OCSM of the Week 2014

Butt line ... Oops! I mean, bottom line, I think we can all agree that if a comment doesn't contain the word "Vote" ... it shouldn't be counted as a vote. Because a lot of times people will come in here and show their admiration, affection, love, lust, Wankometer Factor Level, Droolometer Factor Level, approval of images, etc. big time ... but, the word "vote" will NOT be in the comment. So, at that instant it should be assumed that while they're giving the particular babe in question and her images Two Thumbs Up, they haven't necessarily decided to VOTE for THAT particular OCSM.

That won't necessarily solve the problem, since they can still prattle on before getting to their vote. And we don't always type the ladies' full names so they autolink to show up better, which can also make it hard to spot a vote. The thing to do would be to have it so that your vote has to be in the top line and with the girl's full name so it autolinks, so that way Jitna can find it easily. Though, as part of typing this, I have had the thought that instead of a year-long thread, it could be weekly threads with a poll. Then no one has to count or try to discern votes from novels.

However, I think this should probably wait until the OCSM of the Week 2015 convention in December to pound out new guidelines like that. Though, if Jitna doesn't link back to the rules very often to let newbies know or remind the rest of us, it's not gonna do much good after the first few days.

Doesn't hurt to remind everyone once in a while. Also, you've shortchanged potential voters by a good 20 minutes.

I personally wouldn't have a problem with the somewhat loosely official rule being that our official vote be in the top line. Or even that the official vote format be a succinct "I vote for ______." That alone in the entirety of the comment.

However, what are the odds that everyone would follow that format or ANY format for that matter? :rofl: We still can't get nominators to give nominees the heads up that they've been nominated.

Your Poll idea does sound like it could possibly solve the conundrum, ban-one. :thumbsup:

Actually, I gonna stick up for you a bit on Strokin422's vote, because I'm not sure it was always there, being he's a new poster. The reason I say that is because Friday night, Mandy thanked him for the vote in her thread, and I didn't see his post in this thread until this morning. And it seems like something similar has happened in the past with new people's posts.

What's kinda funny is I didn't see his vote either, but he had emailed me and said he voted for me, so I thanked him in my thread.

Like any election, there will be those who don't follow the guidelines for whatever reason, but the solution is to just have the chosen method of casting a vote strictly enforced so that if you don't vote correctly, it doesn't count. No exceptions. That's fair for everyone and makes Jitna's job easier.

And while my poll idea would certainly help keep the voting straight, it would also add some complexity to nomming. However I think the simplicity of voting would outweigh the added complexities. But that can all be worked out later for next year.
