Obama: It's time for Libya's Gadhafi to go

Huh? Don't us 'Marrcans have enough shit on our plates to be worrying about the Gadfly? Like say, getting the budget passed??

WASHINGTON – President Barack Obama has called on Libyan dictator Moammar Gadhafi to leave power immediately, saying he has lost the legitimacy to rule with his violent crackdown on his own people.

With that shift Saturday, Obama dropped the careful condemnation, threats of consequences and the reminders to Gadhafi's regime about its responsibility to avoid violence.

The president called on Gadhafi to step down for the first time, saying the Libyan government must be held accountable for its brutal crackdown on dissenters. The administration also announced new sanctions against Libya, but that was overshadowed by the sharp demand for Gadhafi's immediate ouster.

It's been past time for him to go.

And yes, we have more important matters to tend to on our own land.

how is this different the clinton and bush saying the same to saddam?
other than 2 presidents giving a verbal warning and 1 using military force.
i wonder what ron paul's opinion is on this kadaffi thing.

It really isn't. That's why O should mind his (our) own business on this. If he wants to sanction them with any type of diplomatic action to show his disapproval with any of their policies short of acts of war then that's fine and the right of a US president.. but nagging someone to step down from the head of their country that has shit to do with us is dumb IMO.

Love him or hate him, he tends to stay pretty close to his libertarian philosophy. And that means, don't fuck with someone who is not fucking with you. Yet another reason why the neocons have never cared for Ron Paul (or Pat Buchanan). And before any of the "tighty righties" on here start whining about me using the term "neocon", catch this video at about the 3 minute mark.

Hopefully Obama will stay OUT of Libya, cause Gadhafi will be gone soon by his own citizens !

But waiiiiiit ....what´s this ?? There is some OIL in Libya the US needs ...??

So go America, gooooooo !! :):angels:

I am a failure to the Korean side of my family
My slogan is this. Gadhafi, your so daffy why don't you step down and make some salt water taffy!

He's been in power far too long with the help of his old friends in the west. I hope he's gone within the next few days.

Obama, perhaps it's time for YOU to go too. You're a joke in the international community and you don't carry the gravitas of former presidents of the US, even that retard G.W. Bush. In the past 3 weeks, all you've done is echo the sentiments of the angry mob of protesters in Egypt, Wisconsin, Ohio, and now Libya. It's what got you elected but are you capable of independent thought and perhaps having an opinion on something BEFORE the shit hits the fan?

Hey, I don't like the price of a pitcher of Old Milwaukee down at Larry's Bowling Emporium. If I get enough angry union fucks to yell will you do something about it?

Yes, there is oil in Libya. Where does Germany get its oil, Saschaxx?

Luke your poem blows.

Yep, that's what I figured he'd say.

You said it, Reagan "almost" got him. Since then he made lots of friends in the west and they would still be his friend today if not for the brave people in Libya.

At least Reagan had the balls to respond to terrorists.

You know the only reason he made up with the West was that the US busted a ship full of weapons (and some WMDs) headed for Lybia a few years ago, right? He was about to get taken out... He kissed some ass to keep his head.

and "brave people" of Lybia? Sorry, but I don't buy that one... he's been in power for decades... brave people my arse hole.

what most people don't understand is that that the US has enough sweet crude on its own soil that would last past 2040, the question is why don't we use our own oil and its because back in the 70s a deal was made with the top dogs in the middle east that allowed the mid east oil companies to ship its oil to the US in exchange for US treasury bills which made the mid east oil kings filthy rich but shut down the oil refineries at home, now as the dollar devalues and the paper fiat currency is worth less and less, the mid east oil kings wealth will become worth less and less because they have invested so much in the US fiat currency, and here in lies the double cross because when turmoil truly engulfs the entire middle east and oil cannot be shipped abroad and the dollar is not worth the paper its printed on, that is when the US will open up its own refineries again and start to produce the juice for 60 cents a gallon but us americans won't be able to get it for that price, it will be much higher and the US oil kings will then begin to get more filthy rich then they already are but that's just an opinion and you know what those are like ;)

It would be nice if all those politicians in our countries had the balls to call for the removal of corrupt and despicable tyrants and groups of people around the world and to quit supporting them in any way because it's the right thing to do and before waiting until it becomes convenient for them to do so.
