Police taser blind woman with cancer...

...who was not a suspect in any crime:

I'm waiting for them to taser a terminally-ill retarded kid who lost his puppy and then got run over by a steamroller and a marching band on his way to a consolation zoo trip!!

All kidding aside, the abusive tasering seems to be continuing...

:::thinks for a while::

A 9 year old black girl.. with downs syndrome.. who was born prematurely.. to a drug-addled family.. who sells pencils on the sidewalk to make rent and ramen money.. whose dead body was raped... eaten.. and she was on her way home to give them the 100$ bill she found.. that would've helped pay for her younger brother to see the doctor about his terminal-illness, depression that sprung from the loss of his pup, and something about having his leg or legs crushed by a steamroller while watching a parade.. (that didnt stop marching to help him).. and later he was going to the zoo because it was their free day!

Yeah, how about that?

~~~~~~~~~
On-topic: On one hand, the alternative is worse. A gunshot wound. But honestly.. that's a really messed up combination: Blind.. cancer.. not suspected.. we'll that one a misfire.
The officers actions will be investigated, but Sgt. Anderson said Harris should have told them she was scared.
"She does not have to open her door. It was a voluntary thing for her to open her door," he said.
What a lovely reaction.
What a lovely reaction.
Yeah, my thought on that exactly. As if the cops would've said "Oh, you're scared?? Our apologies!"
The whole thing does make me think how scary that scenario could be for a blind person. A seeing person can ask the cops to show them their badges and ID (probably with mixed success, I'm guessing, regardless of what the laws are) and scope them out to take a guess on their legitimacy. What can a blind person do?? (and that's a real question - if anyone actually knows, I'm curious)
Anyone seen Audrey Hepburn in "Wait Until Dark"? - good flick, and quite relevant to this topic!
the policeman who did this should be fired and traded in justice for homicide, I mean seriously who the fuck tasers a blind woman???? :mad: :wtf: Policemen should pass psychological tests before being recruited.
What the article doesn't state is that they classify her as a "blind woman" only in the sense that she is employed at the local Venetian blinds outlet store. :yahoo:
Seriously though, this is perhaps the least legitimate tasering yet. At least from the article, it seems like the taser was totally unnecessary.
Mr. Daystar
In a bell tower, watching you through cross hairs.
You would be surprised who gets tased, and how many of them die...and cops DO take a psychological test, thats the scary part.
Is this the one that "richard millhouse" profiled recently. . . blk, transex, and wholly kosher whilst taking up residence @ the indi reservation ?
The thread title is great !:hatsoff:
. . although you could embellish it up a bit. :dunno:
Nothing pisses me off more than an "above the law, lawman." I realize they have a pretty rough occupation. They can have it. A childhood friend of mine's father just blew his head off. He was a cop for 30 years. Can't imagine some of the stuff they see on a daily basis, but the crooked ones still get no love from me.
Normally I'm in support of policemen tasering people who are doing something bad, but this one makes no sense. What in god's name could she have done to anyone?
I guess we are far enough removed from 9/11 that police bashing is now back in vogue. To which I say, 99% of the time....Good.
Thank god they were only trusted with tasers.... muppets!
Police taser blind woman with cancer...
I say good.
Blind women with cancer are up there with the most dangerous people on the planet.
They share the title with Amputees with warts and Dyslexic Anorexics.
Time for the police to clean up the streets.....
Be very careful on how you buy into the obvious slant in the article.
With every legal case that is brought to bare against police officers it comes down to what is reasonable at the time.. without the benefit of 20/20 hindsight.
I submit this...
Detectives rarely wear protective armor and little in the means of personal protection. Do not forget that the officers were there to find her "son" who had warrants pout for his arrest!
Are we to honestly believe that she was happy to hear this...
Maybe, just maybe she freaked the hell out and lashed at the first thing she could...
and it just so happened to be a detective who probably had two three options...
1. Shoot her...
2. Get into a physical confrontation with her...
(where they both run the risk of injuring themselves)
3. or use less than lethal force and tase her...
I think he chose wisely.
It's funny how quick some people are to judge cops, especially knowing that when the shit hits the fan they all dial 911. It's a thankless job where no one wants you until they need you...
:2 cents:
that's so usa :S go USA! go USA ! "oh shes blind and she is finding something to uphold her. LETS taser her !" "oh yeah that sounds fun lets try it" In finland the cop would have immediately been kicked out of job and taken to mental analysis and after that if not classified as crazy, to jail for rude assault.
One of the MANY many many many many many many many reasons I'm glad I don't live in Finland, where apparently police officers have no rights at all. I'm sure they do their job well with that knowledge.
well only big difference between usa's law and finlands law is that finnish law execution is based on common sense and not like in usa where you can sue mcdonald's for you came fat by eating their products. common sense in this case = if blind woman get's tasered by police for no obivious reason, police should be punished. And at finland no-one is above the law not even police, army or president. (think what katrina caused because us army didn't do it's job right at new orleans(u.s.army build those flood walls that broke down even those should have been able to take twice as tough strike and why weren't builders sued for doing things wrong? Because at usa you cant sue army!)
Offcourse if the woman would have been offensive agains the police they could just have cuffed here and not cause the risk of heart-attack. :| Think about it with your common sense (if you have one)
And most important plus about finland: we have no natural disasters at all :)
If there are some weirdnesses in my text, it's because my native language is finnish, not english.
Back to number 2 for a second - "Get into a physical confrontation with her" only to find out that, mere hours after said incident, an agenda laden, SPLC / ACLU atty. goon is salivating over the fact that when it all goes to court, he'll exploit said womans' handicap to the "n"th degree . . as the incredulous detectives walk away from headqtrs, just learning about their mandatory administrative, leave.
Roger . . concur ! It's also funny how, if given the opportunity, the antagonists will shade an entire nations' law enf apparatus as a result of a handful of *overly aggressive, violent cops. . . of which may be agent provocateurs, from the get go :dunno:
Law enf is the least appreciated means of employ in the nation as, they must be absolutely perfecto ! 100 percentile - 24/ 7 / 365 1/4 days a year . . walk on water even ! Cops also are social workers . . has anybody noticed ?
I have also noticed that a greater number of officers must be bi or multi lingual. + many other requirements.
The taking of one's life these days is so routine today, the death of a local Police officer hardly gets anybodies attention at the 5 - 6 & 11.
It's just a spiraling vortex down down down.
People and society today simply are not the high quality characters we were in earlier times. As I see it, society is begging for dictatorship. Understand your history !
Getting ahead of the thread here :o
