Recommend me some rock/metal instrumentals

Also on the latest Nightwish CD Dark Passion Play the second CD is entirely instrumental. I think this might be the special edition of the album though.

It is the special edition. I like Eva better on the instrumental CD. Some of the other songs (such as Bye, Bye Beautiful) still have the choral parts. Kind of defeats the point of an 'instrumental' album, no?

Good choice!! :D Im listening to Dark Passion Play atm

If youre after more instrumentals check out Joe Satriani, Yngwie Malmsteen and Steve Vai...most of there stuff is without lyrics

Opeth. Songs like Epilogue, Silhouette and Patterns in the Ivy.

In Flames. Pallas Anders Visa, The Jester's Dance and Wayfaerer.

Sepultara. Inquisition Symphony, The Abyss, Warriors of Death

Tool. Triad. And in my opinion, anything off of Lateralus. Maynard might be saying something, but I could almost care less what it is. He IS an instrument.

I've recently been jamming instrumentals, so hit me with some. What I already have:
Metallica, Rush, Dream Theater, Steve Vai, Yngvwie Malmsteen, Chimaira, and my most recent pick up Marc Rizzo.

Try "Man Made God" by In Flames

The entire album "Guitars That Ate My Brain". Its a compilation album of a bunch of metal guitarists playing original songs. Seriously some of the most epic instrumentals I've heard in a long time.
