms, and this is generally considered to be an admirable quality.

a professional musician is not looked down upon compared to an amateur, but a professional fucker is disparaged compared to someone who fucks for free. WTF?

so why is that even a factor at all, shouldn't the quality of a persons deed be judged on it's merit alone, not on whether or not it has to do with currency exchange? makes no sense.

its all about definition

a musician is a musician

a girl who has sex with many men is a slut

a girl who gets paid to have sex with men is a whore

and we are all perverts

its thats simple

The word 'whore' usually has negative connotations, and when someone calls another person a whore, that person usually intends to say something negative about the other person. I think we all understand this (and it is true regardless of what meanings of terms you can find in dictionaries). In any case, it is not the words themselves that is the issue, it is the (negative) attitude that (normally) comes with them. This attitude can be displayed using other words as well.

I agree with you completely Danizingo. The problem is at least in the US is the Puritan attitude that still exists and many of those people are hypocrites. Also it is the view that they are whores and the belief is you can do anything to a whore. Personally I don see those people any different than anyone else. I think those Wall Street scumbags should be treated worse.

That's great. I also think that FreeOnes is one of the places with quite little of the disrespectful attitude I was referring to. But only this thread (if you look through it) already shows that it is not entirely absent (even here).

well said!

Majority of them aren't doing it for our "viewing pleasure", they are doing it to get paid.
Girls in porn deserve the same amount of respect as any other working female, no more, no less.

I didn't mean that their motive is our viewing pleasure, but if they didn't do it with the intention of giving us pleasure while viewing them (i.e., for our viewing pleasure), then they wouldn't get paid. :)

Most of the disrespect of these women seems to come from:

a. The men in this industry
b. Themselves (I hear the women themselves calling themselves and each other sluts and whores more than people on this board)
c. The men in this industry

Ya know, I respect a lot (a LOT) of the nude and tease models, and that has a lot to do with how they conduct themselves when I've interacted with them here (and elsewhere).

I have a hard time throwing out respect to a chick who's just been pin-cushioned by four dudes in every hole, allowing herself to be talked to like the victim of a rape-in-progress, allowed herself to be spit on and choked, and who craps some guy's load out of her ass onto the floor and then licks it up.

Respect starts with the self.

H

Is it easier for you to respect the dudes "pin-cushioning" her and talking to her in that way? Or the people watching them doing it? If so, why? If not, then you just seem to find some sorts of pornography bad... I guess... and if so, as far as what you described is concerned, I tend to personally agree - but I still respect the girls doing it (as humans); I just find it sad that they have to do it - and I can promise you: it was not them who originally came up with the idea of doing it (so if doing it is "bad", then we should disrespect the producers of this kind of pornography most).

Sorry for the delay in answering.
You are very right my friend. But what I wanted to project is "If looked closely, may be some or all of us behaved a little 'whorishly' if not slutty one time or other." and that is irrespective of gender.
But that doesn't excuse my omission. Thanks for the correction.
