Obama: It's time for Libya's Gadhafi to go

what most people don't understand is that that the US has enough sweet crude on its own soil that would last past 2040, the question is why don't we use our own oil and its because back in the 70s a deal was made with the top dogs in the middle east that allowed the mid east oil companies to ship its oil to the US in exchange for US treasury bills which made the mid east oil kings filthy rich but shut down the oil refineries at home, now as the dollar devalues and the paper fiat currency is worth less and less, the mid east oil kings wealth will become worth less and less because they have invested so much in the US fiat currency, and here in lies the double cross because when turmoil truly engulfs the entire middle east and oil cannot be shipped abroad and the dollar is not worth the paper its printed on, that is when the US will open up its own refineries again and start to produce the juice for 60 cents a gallon but us americans won't be able to get it for that price, it will be much higher and the US oil kings will then begin to get more filthy rich then they already are but that's just an opinion and you know what those are like ;)

Yes, opinions are like run-on sentences. Everybody's got one and they all stink.

and "brave people" of Lybia? Sorry, but I don't buy that one... he's been in power for decades... brave people my arse hole.

That's easy to say if you live in the relative freedom of the west. I think you have to be brave to put your life on the line to try and obtain freedom when your tyrant leader will not hesitate to order the army and police to shoot every last one of them dead. That's just my opinion. :2 cents:

At least Reagan had the balls to respond to terrorists.

You know the only reason he made up with the West was that the US busted a ship full of weapons (and some WMDs) headed for Lybia a few years ago, right? He was about to get taken out... He kissed some ass to keep his head.

Meh....he launched airstrikes against a fairly unarmed middle eastern/north African country. When Marines got hit in Beirut...he lined up the usual bluster in front of a mic but withdrew and then took it out on Grenada I guess.

But funny you should mention it since OBL proclaimed it was when Reagan did the 'cut and run' from Beirut shown America's weakness.

Says the poser. You know we lost two pilots that night on Eldorado Canyon against your so called "fairly un-armed country".

Jesus, you're so full of it.

To be quite honest, they're the ones dying by the hundreds against fully equipped military forces... not us or anybody else. So yeah, I'd mark that down as pretty damn brave. And let's not forget, we Americans lived under England's boot for a lot longer than the Libyans have lived under Qaddafi's, before doing anything about it.

I sincerely wish them the very best of luck. But I am not in favor of U.S. military forces becoming involved.

Jesus, you're so full of it.

I'm glad you brought this up....further demonstrating the reality of your 'idle's' boneheadedness...(yours too).

Let's see who's full of it...More double speak from a guy who makes double speak a way of life it seems like. We lost two pilots...therefore what???? Without context it sounds like your double speak is actually saying something...

I said they were "fairly unarmed" meaning they have little ability to defend or attack. Iraq was 'fairly unarmed" by military standards too....how many personnel did we lose there???:facepalm:

We lost 2 pilots.....BUT THAT WAS OUT OF HOW MANY SORTIES INVOLVING HOW MANY AIRCRAFT??

That operation was massive in terms of aircraft and ships directly involved in the strike. Even bigger than the entire British force used in the whole operation in the Falklands.

Not a single Libyan fighter engaged and the fact that we did suffer casualties is a testament to the unnecessarily large and complex operation undertaken for the relatively small tactical accomplishment. You send as many aircraft as Reagan sent with no stealth capability and trip A is bound to hit something just on dumb luck. Everyplace with a border and something of a military has trip A.

Go back to dreaming about the gimp....

Re 'poser': I'm not going to be too many more of those. I explained why I don't have anything to prove to you. You either understand that or you don't. If you keep it up...I'm not going to volley names back and forth with you as that's probably the game you want. I'll just let the mods handle it.

Jeez the amount of back peddling from you is incredible. No shit Sherlock Eldorado Canyon was a big strike against an integrated Air Defense system.
I bet your butt had to Google the mission and got your info from Wiki.:1orglaugh

Unnecessary mission?

I bet you don't even know what type of aircraft the lost pilots were flying let alone where they were based.

What exactly were you doing in '85 and '86? Going to middle school?:1orglaugh

The local population are trying to overthrow one of the most vicious police states in the ME and over 1000 of them have paid for it with their lives. How many more civilian demonstrators have to get machine gunned down in the streets before they earn your respect as courageous individuals? 2,000? 20,000?

If you were condemned to a life in that shithole I imagine you would have rode in on battle cat and single handedly pwned all the bad guys years ago, right?

This is what I mean. You're full of (among other things) double and triple talk. The scale of that op was unnecessarily complex when you consider the tactical accomplishment..that's pretty widely held. As far as what aircraft/s lost pilots...:wtf: What would be the point of someone like me keeping track of something like that? I wasn't involved in the operation so why would I or any other individual not involved be keeping score of something like that??

That's for fans of the military like you apparently are who sit around trying to impress people with how much shit they've read about like it's sport or something. I don't know you, nor what you do. If you happened to have at some point worked for the g'ment and therefore have reason to to be filling your noggin with second or third hand accounts of military ops and the like hurray for you.:dunno: Or maybe you're just a fan. You sure sound like it.

You're damned right for some things I would research some facts just to make sure my recollection was precise on some detail as only a fool wouldn't. Though I wouldn't be in need of looking the shit up for the gist of what happened.

But what? You're telling us you have first hand knowleged of this being in HS or fresh out at the time??:1orglaugh:1orglaugh

For the record you claimed you graduated HS in '86 and went to college. What college (what HS for that matter)? Because if it was anything other than a service school academy...what first hand facts could you have relating to some military operation in '86???

Oh...I'm sorry it couldn't have been a svc. school academy since you never served.

Even then you wouldn't so where from are you attesting first hand to all of these facts?

Backpeddling??:1orglaugh Sure.. to the same guy who somehow sees Reagan being responsible for an aircraft who's first flight was months after he got in office and wasn't even working off of his budget.

I may be many things Mega, but one thing I am not is a guy who claims I served in the military like you. You got yourself in a hole with that claim and now your stuck. You could've admitted right off the bat that you were just kidding about your "service" and that would've been the end of it.
But now you're digging yourself deeper by sticking to the lie.

You are a poser, a faker, a fraud to the lie that you served in the U.S military in the 1980s. A veteran can answer the questions I listed within seconds because it's second nature. You can't because you never served.

Then you make some dumb statement about the airstrikes on Libya in April '86 which makes you seem even more dubious.

Give it up Mega. You got caught.

What lie? What hole? You're deluded. Anyone can make up a rank, rate or mos correlate it to some branch of service and claim they were at some location.

You're the one in need of giving up. Your facts didn't match the reality now you're trying to spin....

You wonder aloud if I was of age during Reagan's presidency. Point of FACT, I was actually in his military. Sorry....you may not like the facts but you don't get to turn your opinions into them.

The only thing in need of giving up on this is you trying to be the last word whore. Everyone here knows how delusional you get when your makeshift facts get blown out of the water.

Stick to the point or shut up.

Yes, there is oil in Libya. Where does Germany get its oil, Saschaxx?

Lybia, South-America, Iraq, Iran, Saudi-Arabia, Gulf of Mexico, Norway, Northern Sea ...there, where we can buy it . And we surely hangaround right into all of this areas with our forces to safe the oil ....or NOT ?

But we´re sitting with our dumbazzes in the middle of Afghanistan to defend the German borders right there ...by invitation of another dumbazz . :):angels:

But waiiiiiit ....what´s this ?? There is some OIL in Libya the US needs ...??

So go America, gooooooo !! :):angels:

WTF - Don't tell me your are one of those... that think the US fights in the Middle East to take their oil - I only WISH we did that! Anyone that make a statement like that is a fool, if we took oil we would not be paying what we do now for gas!

Wait 1st off I have no great love for Obama - but he is my commander and chief. So All I can say I may disagree with the man, but on this point I will agree. The bastard Gadhafi should step down or be removed - hopefully in the form of his head from his body. All real men and country leaders should and would support this!

Muammar al-Gaddafi - has allowed and supported terrorism for far to long....

If you were in the military in any branch during the 80's you would not even comment on such a thing. I in-fact server proudly to honor my father whom my family lost on October 23rd, 1983. I will not say anymore to that point, but the Marines, Navy, Army and French Chasseur Regiment, deserve more respect then to me mentioned like that.
The US and French retaliated later in December - they did not just cut and run.

As for Grenada Operation Urgent Fury - one had nothing to do with the other and the operation was under plan and readied before the cowardly attack in Beirut even occurred. Heck even Cubas Castor new of Grenada pending attack on October 22, 1983. So your statement does not make sense.

As a whole many people should want Gadhafi removed, from the USA, UK, Germany, France, Egypt - are just the ones I can immediatly think of where is has overseen an allowed or supported terrorist attacks on thier countries.

Man, why did I look at this thread - I come her for fun and porn and not political crap, I deal enough with that in my real life. Ughh

Why save the world, when you can rule it?
It would be nice if all those politicians in our countries had the balls to call for the removal of corrupt and despicable tyrants and groups of people around the world and to quit supporting them in any way because it's the right thing to do and before waiting until it becomes convenient for them to do so.
The politicians are corrupt and are the cause of the problem for the most part.
That's easy to say if you live in the relative freedom of the west. I think you have to be brave to put your life on the line to try and obtain freedom when your tyrant leader will not hesitate to order the army and police to shoot every last one of them dead. That's just my opinion. :2 cents:

Clinton launched airstrikes against Iraq. Surprising that he had the bollocks to do so for a Democommunist...

Be carefull, I got banned for asking a guy to prove his claims of military service once...
I hope the Libyans nationalize their oil fields once Tripoli is taken.
^^Yep! Who was it in Scandinavia who did that years ago and now it pays for every citizens pension, Sweden?

Of course he didn't retaliate for Beirut by attacking Grenada. The "I guess" didn't sell you on the sarcasm?

I'm not sure if you visit this board enough in order to understand the context of some of these political posts but if you understood me to be holding that out as anything more than sarcasm you're sadly mistaken. The political point of the sarcasm was to draw parallels to Reagan and Bush 43.

But if you serve honorably, I as a former service member respect your service, who you may serve in honor of and your point of view. Respect that of others...after all, isn't that a part of what you're serving for?

*plays devils advocate*
Clinton launched airstrikes against Iraq. Surprising that he had the bollocks to do so for a Democommunist...
Well, that was part of my point of in that the same guy here would likely be among those accusing Clinton of "wagging the dog" for similar strikes.
Be carefull, I got banned for asking a guy to prove his claims of military service once...

You were banned for merely asking someone to prove their military service? Listen, I have no respect for anyone willing to dishonor themselves by claiming of all things to have served in the military, parts of the military or operations and missions but didn't not. They're lower than whale shit to me.

But trying to compel anyone to prove details about themselves on an internet site is not a good use or your time...(putting it nicely). If someone is lying about something the consistency of what they claim will start to fall apart or will likely have holes in it from the beginning. To which it's probably reasonable to ask them to clarify. If they're able to clarify then that's one thing if they're not or it still doesn't add up then you can draw your conclusions from there. But nagging someone about something or resorting to calling them names because they're not interested in proving something to you will probably get you the ban hammer.

I don't remember being insistent on details, I think I only asked for rank and number or something, but it was a LONG time ago, so I can't remember exactly.
