Right now is not the time for politics. Sadly this too will become just more political pandering.
I thought that we could at least a page of civil posts before it broke down.:crying:

I have often found myself on the opposite side of issues than Obama, but I must say that the president earned so much respect from me in his speech last night. I was so proud of him and our politicial system and, for the first time in a long time, I felt hopeful for our country. I hope that the divide that has been growing among Americans will finally start to heal, that the politicial parties will find a way to work toward consensus. They will of course disagree, but they can do so without anger. And maybe we all can jump in rain puddles, too.
True. But Jag you aren't naive. You know how this starts....You say something like you said in your OP. Then invariably you'll have those without a shred of a fact come to this thread and start parading nonsensical untruths based on what they feel about the guy. And it's so blatantly easy to refute that people who know the truth are just not going to sit back and allow the tripe to stand.
I mean, sad but true.:dunno:
how about we use our troops to secure our own borders and yes the US is going into serious depression, how many of those troops would be needed to secure the southern border I wonder
Stop it everyone....just fucking stop it.
I started this thread in an effort to promote national unity in a time of great shared national tragedy and all you partisans have hijacked it and turned it into yet another "your side sucks" thread. There are already a million of those on this forum so please go argue your incessant finger-pointing divisive self-righteous bullshit on one of them please.
Man we are so fucked....:crying:
I blame the right.Stop it everyone....just fucking stop it.

Yeah...if he did what you suggest...there would be those babbling about how he didn't even come out to address the situation.Complete snoozefest. Get back to work asshole.
Also WTF with the cheering? Wooooohoooo Arizona U!!! Isn't this supposed to be a funeral?
It wasn't a funeral. However, even with funerals..there is no specific tone it must take. Some choose to mourn a death...others choose to celebrate a life.:2 cents:
'Not Sure'? Exactly.
It was embarrassing. And I am sure.
Bingo. And all the people booing Jan Brewer made me think that it was a heavily Democrat event. Not to mention the odd cheering during what's supposed to be a memorial event.
I wonder how much spending cuts Illinois did (particularly the city of Chicago) to go along with that tax hike? When you are controlled by a political machine, the machine tries to bleed you 9 times before it thinks to cut down on resources devoted to itself.
I didn't watch, but I'm not big on speeches. I was also very disgusted at how the liberals in the media as well as some Democrats tried to pin this on non-liberals not 30 minutes after the shooting. Everything has since been reversed on them and non-liberals have been vindicated. But now the left is using it's sheer force in numbers in the media to disguise all that and say "it's not about party or ideology" where were they 30 minutes after the shooting?
None of this will bring back a 9 year old girl named Christine Taylor Green or the other 5 people that were killed.

Are you aware that we are in an economic depression and have been since 2008? If we bring 150,000 Americans home, where will they work? Do you have a job to give a veteran?

Katrina hit while Dubya was on vacation. In fact many bad things happened while Dubya was on vacation. I could look up some more but he took the whole month off and was down there in Crawford, clearing away that brush and drinking iced teas.
While I don't think he doesn't care, I think this was viewed by his staff, and advisers, as more of an opportunity for him to get some points back from the American public, and they worked real hard to make him look better then he really is. I think the whole presentation was designed to make him look far more selfless then he is, and I think he's using this tragedy to help his image, much like others will use it, to try and whore their own political agendas.
Well, the man's duty is to address issues like this. The only way we can know if he will exploit it like GWB did of 9/11 is if he makes this incident his middle name like Bush and Giuliani did.
I highly doubt Obama will be mentioning this even 2 weeks from now let alone 4 years from now like Bush and Giulani were of 9/11 but let's see.
I'll be looking more closely at his actions, then his words. They count for much more, to me. We'll see. In all fairness, Bush was evil...Obama is just conniving.

Oh fer cryin' out loud.
This was to have been a silent event...Pres. speaks everyone listens, not cheer like it's a damn ballgame.
