Obama Wants This For The Country

Rey C.

Racing is life... anything else is just waiting.
Since the OP is a person who has said he'd love to have W. Bush back, this sort of puzzles me. From the article that he linked:

California Governor Jerry Brown signed into law on Monday a bill allowing illegal immigrants to receive privately funded scholarships to attend the state's public colleges and universities.

I'm going to let someone else explain to our pal Nester how W. Bush's (unfunded) federal MANDATE, called "No Child Left Behind", worked. But please touch on the part where local school systems, and the taxpayers who support them, have been forced to hire bi (and even tri) lingual teachers, to educate any and every child who attends that PUBLIC school system... legal or not. It's much like Ronnie Reagan's unfunded federal mandate which forced (even private) hospitals to treat anyone and everyone who stumbled through the door.

I tell ya what, my wallet can't stand many more of these damn "fiscal conservatives", who are always offering me freedom, economic growth and lower taxes/fees. They say one thing, criticize everybody else and then they shoot their hand in my pocket! And when you catch one of them in the act, they'll claim it wasn't them. It just looked like their hand... it was really some liberal's hand (attached to their body, I suppose).

Believing this is stupid? Election year politics?? It's facts reported by INS..and the date of the story is July 11th ('11)...

I think I would do well to stay out of this one... but just for reference, technically, the INS hasn't existed since 2003. So to say that the "facts [were] reported by the INS..." is categorically false.

Just sayin'.

True...I'm old skool:hatsoff:

INS = ICE...thanks for the assist...I feel about like when the young whipper snapper tried admonishing me for using the military term for housing rats. circa my service instead of using what it was changed to..:(

But since we're being technical it's, "Just saying"...

Just saying

Three lullabies in an ancient tongue
Obama is the ultimate, liberal, socialist bastard, unless you have been blind to the news, He just wants to tax and spend more on the poor who offer nothing to this country! They can"t even keep their rented propertys clean!!!
Illegals are ruining the country better than Hitler"s armies!!!!

Nester....I understand your feelings against Obama but that's just ranting. I'm completely against illegal immigration and I saw nothing in the article you cited that mentioned Obama. Shall we play 6 degrees of Kevin Bacon on this or do you have a better source to back up your thread title? Not saying it isn't true....just looking to connect the dots.

Why is that a bad thing considering that most of the poor reside in Conservative states?

"At the end of the day, if we're going to continue as a powerful, equal-opportunity society, we're going to have to invest in our people," Brown, a Democrat, said "

Our people?
I hope someone shoots him in the head.........preferably a Mexican.
How Ironic would that be?

Pandering for votes at the cost of his citizens and the Constitution he was sworn to uphold...

Hope and change? More like sleazy politics and no leadership. :brick:

(Re)read the OP and the associated article.

I particularly liked this line;

"At the end of the day, if we're going to continue as a powerful, equal-opportunity society, we're going to have to invest in our people,"

Our people?
:dunno:

They are "our people". These aren't people who just came to this country a week ago, some of these kids came here as toddlers. They grew up in this country, going to school and living as Americans. They know no other country but the United States. And believe it or not, we need these people. This is opening the doors to some bright and talented people. They could turn out be very successful people, going on to be scientists, doctors, engineers, etc. I don't want this country to end up like Japan, which outweighs all other nations with the highest proportion of elderly citizens. We don't want an aging population so this is going to benefit us because it will grow our workforce.:2 cents:

What candidate on the other side of the isle would be so much better????

Romney? Bachmann? Pawlenty?? Palin??

We are fucked anyway you look at it, blaming it all on Obama is for very simple minds

Just enjoy the ride on the way down, we dont have any say in what is going to happen, your vote isnt going to do anything to help.

Blame the Bankers and the Corporations, the Military Idustrial Complex, Federal Reserve, Obama is just their little slave

are you implying or saying that old americans should die to make room for mexicans?

No, I'm saying that we need to develop smart policies that ensure we nurture our own talent, and also attract the international, skilled workforce needed to ensure that the U.S. economy thrives. Our current immigration laws, however, don’t support this job creation goal. We face shortages of skilled workers in key sectors of our economy.
