Racist and Racism

Legzman

what the fuck you lookin at?
I for one don't give a damn who you are or what "group" your attached to. If I don't like you...I don't like you.

:glugglug:

I always tell people I'm not racist, I'm observant. BIG fuckin difference.

And yes I believe in race.
so do millions of scientists and billions of people.
races of humans do exist do they not?
so acknowledging that is proof of racism?
Are you high?
can i buy some pot from you?
:rofl:What scientists? Are they from the 1800's? Do they also believe in eugenics? And they number in the millions, do they? Brilliant! Name one. Name one scientist that teaches at a reputable institution of learning, that can prove that race is a biological certainty.

"Races of humans do exist, do they not?" NO, they don't, you moron. Different cultures exist. But a culture has nothing to do with your physical traits, does it? And yes, differences in skin color, hair color and eye color exist. But do any of those traits dictate what language you speak, or what customs you adopt, our your shared historical and ideological perspective?

No, they don't, you bloody moron.

Here's a hint to why what you said is wrong: apples and bananas? Yeah, they are different species. Two humans beings? Oh, look at that, they are the same fucking species! Imagine that? That would mean that they're not like apples or bananas at all then, wouldn't it?

And the reason you are being told you are wrong? It's not because your are white. No, it's because you are wrong. There is no such thing as a Caucasoid, a Mongoloid or a Negroid. There is no such thing as race. It is completely made up. Like Santa Claus. Unfortunately, a lot of children, like you, still believe in it, and have a hard time letting go.

To sum up: yes, a belief in race makes you a racist. That is the very definition of the word 'racist'. Doesn't matter if you are a white guy who believes in race, or a black guy who believes in race. Still a racist. Whether you discriminate, or are prejudiced or bigoted based on your belief of race, is a different story. But to be racist, all it takes is an unintelligent belief that humans should be divided and categorized based on the color of their skin.

Go back to school, or start reading some books, please. Science has grown and changed a lot since the 1850's.

2 african people don't have a caucasian baby or vice versa
don't believe me, ask a scientist, ask an expert in geneology

so where the hell is the racism in that?
wheres the offensiveness
man you people need to get a grip or grow up or something.

And yes I believe in race.
so do millions of scientists and billions of people.

Caucasian like any other race description is a title given to a people with more human genes for certain traits than others. This probably going to be the cause of some angst and consternation with you but all humans possess the same traits...the only different is the saturation of traits within given groups.

You Might want to sit down meester or have an alcoholic beverage at this point but you actually have melanin in your body that in enough amounts would produce black skin. The reason why you are white or caucasian if you prefer is simply because you have more clear melanin than brown.

Melanin is in our hair, eyes and skin...in terms of the baby in the other thread. It is simple to determine if the baby is an albino or not...albinos have very little if any pigment and no melanin. If that baby has melanin, she is not an albino....simple as that.

All humans possess the same traits just in varying ratios by groups. Race is a man-made classification to ostensibly define groups. That is probably the point others are trying to make to you.

I know you mean well, but this has been the stupidest post I've read in months. Wow, dude...just wow...

Actually, other than a few grammatical errors; I think it's one of the more intelligent posts I've read in months.

I'm not talking about the "species" bullshit, but the idea that "race" is an archaic word. An unscientific word.

It took the HGP, what, until 2009 to argue that the idea of race should be debated? I suppose that PBS' Frontline and Henry Gates are idiots. And racists. And DNA mapping is irrelevant.

I'm not defending meester's ramblings. The thing is, I figured glock27 would be smarter in his retort. Ignoring scientific tradition to bully a point does nobody any good, even if it does sound rather charming

the question was legitimate.
how would you explain to a foreigner who saw 2 blacks calling each other "that word" why he himself should not use it?
I don't even care at this point.
but i do know why it wasn't answered.

I will answer this dumb question for you. The answer to this "foreigner" is a simple question.

If you saw 2 white mothers smacking their children would that make you think it's Ok for you to smack them? The answer should obviously be "NO".

In my opinion and I'm quite confident most folks of my race would agree that black people shouldn't be using this word at all. Period. It sends out the wrong message and gives people like you who appear to be obsessed with racial issues something to talk about. :2 cents:

Sadly we will never live in a perfect world. Now I'm done. :wave2:

fuck you all and your pathetic excuses for calling me a racist.

now its to a point of accusing racism for someone using the word race?

and dont worry about defending my ramblings lalilu, which for the last 5 posts have been trying to show that me saying a cow don't make ham was not and should not be taken offensively. I wouldn't want you to get labeled too.

some of you guys are just freaks.
the ones who are actually obsessed.
"oh boo hoo meester said that there are different races of people"
then the next thought " Oh but now i can used that to use the word racist and get a feeling of self satisfaction by doing it"

the whole original point of this thread was the overuse of the word racism today in some places.
freeones being one of them.
man a lot of you proved that to be true .
you people have no idea who i am, what i feel.
you just find something , twist it, and and run with it.
to me a lot of you are much more racist than you will ever realize

so now using the word race of people is racist?
no its not, its just a lame excuse to use the word racist.
and thats sad that its come to that.

am i rambling again lalilu?

But it is an archaic word. It is both archaic and unscientific, as a concept.

Race was used as way to categorize people, based on a generalized perspective that one's biology was tied to one's culture, and vice versa. They tried to tie cultural aspects (like intellectual aptitude & technological advancement) to physical aspects (like the shape of your skull, or how fair your skin was). This link defines the very idea of racial classification, and it was used as a hard and fast rule to prove that certain types of people were superior to others.

But then, over time, all of the scientific disciplines that supported those ideas were debunked. Come to find out, these disciplines weren't "scientific" at all. Phrenology, eugenics, social darwinism . . . all of it was bullshit. They were instances of biased people looking to find (and in some cases manufacture) data to fit their firmly held racist beliefs.

It was proved that the Earth revolves around the Sun. But we don't defend previous scientific thought to the contrary, as having merit or value. The existence of microbes was discovered. But we don't pretend that there is still value or merit in the belief that infectious diseases are caused by the supernatural.

So why hang on to the concept of race? A concept that dictates that Celtic & Slavic peoples are of lower intelligence than those of Anglo-Saxon & Germanic heritage? Or that someone living in Geneva is more evolved than someone living in Tokyo, who in turn is more evolved than someone living in Lagos? To speak nothing of "mixed race" or "bi-racial" people, the existence of whom pretty debunks the concept of race by itself.

It just doesn't make sense to hang on to any scientific tradition that is so conclusively false. It's time for us to let it go.

And i'm the one who's rambling?

you were the first one to say the word race in this conversation.
now you are preaching about the evilness of the word.
nicely played but youre as transparent as the rear window of a freshly washed AMC Pacer.

black, white, asian......these are races of people whether you like it or not.
there is no racism about that, unless you are a person who has an obsession with finding racism in all that you can for whatever reasons you have.

the story wouldn't even be worldwide news if races don't exist.
"Blonde Bombshell: Black Couple's White Baby"
posted here by one of the people who accused me of being racist of all people.
http://uk.news.yahoo.com/5/20100720/tuk-blonde-bombshell-black-couple-s-whit-45dbed5.html
what makes the story unique is that one race of people supposedly had a baby of another race!

so the op is acknowledging race so he must be a racist too.
so are all the people here who responded to the thread, the people who wrote it and the millions who read it and found it interesting must be racist too for they are all acknowledging race.

and if races don't exist then racism can't exist.
maybe call it ethnicityism, different peopleism?

man acknowledging race within humans is in no way racist, insulting or demeaning.
denying it is though.

it doesn't mean you think of people in a negative way, it doesn't mean you treat them differently.

And why stop with the word race?
lets eliminate the words like austrian, polish and canadian, white black latin native american, women, men , children , tall , short fat , skinny because someone may find a way to twist those words into predjudice and discrimination.

you really should not go around accusing people of racism so nonchalantly.
its a serious accusation and its insulting.

Am I still rambling lalilu?

I am a failure to the Korean side of my family
i wouldn't sell hardly any interracial porn if there wasn't prevalent racism in this society. just to give you guys a corny example, my number one selling movie in the clip stores last month was "my daughters a ****** lover". it outsold most everything 5 to 1. and honestly it wasn't even a good movie, probably one of the worst I ever made. but it sold on the title and boxcover art alone... it was just 2 18yr olds white girls giving me a shitty handjob with their inexperienced hands. the movie sucked, but people bought it for reasons other than the sex i am assuming, for the language, and prominent taboo use of ****** in my films. its just something you dont see everywhere

in my opinion porn is the truth so far as getting suppressed emotions and thoughts out. it is more than fantasy and entertainment... its really a hardline no bullshit look in the mirror at what the world has become, at least the IR niche of it. off my soapbox for now... at the end of the day i try to make movies that are entertaining, funny, and full of sexy shit but what i enjoy most is the freedom of speech that porn allows. you can get away with so much more than in traditional cinema so long as everythings legal

That's alright I wanted to do an Ass To Mouth porn with empahsis on my Korean heritage titled "The Orignal Kims of Sodomy" and my tag line would be "Baby girl can't you just taste the racial harmony and bok choi!"

I think that most cultures know that hitting children is wrong, most don't know that in the states blacks can and do call each other ****** often but other groups shouldn't.
you still didn't answer the question about how would you explain that to the foreigner , just gave a bad comparison but forget it , it doesn't matter anyway.

That question has been answered several times using several different examples. Either you're too simple to understand the answers or you're playing dumb to perpetuate a nothing debate.:dunno:

It has not been answered.
Its been called names and been used in inaccurate comparisons but not answered.
Like I said I don't care at this point.
But I'm not playing dumb so I must be simple.
And for that I am replying plus to your other insinuations on this thread.

The pot calling the kettle black
( is it racist to use inanimate objects in human comparisons in the form of proverbs? I don't want to upset anymore people like i did when i said a cow don't make ham.).

But heres how it would go down:

Why cant I say that also?
because you can't?
why not?
Because you just cant, thats all ?
But why not?
Because your not black.
I dont understand what does skin color have to do with it?
Well..........
It sounds racist, some can say it but some cant?
No its not racist, its just the way it is thats all.
Why?
ummmmm.........
i gonna say it to that guy.
no don't!
why not?
because you will get beat on.
what? why? the other guy said it.
well.........because thats just the way it is.
This country's fucked up isn't it?
Uh, pretty much, yeah.

A stranger using some unfamiliar colloquialism to someone they are unfamiliar with could end badly for them no matter what the colloquialism....that's why most rational, sane people don't do it without having discovered the background or context for doing so first.

That's not obvious to you???

I showed you a perfect example from the movie Gran Torino to illustrate the point..you dismissed it as friends joking. When in fact it was the perfect illustration and explanation for the circumstance.

I showed you another example for how some blacks don't just refer to other blacks for whom they are familiar with by it but anyone irrespective of race...because the context for it's use is no different from "dude" for example.

I explained to you that words generally viewed as pejoratives may or may not be viewed as derogatory or a pejorative when the case is two familiar people. However, when it is pejorative+strangers it defaults to pejorative or derogatory...no matter WHAT WORD IT IS.

Now again, if that doesn't reasonably explain to you why then there's no other way to describe your understanding (or lack of) beyond too simple to comprehend. As you have claimed it's not a product of the only other excuse, intellectual dishonesty.

You are the perfect example for leading someone to reason but not being able to make them think.

I can't explain why some here would call you racist based on some of your posts not others but clearly the point of some of your posts which side step logic could be viewed as race baiting.

ok, mega, lets end it, i wasn't talking about the many words in the many countrys that can be misunderstood.
I was talking about one specific word in one specific country.
saying that there are other examples does change the fact.

And I don't race bait.
But if someone calls me a racist for whatever reason I'm gonna ask why specifically they said that, i'm not just gonna let it go.
more people should do that and maybe the accusations and the actual word might
actually regain some meaning some day.

I know you weren't but isn't the whole reasoning behind the existence of analogies and analogous circumstances to help someone understand something that isn't as apparent to them in another example?? I mean, yeah...2+2=4 isn't the same as 4+4=8 but it's presumed once you understand the principles behind one example, you'll understand how each, similar problem is solved.
And I don't race bait.
Do you even know what that is?
But if someone calls me a racist for whatever reason I'm gonna ask why specifically they said that, i'm not just gonna let it go.
more people should do that and maybe the accusations will get realistic one day.

Well...that's reasonable but assuming they provide you with a reasonable justification and you simply don't comprehend it then what?

From what I understand, blacks who use the "N-word" rarely use it in reference only to black people and the context is usually very similar to the use of "dude" or some other slang reference for guy.

That said, it doesn't mean someone using it in a racially offensive manner toward a black carries the same weight.

It's practical application is as a heteronym to the derogatory application.:2 cents:

I'm sure you are correct on that. They often use it among their friends, as I pointed out earlier. I still think they would better serve their own people by not continuing to use a word that has historically had such negative connotations.

I tend to agree but there is the case and it has been made in many different circumstances for co-opting or hijacking a symbol or term. I don't know if it ever can become that way in this particular case but certainly many blacks aren't race specific when they use it.
