Two pages of this subject. LMAO What I'm laughing at really is so many posts are being made on topic, are friendly and lucid. *shakes head*

Funny how it takes "**** paper" conversation to bring an onset of comradery.

On topic: I like it under, promotes less waste an easier tear. ;)

I always have it over. For one thing it's a shorter reach. :)

This just in, from one of our viewers who shares the same sentiment as expressed above!!!

"...and while it is indeed imperative have the roll of toilet paper located as closely as possible to the user, for me personally, it is just as vital that it be located on the side opposite that of the hand of which I use to hold my cup of coffee."

Ergonomics, friends, and what better place for it to flourish than in the bathroom!

Ah, ha-ha, but there are those who dissent from the generally accepted view:

"For my personal tastes, it (the roll of toilet paper—ed.) shouldn't be mounted the same way every time, and neither should it be located in the same part of the room for that matter, especially when one takes into account the clinically-proven fact that the frequencies of my 'call to nature' is arguably five or six times above the national average, I have good reason to be fearfully concerned about sustaining a repetitive motion injury."

America still wants to know!!!

Re: Over, Under or even Sideways Down: Your preference in mounting a roll of toilet p

Always over-the-top! That just seems the right way. This topic is an ongoing bone of contention in my household. Fortunately we have three toilets, so individual preferences can be accommodated. LMAO!

THREE toilets!....geez.
Must cost a fortune in loo-roll.

BTW: nice coincidental name 'Dire Need'..LOL:hatsoff:

Re: Over, Under or even Sideways Down: Your preference in mounting a roll of toilet p

I have been known to remove and 'correctly reinstall' rolls of toilet paper at work, at other peoples homes...:1orglaugh

You're a menace to society..:nono:

I'm just of to the loo now..I'm going to have great pleasure in rolling it over the top:hatsoff:

I never have my TP on the wall mount! I just set it on the back of the tank! LOL

STOP THE PRESSES!!! This reply just in from one of our viewers!!!

"My ol' granpy did the very same thing durn 'the war' until that George Patton took notice of it, and exclaimed that it was against regulation, unbecoming of a soldier in his commmand, then publically reprehended him before allies and enemy alike, and then fed him his stripes, along with givin' him a slap or two or three! And aside from all that, the 75 mm *** kept knockin' the rolls off the back and into the mud every time they turretted about lookin' fer a target, and then they had to stop the convoy to retrieve 'em! Durn fool, that granpy o' mine!"

I, of course, demand the roll be mounted "over the top"...

But, I asked a passing non-member his opinion, and Mohammed Ibn Mustafa sneered, and said True Believers don't involve themselves in decadent Western customs, and simply use their left hands.
Of course, the more civilized among the Faithful make use of the water spigot usually installed in the WC to rinse the hand after.
Do they have a preference in water containers, I wonder?

Can't accuse us of not being socially responsible here in this thread! First, it was toilet paper etiquette, and now, we're agressively promoting safe sex!

Make room on the mantle for that Pulitizer, boys!

No, that's not what condoms are for.

Someone parked the ol' Sensahumor next to the Pacer in the spare garage, heh?:D

Somebody really researched the subject; I'm exhausted from reading so much "history of TP".
They left out how the custom of TP got to us decadent Westerners...I was told through the early English traders who made contact with China, where they also learned about and ignored several other health and hygiene systems (like wearing light clothes in the tropics, instead of wrapping up in heavy wool for protection; and regular bathing).
My personal favorite is the regular bathing, I'm so happy it caught on here!
And, of course, TP!

I remember a friend of mine in the hospitality industry said that most of the finer hotels demand the paper be "over". In my experience, it's true.

Also, in most of those hotels, I've noticed that the housekeeping staff folds the first piece to an arrow point after cleaning.

This question is incomplete....

Its not just about under or over but whether you are a scruncher or a folder!!

Presentation to the chocolate star is everything!!!.... ;)

LOL. It costs no more for "loo-roll" than were we all using one toilet. Although, it is very handy having more than one commode, when the need is dire. ;)

And the sanitary seal they put on the toilet seat amuses me - like a safety seal on a jar of vitamins? :dunno:
