Since Ivy Jean was in the lead when she withdrew, I'm calling it right now; this contest will go down in controversy, the same way the 1925 NFL Championship did. Who really won it? Officially, the Chicago Cardinals did. But many say that the long-defunct Pottsville Maroons won it fair and square, and were robbed of the title.
Yes, yes, I know that even Ivy herself has admitted that this is all for fun -- and, therefore, not as important as, say, a pro sports league's championship banner. However, to the legions of Ivy Jean fans, this controversy will not be allowed to go quietly into that good night!
But seriously, I just happened to be checking out an Ivy Jean gallery around the time that nominations were being considered for this week's OCSM, and I decided to nominate her.I had no idea it would lead to all this... nonsense.
It reminds me of the old adage about university professors arguing fiercely over access to... on-campus parking spaces. The adage goes something like: "The more self-important the person happens to be, the more said person will flip-out over the most inconsequential of things." :1orglaugh
and now i'm speechless whom to blame? Should be only for fun and So better to just let it slide by and did you say it was ivy snow aka ivy jean's nomination?

Now I feel compelled to comment since you made all those accusations.
First and foremost- thank you so much glennorson for nominating me- it meant a lot but after this drama I would like to withdraw my nomination for OCSM of the week. I have no interest in getting entangled in some popularity contest where supporters of one model start moaning about cheating over a contest that has no bearing on anything except the world within this thread. I don't get a prize, money, or anything for winning- so what's my incentive to cheat again?? If anything, it looks like it gets passed back and forth among the same group of girls and I'm just opening myself up to the bullshit trolling this subforum is known for.
Second- not one person on this thread is affiliated with me in any way except for being a member to my site. Yes, I did suggest that my members become part of freeones. I did this because A- Petra recommended that I do so, and B- I thought it would be nice to see familiar faces and get support on a forum that is known for being full of trolls, assholes, and factions of members that flame others in support of "their" model. I am not saying all members are part of those categories- only that a small subset like to try and ruin it for everyone else. There is a reason there is a new OCSM sticky thread asking for suggestions on how to fix trolling and attacks on OCSMs.
Remember the OCSM protection act or whatever it's called from last year's Miss FO? Yea- piece of evidence numero dos regarding asshats on here.
Petra/Anders/Regina- would you mind please doing an IP check on all the people that Larss accuses of cheating or being affiliated with my site? I would greatly appreciate it!

Ivy Jean, I have no idea who you are. No offense meant by that, I don't go looking for girls. As I've said just recently (in this very topic) I'm a Harley Spencer fan, and I don't really need more than her so I don't go looking. So no surprise, or offense intended, that I wouldn't know you. I just don't know a lot of other girls beyond Harley and the folks that post here. That said, I understand why this place has a bit of a bad rap. But then, that's not FreeOnes, it's The Internet. Any place on the net that isn't tightly controlled will form small pockets of zealotry and ill will. Doesn't need to be FreeOnes. Look at IMDb, you'll see the same thing happen on an actress's board by fans of another actress.
Some people just naturally feel the need to promote what they endorse, up to and including attacking anything that someone else may even just prefer, even if no offense was intended with that preference. Remember that from the earliest age we are all taught that being correct is "good". When learning a task (whether it be spelling a word, or shitting in the potty), when we get it "right" we are praised and rewarded... not so much when we get it wrong. Is it any wonder so many of us can't shake it in later life? That we NEED to have our thoughts validated as "correct" and act badly when they aren't? Sad, but it's the world we live in.
I think you'll find that most people here aren't as hostile as you might think, or at least no less so than most places online. This topic may be... a bit more contentious due to it being a "competition" (really, as you acknowledge, it's just for fun), but even then usually not much. Some stuff happened awhile ago that has larss' hackles up. I wouldn't take it too personal, he's just reacting to the bad behavior of others. Once bitten, twice shy as they say. He's a nice enough guy. There's just been issues here that... really, have nothing to do with users trolling, and they've had an impact. Even the best of us sometimes succumb to negativity when unfair things happen. Such is life.
If you stick it out, you'll likely find the board isn't as inhospitable as some may have led you to believe. While there are... problem elements, as there are in any community, the whole isn't necessarily worse than what you'll find elsewhere, and personally I might even argue that it's... better. :dunno:

since the voting has slowed down, ill pose this now. because we are 2 weeks away from the 1st round of the OOTW of the Year, i was wondering if we wanted to do a "play-in" round, meaning a round where all the ladies that have 1 win (there are 6 of them right now) compete to get into the first round where there are currently 9 women. if we did there, would be one more week of regular voting. if we didnt there would be 2.
